Graffiti: A pathetic attempt at visibility or MODERN ART???? as far as I am concerned... there is no question at all.... go to the next Can Festival, see the artists at work, no one with half a brain could be then left asking that same old question! open your eyes... look around you, see london for what it is, in all its glory, grit and texture... of course there is some inane rubbish... but there is also some amazing art out there, work that bypasses the galleries and uses the street as it's canvass... bloody brilliant http://www.urban75.org/london/images/brick-lane-09.jpg http://pinewooddesign.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/banksy/Banksy3.jpg http://bartosik.org/scrapbook/cans_festival/cans.htm http://jetcomx.com/2008/05/06/banksys-art-gallery-from-the-cans-festival-in-london/ watch out... I could be inspired become the EDF online visual vandal if this post runs.... http://www.kabe243.com/blog/uploaded_images/this-is-awesome-graffiti-766765.jpg

Assisted suicide - yea or nay?
charliecharlie replied to silverfox's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Matthew P makes some good points in his article, the key one being the hypothetical danger of the state have the legal right to decide who should die and who should live (1984 scenarios spring to mind here... megaphones, 'your time is up" etc.) However thinking back to the Diane Petty case in 2002 http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/diane-pretty-loses-case-while-miss-b-dies-with-dignity-658602.html very grey, very messy and I am sure totally devastating for her husband and children... As Matthew P points out, it is clear that the law needs to have a better definition of the terms ?good faith?, ?all reasonable steps?, ?unbearable? and ?terminal? so that those involved in 'assisting' are given a less painful ride though the courts... I am absolutely pro voluntary euthanasia. In cases of terminal illness it seems appropriate and 'kind' to help those who wish to end their lives... if I any member of my family was terminally ill and of sound mind I would support them through assisted suicide... On a personal level I feel perfectly at one with the idea and hope, that by the time I may need to consider this as an option, there will be a a framework in place that better protects those who may feel able to assist me! -

http://www.cabiz.net/zolaric/ccposter.jpg this one appeared in my lawn overnight, think it must have been the drug dealers form the cafe in Choumert Road Maarket what did it... they must be mighty clever, cos they never get caught by the police, even though they are blatantly dealing in broad daylight.... how can that be????

charliecharlie replied to georgia's topic in The Lounge
[quote name='Georgia if people really want to go to a different venue on the Sunday I am going to have to leave it to someone else to arrange!] very fair comment Georgia... any offers for arranging the family thing? (no good suggesting me... you cheeky scamps...just in case anyone was going to suggest it' date=' that is... no kids!! and already organising a monthly EDF event at the Mag) Keef this sounds a fab idea... [quote=Perhaps we should try to organise a one off "Park Life" day, for a game of rounders, and a few cans of beer. That, I believe, was the original idea behind trying a Saturday. Don't know if it would work, but worth a try... Quote:'] Going forward... still wondering if there is a trend towards gettings better turn outs on Fridays? Do you have a feeling for this Georgia? 7th August - The Plough 5th September - The Gowlet both great ideas and so far looking good for me!!! thanks again Georgia (sorry I wimped out and did not wait longer on Sat!!) -
