I have often been to the Palmerston... the food has always be fantastic. The portions seem fine to me and I like the fact that they combine ingredients creatively and thus the dishes feel like a 'new experience'. I once had a starter which might not be everyones idea of bliss, as offal is not popular with all... but for me it as one of the most delicious things ever. Roast lambs hearts with beetroot and horseradish puree... there was just something about it that was so tasty - all the flavours were balanced, the heart was pipping hot and crispy on the out side, the beetroot added a lovely earth taste and the horseradish kicked to give bite at the end of the 'flavour line'... brilliant, I also had a very memorable roast pheasant in the winter, the fish dishes are always excellent... I love it there... The weekday lunch menu is great value... ?11.00 for two courses

type 'climate change' into Google and there are 49,800,000 web entries... here are just a few informed views on man's impact on the environment! it seems totally bizzare to me that there are some that are still doubting.... I'm with Brendan... why on earth would people be 'making it up'? what would be the benefit??? time to get over the conspiracy theory and start doing your bit!!! http://www.defra.gov.uk/ENVIRONMENT/climatechange/ http://www.climatechange.eu.com/ http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Environmentandgreenerliving/Thewiderenvironment/Climatechange/index.htm http://royalsociety.org/page.asp?id=4761&gclid=CLSy8IS665oCFZpM5QodvFpJBA http://www.climatecrisis.net/ http://www.bbc.co.uk/climate/ http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/climatechange/ http://www.carbontrust.co.uk/publications/publicationdetail?productid=CTC740&gclid=CPnewpS-65oCFQKhkwodCFm2CA http://www.dh.gov.uk/en/Publicationsandstatistics/Publications/PublicationsPolicyAndGuidance/DH_4007935 http://neatorama.cachefly.net/images/uploads/2007/01/manhattan_global_warmingjpg.jpg
thanks for this lousiana... tried it and was one point different on suiting green, lib dem or labour as my MEP option... which was exactly my predicament prior to doing the test (so none the wiser) either it's pretty accurate or I'm pretty unclear on who to vote for... and yes... of course I will vote don't vote, don't complain!!!

[???? quote=I think *Bob* and CharlieCharlie are your actual Forum experts on colour ] Well Rosie, it all depends on what you mean by 'exist in nature'... if you mean 'as seen by the human eye', then yes, manufacturers can match it, they now have highly complex scanners and software systems that can detect and copy micro variations in colour difference. If you mean 'as found in the natural world' (and again the definition of 'natural' is complex) ie plants, minerals, fauna, the elements etc. then it becomes more tricky... synthetic or chemical dyes and pigments can create 'unnatural' colours, ie day-go, fluorescent and what we call 'flip' in the trade, ie colours that appear to be totally different depending on the angle you view them from. The colour industry has invented all sort of 'special effect colours' which can not be found in the natural world, but can, however, be recognised by the human eye. For example, you could have a fluorescent, flip, metallic gloss... Then there is the thermochromic group which change colour depending on temperature, so are not constant. And to top it all, the metameric impact on colour (ie the fact that two colour samples on different sub-straights, may appear to be identical in one light source, but appear not to match at all in another type of light), makes defining and matching a colour problematic.
????' date=' just in case you thought I wasn't being serious about orange... thought i better put the record straight, [b']I was... Colour theory is a fascinating subject and very few people are aware of the direct impact colour has on physical and mental well being... the human eye can detect over 10 million colours, and each colour has a different impact (I could expand on some to the scientific research that has been done in this area but...) Interestingly, the brian has no capacity for accurately recording or remebering colour, so keep looking and keep enjoying http://farm1.static.flickr.com/148/412594713_8fc1fa4a53.jpg

Orange is often said to symbolise courage and creativity It is uplifting... It stimulates the appetite, social interaction and even the metabolism It refers to positivity, energy and warmth It is a vital colour in the food chain, Vit A, Vit C and so on Orange is a wonderful colour *Bob*, it even cheered up Rothko for a while http://www.artinthepicture.com/artists/Mark_Rothko/orange.jpeg

Giving Johnny Rotten a load of grief about getting his teeth fixed... some hope! Mind you I was somewhat off my face and he was at very close quarters... Surprisingly, he took it very well... http://www.pedestrian.tv/uploads/images/blogs/484776af62968/JohnnyRotten400x526.gif -

oh my god WMTD... you've turned into a human being... what on earth has happened to you????? [quote name=I generally shop on the "Manor" at the independents' date=' it's value for money, good choice & seasonal. In my work I get to travel round London and the home counties & I'm always coming across something new and sometimes fabulous. But as a whole area & in a city like London we are fairly spoilt here really. I do have a few out of the area recommendations. The Chinese supermarket in Camberwell grn for Prawns & shellfish 7 days a week. The bread stall in Northcote Road "Campilou"heaven. The Italian deli (usually has a sleeping cat in the window) on the one-way at the back of Kings cross stocks in season* Wild boar brawn from Sardinia, one slice on a warm plate with a spoon of soft pollenta eaten slowly....(oh i'm weeping) There is a fish shop on the Old wandsworth rd, just off the Vauxhall cross on the left nr the petrol station, it has a smokehouse & does an excellent smoked eel, eat warm with a thick thick slice of grilled streaky bacon and a grilled tomato , a little mash works well & wiff of Dijon mustard .....delightful .....Lastly W.R is probably the best value for seasonal game. Bear this in mind a Partridge at W.R is ?3.00 dressed and ready to cook. To go on a partridge shoot this year it will cost you ?13.00 per bird you shoot. So we get a great seasonal product & it's subsidised by the shoot.... a very nice "bargain" thankyou. ]

I am representing 22 and 15 and love them both...

i think all the local food shops are better in one way or another than the supermarkets Some are cheaper some are not, but all in all the experience is more human, more enjoyable, the food is reliably good (I have never bought bad food from any one of the local independents), you don't have to have 45 layers of plastic packaging on everything and they often seem to have a lot more locally or British sourced produce. (In M&S and Sainsburys this week practically all there veg came from Kenya and Egypt, what's wrong with Kent?) http://www.matlock.gov.uk/images/img9efb0641aba4da5897c0bce02e255170.jpg ps no... I am not shop keeper...
