nah its far from a bit harsh, the original poster seems to suggests that the presence of other persons namely families in local supermarkets is a great hinderence and inconvenience to him and that it is no place for them to be. as a father of two my kids like going to do the shopping with me and the wife, gives them a chance to look around and have a bit of input as to what food etc will be bought for that week, occasionally bump into a few school friends, and it also forms a bit of life experience for them. he points out "i would like to think that for a healthy, functional society here is room for people to make some allowances for how their choices affect the people they are sharing their space with?". maybe he would like to apply that principle to his own behaviour and be aware that there are others out there who have the choice and right to bring their kids shopping/to the park/cinema/pub/restaurant and that the world doesn,t revolve around him and his selfish attitude.

about 20 years ago i was in a new york jazz club, i went to the loo and frank sinatra was there before me having a slash. after a few star struck moments i asked him as a favour, if when he left the loo he would approach my table and act all surprised and shocked, saying something along the lines of "jim i havn,t seen you for years etc" and greet me like a long lost buddy, he actually agreed to do it. so a few minutes later i was sitting with my mate when suddenly frankie comes over right on cue and begins the act. my mates were flabbergasted espicially when i turned to frank and told him to fuck off as i was with company.

following on from the disasters which have hit the labour party over the past week's,the latest being the Glasgow east by election. one must ask the question is now the time for Gordon to go and for labour to get a new man in for when the party's return after the summer break, because if things continue at their present rate, i can only see one outcome at the next general election. at present i am torn between trying to decide if it is all due to general ineptitude on gordon's behalf, or if after 11 years we have had enough of labour and the love affair is over. unfortunately my head tells me its the first as some of the decisions recently made have struck me as hastily planned and ill thought out, eg the proposed response to the upsurge in stabbing incidents, and as for the 2p fuel increase. discuss.

Brendan Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Jimbob Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > nothing wrong with having 2 houses provided.... > > > you are not denying another family their chance > to have a home in which to raise their family. no i,m not actually, both the houses were vacant when i bought them, and from what i can see in the estate agents windows, there,s still plenty more available.
-
nothing wrong with having 2 houses provided they are used. we have the family home in east dulwich and in 1999 we bought a seaside residence in whitstable, where we spend every weekend, bank holiday etc. it is also used by friends and family on a very regular basis. called me greedy, call it unfair, but myself and the wife work pretty hard to be able to have the lifestyle and thats the choice we made to run the 2 houses. there was certainly no shortage of housing in whitstable when we bought and prices in 99 were certainly affordable, so do i now fell guilty that things have changed in the meantime, no i dont.

i should be grateful someone prescribed them in the first place, maybe if they had come to my house instead of me traipsing to the surgery, maybe if they had given me a thorough examination instead of a cursuory 30 second glance i might have done, but as they tend to get pretty well paid for their "trouble", i dont feel that its neccessary. so anyway the general concensus is that you dont know. in the interests of providing a service i,ll have a few scoops on sat and report back with the findings.

i tend to treat all persons asking me for my money equally, be it for charity, big issue, or someone begging on the street, i dont give them any, therefore there can be no accusations of bias. its my money that i work bloody hard for and i dont feel in anyway obliged to give it to someone else, no matter what the cause. call it selfish if you will but at the end of the day its my money end of story.

for the first time since i was a nipper i,ve been put on a course of antibiotics (penicillin v)for a nasty bout of tonsillitis. The problem is i,ve got a wedding to go to on saturday and would like to sink a few scoops if only to ease the pain in my throat. i,ve always been aware of the saying not to drink alcohol when taking antibiotics, is there any substance in this. jb.

Men:Well Are You A Gastro-Sexual Or Not?
Jimbob replied to Tony.London Suburbs's topic in The Lounge
i do all the cooking in my gaff, but gastrosexual is nothing to do with it, its merely a means of survival as jimbobbie is so bad she could literally burn water. -
which reminds me of the top tip in viz several years ago, telling local councils how they could save thousands on erecting expensive road signs to warn of accident hotspots, by simply tying a bunch of flowers to the nearest lamp-post. on a more sombre note, while it doesnt appear to be part of the culture in england to erect roadside memorials to accident victims, travel on the continent or ireland for that matter and the roads are dotted with them be it a simple cross, bunch of flowers or a more elaborate set-up, and for those of you chastising them as "tacky", "eyesores", etc, be aware they do represent a life lost, a family destroyed, and for those left behind a place to grieve and remember their lost one.
