Sorry but I think Southwarks advice to leave it on the pavement is misguided .What's the rationale behind it I wonder ? It's attracting more rubbish and escalating the problem for no reason .They must have your location from your complaint so it's clearly not to aid identification .
Some pics here https://www.architecture.com/image-library/RIBApix/gallery-product/poster/holdrons-department-store-and-arcade-rye-lane-peckham-london-the-glass-concrete-roof/posterid/RIBA24510.html https://www.ianvisits.co.uk/blog/2014/02/07/art-in-peckhams-old-holdrons-department-store/
Very frustrating ! But please could you move it off the pavement and back on to your property ? Might cut down on depositors of fly tipping kind ? Green bins contanimated with non household/green type bin stuff are a bit of a no go I think for collection . Why is it attracting vermin ? Is there food in there ?
When I cycled I found the Court Lane Eynella Rd raised junction very slippery in frosty weather . Might have been just me ,but be careful if you're nipping through the park .
can people please stop washing their cars on the street - little chance I suspect . As there is for not washing on their forecourt with the water running over the pavement and freezing into a nice hazardous slick . I'm all for a nice protective patina of grime on one's car .
Yes ,I agree ,You're very kind Catherine .I'm afraid my first reaction was to be cynical and think the guy was spinning you a sob story .I suppose I just hoped he was ,The truth being sadder to accept . Really good on you .
Oh no ,no ,no that's hours already I've spent looking at these . Just finished looking at the Peckham Rye Estate and comparing the pics to google earth .How the trees have grown . How the post box has been replaced by a newer one .How little the blocks have changed .Though I wonder why the fencing was changed for the metal "stretcher " type . Off to look at Bellenden Rd /Choumert Rd junction now .May never have time for cooking again .
Oh for heavens sake ,can't people cut up their Christmas trees and put them in a brown bin or paper garden sack available from the library . Or are we all such babies that we need Southwark running around cleaning up after us ?
maybe ultraburner knows something that the website doesn't ? worth a phone call tomorrow ? Though might be a sign from above that you are not to carry out work on Monday ?
I have had nothing but excellent customer service from Lidl's - the Peckham one . The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient . What examples are there of poor customer service there ?
That's interesting JohnL ,thanks . I like to be familar with the RULES. Even though that doesn't affect whether they'll be followed . Sue ,I think the red request stops are on the way out .I'm sure there's none from the top of Barry Rd down to the bottom of Rye Lane .
So if you're at a bus stop do you always have to stick your arm out to get the bus to stop ? I stupidly forgot the other day ( old habits ) and watched unhappily as the bus sailed past . Any bus drivers care to enlighten me ?
I'd go for beach diluted in hot water .Might make the paving stones a little lighter but no more than much elbow grease and scrubbing would . I'm not very up on the horrors of bleach from an eco point of view but possibly use white vinegar if this is a concern .
