A general thread to discuss Trump

And I don't want to overload this thread with humerous links ( so easy ) but this is about Trumps handshaking style . The "Trump Pump " .http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/02/14/donald-trumps-handshakes-like-man-aggressive-confusing-secretly/ -

Yes ,those names .Add to the surreal quality of it all ,like watching a film . My brain really isn't up to all this ,but Trump was well aware before his innaugration that discussions with Russia needed investigating .How can he ( rhetorical question ) claim that it's just now that he's lost confidence in Flynn. See this old news about it http://edition.cnn.com/2017/01/10/politics/donald-trump-intelligence-report-russia/index.html -
Yes ,I've heard that about root canals to difficult to access back teeth . Front teeth are easier apparently .

I agree Jenny ,I think they'll just use Flynn to distance themselves .And I guess you're right about the Republicans ,proving Trump correct about the swamp .Sigh . I located the story about not visiting Russia ,it was re a Michael Cohen https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2017/01/michael-cohen-it-is-fake-news-meant-to-malign-mr-trump/512762/ -

Jenny - yes ,re kiss of death . And thanks for link yesterday .I keep wondering what the Republicans are up to . I just can't believe they will let Trump carry on ,have they no shame > Regarding Flynn - was it him that was reported to have visited Russia ? And Trump said no no ,fake facts etc .He showed me his passport . Or was it someone else ? -
That's lovely to read .Well done for taking on such a daunting task and perservering . And I think swans mate for life so it would have been two distressed swans without your help .

Ah Malumbu , I suspect I'm in the same category as you ,henceable to speak with experience .So Sad .

And AG ,if it's any comfort here's a true tale which I'm telling to reassure you that dental work need not be painful - the dentist before my penultimate dentist was lovely . He had to drill through an existing gold crown/cap to do a root filling .I was so worried about the process that he offered to put a ?100 on the side cupboard which I could keep if I felt any pain .He kept his money ! I only stopped going to him because the receptionists were a pain and ,hard to explain ,but he had to do a lot of work just before I started chemo and going back brings back disturbing memories . And don't feel that you're a wimp - of course lying prostrate while someone comes at your mouth with power tools requires enormous trust in the person who's wielding said tools . And it's hard to trust someone you don't know . But take it from someone who has a lot of experience with dentists - you'll be fine with Chris .
-
AG - I've had a number of root fillings . Even with not very good dentists they are not that bad . With a good dentist they are no different from a normal filling though may take longer . There is NO NEED for there to be any pain .You might get tired keeping your mouth open . They seem to have acquired some kind of mythical status - often referred to in American shows in jokey/horrific tones . And people saying you can have the rest of the day off work - by all means do ,but I don't think you need to . I think they can vary depending on the position and the root .My penultimate ( private ) dentist said he didn't do root fillings they were specialist work and he'd prefer to refer me to someone else . You'll be safe with Chris ,I guarantee it .
-
AG - he really is good . He uses cotton wool ( or something ) with a numbing gel and then does the injection more slowly than I have ever experienced so you feel absolutely nothing . And he has always used enough so I have never had to ask him to stop and request more pain relief . Honestly ,I have a mouthful of fillings and crowns and he is the best dentist I've come across .Transformed my life . And available on NHS .

Unprovoked attack on Barry Rd

What a shock ,you poor thing . As for why - possibly the involvement of alcohol and/or drugs may have dispensed with logic . -
I've tried many dentists but bless the day a friend recommended Chris Tremaine at Dulwich Dental Clinic ,next to the post office . 020 8299 1334. Terrific dentist .The Best . All the other dentists are fake dentists .

People stay interested if stuff is sharp and relevant and get bored and stop reading if crap is posted and reposted ? Who knew ? I see that a federal judge is disagreeing with Robart - I can't think how this "works" ? Would it be the case that HS officials working at airports in Mass. turn peoople away ? While their colleagues in other states follow Robart ? "On Friday, a federal judge in Massachusetts declined to extend a temporary stay against the order issued last week, after expressing scepticism about arguments that the ban represented religious discrimination." https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/feb/04/so-called-judge-donald-trump-attacks-decision-to-halt-travel-ban -
Just out of interest re infected wound on 95 year old lady

Oh Delainie you sound so nice .Quite brought tears to my eyes . I think you should write to Guys rather than phone ,or when you're speaking to them ask who you should address a formal complaint to .This health professional will be visiting other vulnerable people and they won't all have people like you to watch out for them .He needs training ,or something .And his managers might be waiting for a reason to take some action ,your complaint might be expected and they might be glad of a reason to take some action with this person . -

Whenever I've made a complaint about care that has also been my fear but I can honestly say that the response has always been effective . You have a very clear case to put - this was said ,this was asked ,this was the response . " he said he was worried about wound, I asked why, he said because it's infected, did that mean he knew from Monday and this was Friday, he also asked if it was a house or flat and if she owned it or was it council. He said she should go into a home." " I was told when he gets back to clinic he would request antibiotics from GP. Told it would not be till 4 today,I called clinic to check at 4.30 as didn't want her left all over weekend, he said he can't do request now till Monday as he has other clients to see." Write it down and ask what the procedure should be where infection is suspected and it is thought antibiotics are needed . Say you do not feel the situation was correctly dealt with and you would like to know what procedures are in place to prevent this happening again . And I understand about not wanting to go and see a GP or go to hospital . I rather feel I'll be the same . -

Yes ,I've had trouble with some of the nurses or health care assistants from Townley Rd .A complaint did improve matters .The comments you report are appalling . There's an assesment unit for elderly at Kings .It can be very good if you are seen by one of the good doctors/consultants and can be very bad if you are unlucky and allocated a doctor who is just passing through as part of training and doesn't want to be there . They look at the person as a whole ( ie don't just concentrate on the UTI but would check other things and review meds ) and it might be worth seeing if the GP would refer. The unit https://www.kch.nhs.uk/service/a-z/clinical-gerontology could refer her to their falls clinic - my mum went for a bit and they do supervised exercises in small groups to improve/retain mobility and balance . As for drinking more fluid ......all you can do is try and find out what she likes and make sure it's available and to hand . Would using a straw help ? A flask of tea ? Or a thermal mug to keep it warm ? Milk and honey ?Warer with lemon or a lime slice added? Or a slice of cucumber? Cold ? room temp ? Frozen lollies ? And explain re the connection dehydration /UTI /mental fog and that she should regard drinking liquid as taking medicine to prevent an illness ? I hope things improve .Good luck with the complaint . -

I think you need to make a formal complaint re treatment . I'm really no longer sure who manages district nurses . But I imagine the GP surgery would tell you . -

It's being described as unusual http://www.azfamily.com/story/34380443/trump-breaks-precedent-files-on-first-day-as-candidate-for-re-election " According to campaign filings with the Federal Election Commission, Trump?s filing as a candidate comes more than two years earlier in his term than any incumbent presidential candidate in at least 38 years." 47 months- Donald Trump filed on Jan. 20, 2017 for the 2020 election. 19 months- Barack Obama filed on April 4, 2011 for his 2012 re-election bid. 18 months- George W. Bush filed on May 16, 2003 to run for re-election in 2004. 19 months- Bill Clinton filed on April 14, 1995 for his 1996 re-election campaign. 12 months- George H.W. Bush cut it even closer, not filing until Oct. 11, 1991 for the 1992 election. 12 months- Reagan had similarly close timing, filing on October 17, 1983 to run in 1984. -
