  1. > it should be 10mph in built-up areas. Fascinating facts #n+1: The first 15 of the 153 finishers in last Saturday's Dulwich Parkrun actually ran the full 5km (a tad over three miles) at an average speed of at least 10mph.

  3. > has no told the police about this. That may give them good cause, if they happen to come across him en route, to stop him and have a look in his rucksack. But the chance of that happening is always going to be pretty small. The best way to nab him is probably for any of us to follow, on foot or wheels, and observe.

Lynne, have you done anything about this?

  6. I think you can more or less count on getting a communication from NHS inviting you to make an appointment at one of the vaccination centres or pharmacies that fall within their part of the organisation. See https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/coronavirus-booster-vaccine/. GPs seem to act separately and make their own decisions, with apparently less involvement than at the start. On walk-ins specifically, the CCG site https://selondonccg.nhs.uk/what-we-do/covid-19/covid-19-vaccine/pop-up-clinics/ gives details. But it's far from clear to me from that alone, without asking them, which offer boosters as well as primary doses. On our own thread /forum/read.php?32,2233605 there's confirmation of a pharmacy offering a third primary dose, and my own mention of getting a walk-in booster at KCH.

A link to https://www.mynewsdesk.com/uk/govia-thameslink-railway/documents/list-of-stations-with-life-saving-defibrillators-dot-pdf-415918, which follows on from https://www.mynewsdesk.com/uk/govia-thameslink-railway/pressreleases/great-northern-southern-and-thameslink-fit-life-saving-defibrillators-to-every-one-of-their-stations-3136338, is easier. According to the 2018 thread /forum/read.php?5,1971318,1971642#msg-1971642 there were then AEDs at Fusion gym and at least Goodrich school. I've also found in the Alleyn's Junior School Medical First Aid Policy pdf that they have four AEDs, including one at Reception (Main Building, Senior School), and several trained users, and are on the LAS accredited list (described at https://www.londonambulance.nhs.uk/getting-involved/london-ambulance-service-defibrillator-accreditation-scheme/).
  9. legalalien, which of the seven documents downloadable from https://moderngov.southwark.gov.uk/ieDecisionDetails.aspx?Id=7466 is the one that contains the bit you've quoted? Why expect us to search through them all?
  10. SC2 appears to be a [CPZ] "permit identifier" as defined in Schedule 1 to the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016: "any upper case letter or letters, with or without a number, whether or not placed on a patch which may be of any colour, where the letter and, as the case may be, number are of any size, in a colour that contrasts with the background on which they are placed and indicate a type of permit". If you look at the 'TMO2122-017_DS East Dulwich area' TMO https://www.southwark.gov.uk/assets/attach/66571/DS-East-Dulwich-area-notice-dated-21-Oct-2021-.pdf — one of those available at https://www.southwark.gov.uk/transport-and-roads/traffic-orders-licensing-strategies-and-regulation/traffic-management-orders?chapter=5 — for references to 'SC2' and 'permit' you'll find it's about providing exceptions for residential, etc (see page 9) permit holders.
  11. I tried actually making a same-day booster booking via 119 this morning, and this time was told clearly that the database they see is the one that we see online, ie not covering today. So I walked down to the Denmark Hill site with my letter and was accepted without trouble as a walk-in. About twelve minutes standing wait in an airy corridor — I think I might have hit the tail end of some pre-work attenders — and out in just over half an hour. You can get an idea of typical booking density by going through the online booking procedure. Tomorrow, for example, currently shows no slots booked between 9 and 11 am. That's generally been so when I've previously checked the next day's list, even late in the evening.
  12. Has anyone been able to use the NHS system to make a same-day appointment for a booster? The web-booking route at https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/book-or-manage-a-booster-dose-of-the-coronavirus-covid-19-vaccine/ doesn't seem to cater for it. Has anyone managed it using the 119 phone service?

  14. The Dulwich Society list shows the one nearest to that incident is at the Dulwich Park cafe. I believe that's thanks to Dulwich Parkrun. The Heartsafe page, incidentally, isn't accesssible via my older browser. I end up with a "403 Forbidden" message.
  15. In my meanderings today I found this page from the College of Physicians https://www.rcplondon.ac.uk/guidelines-policy/covid-19-vaccination-people-who-are-severely-immunosuppressed-third-primary-dose which usefully makes clear the distinction between the the third primary dose offered to the severely immunosuppressed and the booster offered to the rest of us, much as muffins78 says. I suppose it doesn't rule out the possibility of you folk being offered your own booster, further down the line, though I suspect that future vaccination plans for all of us are still very much in the air, and dependent on whatever emerges from ongoing research and monitoring.
  16. > There was no officer at the scene. How do you know?
  17. Current Southwark rules on garden waste say "only for organic waste which can be composted". https://www.southwark.gov.uk/bins-and-recycling/garden-waste-collection-subscriptions
  18. Is there anywhere offering the Moderna vaccine as booster? I'm havering anyway, between (1) a preference for diversity plus an inclination to wait a month for fuller, more reliable, Com-COV2 findings than the very small scale and duration preliminary report, and (2) the noises being made about the need to accelerate booster coverage now plus the likelihoood that the risk of infection might now be increasing.

Just as with supermarket car parks: don't pay the penalty, ask for its withdrawal, providing evidence of your being a 'customer' (member in this case) and having been making a visit then. I'd start with the organisation itself first, and see if they can see to it. It will be good for them to be aware how members can not be aware of the change. I'm reminded of Tessa Jowell centre, where some car park users there were initially unaware of the need for registration. When I first checked then there was precious little internal signage - an A4 typed notice stuck on a pillar - and the monitors for the data entry were tiny, obscurely placed, and could be easily overlooked. When I went there last week there were custom-made signs inside with reminders. "There is free parking for visitors to our wetland centre, please input your car registration details at admissions." https://www.wwt.org.uk/wetland-centres/london/plan-your-visit/directions/
  20. > Plus a pre-paid envelope. Presumably with a Business Reply licence, and to a verifiable MPS address, probably in Sidcup?
  21. OK, understood now. I've just tried, unsuccessfully, to replicate the phenomenon, but end up with the same username with the automated procedure. I wouldn't call your case random, just so-far unexplained. Is there any possibility that the address you gave was not the one registered with your muffins78 account? If that was the case the system wouldn't have immediately told you it was emailing you a new password. And there's an outside possibility -- I'm not familiar with the system -- that it might then have been forwarded to an admin for possible processing. That, anyway, is the the only reason I can think of for any human intervention that might have changed the username.
  22. That's rather similar to what was reported here /forum/read.php?12,1876276, even down to the fact that your muffins78 account still seems live: /forum/profile.php?32,1884. I don't know the outcome of that case; I think the user may have simply opened a new account. But I'd be interested to know what happens if you logout, go to the login page, and try reporting a lost password for muffins78.
  23. The alternatives to front yard are, presumably, as here: https://www.southwark.gov.uk/business/licences/roads-and-highway-licences.
  24. There was another one raised here recently: /forum/read.php?5,2229460#msg-2229634.
  25. Thanks. Please do let us know which, and any provided whys or wherefores of their decision..
