If you?re in town, there?s a Cafe Nero with a massive basement to work in, just on the bookshop side of Picadilly.

Dulwich Picture house, there?s some tables down the back on the left. It?s quite and mostly empty.

Is this the guy voted in to get stuff ?done?? Re Big Ben sounding (or not) on Friday Asked about the controversy on Tuesday, the prime minister said the government was ?working up a plan so people can bung a bob for a Big Ben bong?. Several crowdfunders were set up to help raise money, one of which had amassed more than ?227,000 by Friday afternoon. But in an increasingly heated and farcical atmosphere, it subsequently transpired that the government had no such plan, and the House of Commons commission had no way of accepting public donations. In a bid to draw a line under the row, No 10 has now arranged a light show, featuring a clock counting down the minutes until 11pm ? midnight Brussels time ? when Britain will formally leave the European Union. Expect a continuation of these kind of lies. He?s on the record clearly lying his way through a number of things. Ireland, the border, this above and many more things. Like Trump, it?s become the new standard of leadership. Id like to say ?it?s a joke? but it?s not, it?s a reality.

As Fox says himself, his only gripe is with ?Brussels telling us what we can and cannot do? So let?s have what it is ?we? were trying to do before Brussels stepped in saying ?you can?t do that?? Because personally (and we live in the same city, same country etc) I can?t recall going to do something and someone or anyone telling me I couldn?t do that. I run a business, import stuff, have a house, have children, went wherever I fancied pretty much. Ate drank lived, and to my recollection nobody ever stopped me. Did I miss something? Please tell me Fox, or anyone else, so I can wet my appetite for the things I didn?t know I couldn?t do, but will be able to do in this new era.

The word according to St Jacob Rees-Mogg From the book of Mail Daily National confidence in the years ahead can be drawn from the distinction of this island?s story and from the recognition of the strength of the new position. We can embark on this new age with confidence and excitement. Over two millenniums since mighty Augustus quelled the unrest and strife in ancient Rome and brought in a new golden age, our auriferous* Prime Minister is bringing in a new era of revitalisation to our nation. (Grabs bucket to puke in)

It does hurt, specially after all the guff we?re being fed about Global Britain The shifting global context, a new relationship with Europe, and the need to deliver more with finite resources, requires us to evolve and enhance how we achieve our goals. We need to use government assets more cohesively and efficiently to maintain our global standing. Global Britain is about reinvesting in our relationships, championing the rules-based international order and demonstrating that the UK is open, outward-looking and confident on the world stage. https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/global-britain-delivering-on-our-international-ambition

Dickheads United! Against what? Does it matter, they are united, much like the Kingdom Actually, given the own goals ?we? *ahem* keep scoring, I think U.K. needs a rebrand I?m proposing KINGDOM UNITED, so it sounds like we?re a team, rather than a country. Ergo, you can support the team or not.

Metrication was bought in by the British Government. The EU has never banned pounds and ounces or other imperial measures. EU law does require metric measurements to be used ? though already in 1965, eight years before joining the EEC, the Wilson Government decided to initiate the UK?s metrication programme, in response to global moves in this direction. However, EU law has always allowed imperial measures to be used alongside metric ones. The Martyrs are against Metrication.

This whole blog is worth a read, but beware it?s a rabbit hole, leaving me feeling disheartened. Parts of it are funny, until you realise that the propaganda it represents has been systematically published by the tabloids and broadsheets over the years, and many distorted ?facts? have seeped into the psych of the country. Then to think that people put pen to paper in the ballot box, to express their impotent rage, is tragic. https://blogs.ec.europa.eu/ECintheUK/euromyths-a-z-index/ I think I?ll go back to bed, please wake me when this is all over.

Brick House Bread announced they aren't reopening
Seabag replied to Azalea's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
My yard is opposite The Snapery, they?re nice people. (they make a great chocolate brioche bun 👍🏽💥) It?s a shame about Brickhouse, on many levels, but the product from the above people is in the same spirit of making bread that Fergus and his team created. Well done to Franklins on supporting a SE London craft bakery (they?re based in South Bermondsey btw) -

Car stolen from Upland Road New Years day
Seabag replied to EDNate's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
One of my customers had the similar thing he told me today Near brand new Range Rover, stolen Christmas Eve using some kind of signal cloning technique. This was in Beckenham -
Love that. I don?t think it?s speeded up, it?s a fix gear bike, so you need to go like the clappers. The guy at the end has a very ?now? haircut, with a close fade to the crown. 👍🏽

I hear Christmas cake fried in butter and served with a a scoop of vanilla ice cream is good. Most likely defeats Sue's desire NOT to eat more cake, but it?s just a thought. Has it got nuts in Sue, day by day I?m tempted to ask for a slice. 😃👍🏽

Yes that?s him, the one and the same. Still 20 years in the foreign office probably meant that it took a little while to figure out the complexities and nuances of trading goods across the water from foreigners lands. Like how the heck are you meant to know these details, if not by working in the Foreign Office. That said, Whitehall is quite a long way from Dover, I?ve read Samuel Pepys diary and it took him days to get there tbh. So please, let?s cut Dom some slack here.

puwetter Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > My husband is a very helpful person and i must say > he was very vulnerable to fall for this scam but > it started with the guy's car not starting. We feel for you, and I?d imagine you?re somewhat embarrassed by the scam, but that?s why scams are what they are. In hindsight they stink, but at the time they appeal to people. But to help others, then maybe the facts outlined on here would be helpful. That way people are aware, and you?ve helped someone else avoid this type of thing. I was scammed out of ?5K last year, in a bank scam. It killed me as in hindsight I saw it, but I fell for it, and made me feel stupid and careless, but I?m none of those things. Luckily my bank eventually helped and I got it all back bar ?150, I was incredibly lucky. I still beat myself up over missing the signs, but talking to people helped. I realised I wasn?t alone in being scammed.
