Yes ,I agree ,You're very kind Catherine .I'm afraid my first reaction was to be cynical and think the guy was spinning you a sob story .I suppose I just hoped he was ,The truth being sadder to accept . Really good on you .
Oh no ,no ,no that's hours already I've spent looking at these . Just finished looking at the Peckham Rye Estate and comparing the pics to google earth .How the trees have grown . How the post box has been replaced by a newer one .How little the blocks have changed .Though I wonder why the fencing was changed for the metal "stretcher " type . Off to look at Bellenden Rd /Choumert Rd junction now .May never have time for cooking again .
Oh for heavens sake ,can't people cut up their Christmas trees and put them in a brown bin or paper garden sack available from the library . Or are we all such babies that we need Southwark running around cleaning up after us ?
maybe ultraburner knows something that the website doesn't ? worth a phone call tomorrow ? Though might be a sign from above that you are not to carry out work on Monday ?
I have had nothing but excellent customer service from Lidl's - the Peckham one . The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient . What examples are there of poor customer service there ?
That's interesting JohnL ,thanks . I like to be familar with the RULES. Even though that doesn't affect whether they'll be followed . Sue ,I think the red request stops are on the way out .I'm sure there's none from the top of Barry Rd down to the bottom of Rye Lane .
So if you're at a bus stop do you always have to stick your arm out to get the bus to stop ? I stupidly forgot the other day ( old habits ) and watched unhappily as the bus sailed past . Any bus drivers care to enlighten me ?
I'd go for beach diluted in hot water .Might make the paving stones a little lighter but no more than much elbow grease and scrubbing would . I'm not very up on the horrors of bleach from an eco point of view but possibly use white vinegar if this is a concern .
Zebedee - having had a quick look at this ,I'm wondering why no measurements were quoted to substantiate the planning officer's conclusion that the development would not result in a loss of less than 50% of what they call amenity space which they equate with the rear garden . And ,not that it would help your case but I thought it was 50% of land around the orginal house ? I share your concern about the lack of knowledge /professionalism at these meetings .
Lovely ,I knew I'd get help on here ! Friend says she wants to keep them looking natural but "sort of enriched " .So I'm thinking she wants to achieve some kind of patina ( but not shiny ) added back .If that makes any sense . Ultra - does that give a glossy finish ? red devil - interesting .That was one of the ones that stood out for me when I googled .
Asking for a friend .She wants something that sinks in rather than a paint or varnish that goes on top . Some kind of oil ? Have had a quick google and there's an awful lot to choose from - any recommendations ? Floors are in kitchen and bathroom ,no small children or toys or pets .
