  1. I wouldn't run across the Rye at night.
  2. Wot Sean said plus best cafe in ED IMO. Also sells a select range of eggs, fruit and veg and a few deli items. There's a tiny little courtyard out back, free wi-fi and papers, but opening times can be a little inconsistent (Possibly related to Chelsea's fortunes......they were possibly the dodgy blokes I saw hanging about....fellow chelsea fans! Thoroughly recommend Jack's, one of East Dulwich's hidden gems. Child friendly (room at the back)....Jesus it's not going to be the best kept secret now is it! now that you've gone and blown it's cover to the hoards of yummies in ED!!!!
  3. Can anyone tell me more about this place oppo The Mag? I've never been in because there has always been some dodgy looks blokes hanging about outside everytime I've been round. But walked passed today and had a peep through the door and the guy was outside setting up the tables and chairs. Look really lovely in there! Any info on the place.....?
  4. I am well aware thanks Loz why people vote for the BNP and the NF. Slightly OT as it may seem to you, I am worried that their backing is increasing.
  5. That is very scarey..I can't belive that the NF and BNP have scored so highly. So they pose a real threat to us sane Londoners ever, so you reckom? They are the supposed mouthpiece of the 'white working-class people'......?
  6. So would you recommend going there for a wedding anniversary, is it, you know...romantic at night?
  7. At least we didn't have The National Front running for place as well, like they did in Lewisham.....
  8. went in this morning and gave their espresso a go. And it was very strong and delicious! Congrats. When I'm not watching what I'm eating, I'll be sure to buy those lovely looking flans ...... yum.
  9. Yeah we all hope our homes being shot at are a 'one off'...Jesus how we live in this place?
  10. go onto Walk Jog Run and you can set your run in milesor km's. Easy.
  11. Now Muffins, I have to guess where you work! intriguing....
  12. Yeah I saw them as well. W*nkers.
  13. I work opposite the Old Bailey and the BEST crime I have seen on their website...is for COW-WORRYING...a laying of hand(s) upon a cow with intent. I kid you not. Brilliant. It also revealed that we sent 12 year old boys to death for stealing a piece of cloth....hhhmmmm.
  14. The locks have all been changed and the old ones are inside on the tables. Does repossession usually only happen if rent has not been paid? Sorry I'm not up on tenant/landlord issues.
  15. Why have you not rung the police and demanded they do something?
  16. A course in running? What's that all about? I just went out there and did it on my tod. Took me 30 minutes to run a mile the first time I went out!!!! and now I'm taking place in 10 mile runs all over the place for charity. Just get out there and do it and go on runners forums to learn the tricks of the trade. Alternatively, do a course. Whatever floats your boat. :))
  17. Hurray for another coffee shop. Now I can avoid Le Chandelier and Cafe Nero as they bore me!!!
  18. Holy F*cking Mother of God.....is pretty good.
  19. ah shucks.....well I may pop down at another time.....still defrosting the shoulder...
  20. Nah...some people think I'm a little outspoken and have given me the cold shoulder at previous drinks. Can't be arsed with that.
  21. I ahven't been to a forum drinks for some time....and looking at those snaps I hardly recognise anyone!..I'm deffo out of 'the loop'. Not that I was ever much in it in the first place......
  22. Alan Dale Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Incongruous orange person please. Stop being so serious. The place is naff and great and must stay.
  23. oh Jesus no! don't touch that place. When we moved in it was the first place we tip-toed into not knowing what to expect. We got hammered (and still do with every visit) on their Mcocktails! They are always heaving on a Saturday night. The upstairs is a great space but needs some tlc.
  24. So i ask again....does anyone know when it is actually selling up/closing?
  25. ...is in Northcote Road tonight on the BBC London News, talking to local residents about saving the independant retail outlets. Many high street chains have appeared in Northcote Road, pushing out the indies. Sound familiar? Martin Linton wants the help of local govt to step in to set up measures to prevent such loses. Should we invite him to the Lane to have a look? We can only wait to see what appears on LL next...
