  1. > Artists also make interesting things > using pages from old books. https://www.tomphillips.co.uk/humument is the one that comes to my mind.
  2. > Vaccination walk-in centres are continuing to > operate across the borough in the coming weeks. > The list of locations is updated regularly, > so please check the website of the South East > London CCG for the latest information. Which is https://selondonccg.nhs.uk/what-we-do/covid-19/covid-19-vaccine/pop-up-clinics/. I'm not sure from the above whether this particular web page is quickly updated to reflect changes such as temporary shortage of vaccine. So reports here of any more observed disparities could be helpful.
  3. I've no particular domain knowledge, but I don't really understand the need for an editor at this stage, unless pehaps the MS is in such a state that it puts people off reading it, which doesn't seem to be the case so far. A publisher themself is going to want to have an editorial role; as can agents too, judging from the like of this article, one of several to be found: https://www.thebalancecareers.com/what-does-a-book-agent-do-to-get-your-book-published-2799883. I suspect that talking to a few agents, to gauge their interest, to get advice on what initial input they'd like, and so on, would be a good step. It's in their own interest to be helpful, interested and nurturing too. I hope you've had some useful off-forum responses too. [ETA: If not, I wonder if the Businesses section might be more fruitful.]

  5. Isn't there a difference between air filtration and ventilation?
  6. How what started?
  7. On some remote payment sites, such as Amazon, I've found that even when 'buying' a zero cost offer you get steered through the standard payment routine, and then at the payment stage get it confirmed that the payment due is ?0.00. Might that be the case here? I see that the paybyphone instructions do say the last two stages of the transaction are 10. You will then be shown a summary of your parking transaction 11. To confirm and start your session press Pay & Park So it looks safe to try that path without risk. Or has anyone tried it and found it's not possible here?

  9. There are quite a few other reports on the web. It looks to me as if almost all derive from thje police release https://news.met.police.uk/news/man-who-brandished-shotgun-at-victim-at-his-front-door-jailed-431601. That does include details of the three charges to which at various times the acccused pleaded guilty. They are all essentially firearms offences rather than offences against the person. The police release says "The circumstances around the incident continue to be investigated by detectives." There's also a report, maybe the only one that appears to come from a reporter who was present in the court, at https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9842985/Thug-posed-Amazon-delivery-driver-pulled-gun-father-jailed-six-years.html. It contains more information about the defendant, and quotes from his mitigation plea. It also includes "The victim did not want to proceed with a trial." which might conceivably be relevant to the scope of the charges.
  10. But might not at least the same be said about your apostrophe?
  11. If you want reliable information about the case, reading the judgment would be a good starting point.

  14. On previous form -- all here now deleted, but see the attached -- yes. The external webpage I mention there isn't available, but http://fitclick.com/www/community/ProfileWall.aspx?f=oliviabacker does even better. Several threads where ob and at least a couple of little friends take turn to introduce topics and feed in an URL or two. freestown7 also had an account here and majored in inane soccer questions. I've not seen franksmith1863 as such. There s/he tastefully uses a photo of a murdered man https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2019/jan/05/suspect-in-fatal-train-stabbing-arrested-police-say as their profile pic.

  17. This article, found following the Jam Factory reference, provides some useful background to the perceived need for Affordable Housing monitoring. https://www.insidehousing.co.uk/insight/insight/the-court-battles-over-section-106-delivery--56141. What, btw, is 'staircasing'?
  18. This is third insertion of a link to poseidonexpeditions.com, or action preparatory to it, all done in the last few days, two of them by known serial black hat SEO spmming accounts, such as this one, long known here. Poseidon Expeditions are risking their reputation by employing fraudulent black hat activity such as this. {ETA: It was reported this morning]
  19. I would try asking at the data input end. I guess phoning 0300 303 5667 at https://gov.wales/digital-nhs-covid-pass-available-wales-urgent-travel might be able to help shed some light on the current data propagation processes and how best to deal with the problem.
  20. A reminder that the weekend services are unaffected. Confirmed by the departures boards, at both the station and https://ojp.nationalrail.co.uk/service/ldbboard/dep/EDW, and by https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/service_disruptions/today.asp and https://www.southernrailway.com/coronavirus-information/revised-timetable#timetable.

  24. > Is there a Dominic Cummings translator > in the house, what's the trolleys for ? "Dominic Cummings has hit out at Boris Johnson?s indecisiveness and described him as ?a shopping trolley smashing from one side of the aisle to the other? as a part of a blistering attack on his apparent inability to lead the country as Prime Minister." https://www.cityam.com/indecisive-boris-johnson-a-shopping-trolley-smashing-between-aisles-says-cummings/ (26 May) Without having found this I'd have surmised DC meant something like "empty vehicle", "available to all", "gets filled up with whatever seems attractive or satisfying". Maybe those are to be found elsewhere in the corpus.
  25. > this is wat we get That's not very surprising. Use a Bookmark, or Favourite, or whatever your system calls them. If your browser's like mine it'll even provide a Bookmark Toolbar to allow single click/touch selection of your choice web pages. (The mouse cursor was hovering over mine in the attached.)
