  1. Another migraine ? I hope you're ok .
  2. James what do you make of this extract from the officer's report quoted by Sidhue on The East Dulwich Hotel thread ? "Officer's Report The site is not located within a controlled parking zone and, as such, the location is not considered to be under parking stress." It reads ,to my mind ,as though only roads in CPZ zones can be considered by Southwark planning as being under parking stress . That seems odd ,and wrong ,to me .What's your view ?
  3. That's cr*p gaby ,I feel your pain ! Don't know if this http://www.vivantage.co.uk/viva-medi-tartan-transit-wheelchair.html?utm_campaign=ShoppingFeed&utm_source=google&utm_medium=merchantcenter&utm_content=Health%20%3E%20Wheelchairs%20%3E%20Wheelchairs%20-%20Transit&gclid=CjwKEAiAjvrBBRDxm_nRusW3q1QSJAAzRI1tFjImhPvTQlJhAyYKVhRpm3Qc4z8NgrjZjWZPB0yjjhoCObrw_wcB is of any interest .Took me ages to track down when I needed it for someone .It's more comy than it looks and is much easier to offload from a car . Not that it should be necessary for you to make such arrangements .
  4. Wouldn't the leaves have to be in those paper garden refuse sacks that you can get from the library ? Will they take if in plastic bags ?
  5. Sue ,of course .I'd assumed that was a given ,code of honour amongst us more senior EDFers and all that .
  6. ooh shell no need to nip to the tip ,a lot of us will like your bagged up leaves ( just leave for 18 months or so and voila leaf mould for soil conditioning and mulch ) . If you're fairly central East Dulwich say the word and I'll be round .

  8. Thanks Renata ,that's really helpful and good to know .
  9. Is there a jinx on the cafe in Dulwich park ? Is it positioned at the junction of malicious lay lines or something ? I've known it for over 40 years and it's always been a joke . Maybe there are reasons why from time to time they couldn't produce hot water ,lids for takeaway coffee ,chips ..the list goes on . But what would be the reason for the succession of (mainly) unhelpful staff who would never apologise or offer any grace .It has so often felt to me that customers were a nuisance to be endured - hot summer days ,not only do we stick to our ridiculous early closing time but half an hour before that we put two thirds of the seating out of action and set about cleaning around any who have the temerity to try and finish their drinks . Is the rent too high to support adequate numbers and well trained staff ? Does the demand fluctuate too much /is insufficient to make this work as a business ? What is it ?
  10. Yes ,yes the staff at Peckham Rye station are lovely .Helpful ,cheerful . The lady by the ticket barriers saves a copy of the Metro for an old lady who staggers in later in the day .
  11. "I assume that the developer assumes everyone will gradually be worn down into submission." Certainly true ,but as someone who's been in a similar position I would say never underestimate the effect your objections will have on the final outcome . There will of course be a development but it will be significantly better than the original proposal .
  12. Well,I'll ask so that others don't have to ...how come Barry Rd is not on the leaf removal schedule ? What's the criteria ( out of interest ) .
  13. Hats off to you village people for helping .Hope some positive progress was made .
  14. Bunch with a Morrisons "More" card attached . Barry Rd junction of Goodrich .
  15. But Satellite if you close one road to stop it being busy and polluted doesn't it increase the busyness and pollution on others ?
  16. "Heres hoping they keep it closed for ever." Why?
  17. Red Devil - yes I agree about people feeling that Obama'a presidency was rhetoric and that they are still suffering badly . I read the following on another forum and thought it had the ring of truth . "Obamacare was a brilliant idea, totally neutered by the Senate and Congress. The end result is not the start of social healthcare but a system which actually costs the working poor and lower middle class more. For instance, it used to be the case in America that most young people not in occupational health schemes used to get the equivalent of "3rd party only" car insurance on an old banger. You bought insurance for the unlikely but massively expensive risk of hospital treatment following a car accident or similar, then paid your way as and when on the cheaper stuff like a course of antibiotics for strep throat. Now you have to pay for insurance - and the co-pays mean you're paying more than if you'd bought the antibiotics outright. Obamacare in practise has actually made healthcare moreexpensive for a lot of the poor. So again, the poor are looking at an outgoing president and saying "it was all talk, it didn't actually make my very hard life any easier."
  18. What a ridiculous post Keano ,are you extending that logic to opposition parties ?
  19. Of course ,penny drops ! Thank you Lollipop . Obvious now who these lines were addressing in his last album If you are the healer, it means I'm broken and lame If thine is the glory then mine must be the shame
  20. My brother ,who always has to correct me has pointed out that Leonard died on the 7th and was spared the disaster of the American presidential election .
  21. Trump didn't win this; Hillary lost it. Dear Lord ,EVERYTHING is Hillary's fault .She can do no right .
  22. Everybody knows that the dice are loaded Everybody rolls with their fingers crossed Everybody knows that the war is over Everybody knows the good guys lost Everybody knows the fight was fixed The poor stay poor, the rich get rich That's how it goes Everybody knows Everybody knows that the boat is leaking Everybody knows that the captain lied Everybody got this broken feeling Like their father or their dog just died I reckon Trump's victory was the final straw for him .
  23. edcam - you say that having a sign indicating closure at j of Lyndhurst Way and Lyndhurst Junction wouldn't help much . It would have helped me .I would have chosen to drive to ED via Bellenden ,Maxted and Adys Rd .
  24. Sounds c*ap Foxy .But watch out with the co -codamol otherwise you won't be able to . Seriously . Wishing you better .
