  1. Your point being what? Kids in face masks all in black? Being going on in ED for years.. wake up, gangs are around or is this first time you have been aware.. No doubt your hubby walked away - probably ran when he felt safe..
  2. So why did you not do or say anything and made a point of saying black - since you did nothing why underline your whole message..
  3. Head Nun - bet you had shoes on - now if you had said I did it barefoot that is different….
  4. For clarity, since the heat seems to be getting to people - my friends in Hampshire, Essex, Cornwall tell me that the same insanity is happening there - probably in other counties to! I have in the past seen adults walking last year with young children with no hat or to the best of my knowledge suns-cream on and idiots in Dulwich Park allowing their children or who knows maybe it is the au pair or nanny taking the kids to the park when it is over 30 degrees.. I rest my case - doesn’t matter if you have 4 feet or 2 - 4 feet suffer more as generally have a coat and no protection on their feet / 2 feet at least have foot protection. Like I said, I am just joining the conversation - everyone has a right to their own opinion. For all you know or anyone, if a person has taken a dump might have been unwell, couldn’t find toilet in time.. numerous reasons - mental health problems, homeless whatever. Not pleasant I agree, but get a pair of rubber gloves and deal with it. We all live in the same community and in this heat with kids about, would have thought plus flies etc - do it if you live on the same street or area / people just walk past I assume and god knows how long council would take to come. Says nothing about human nature - not my problem… seems to be the way of the world in towns these days.
  5. What is wrong with calling a dog a woofer?
  6. Other people have also commented -
  7. Well if it was that obvious, post would not still be continuing!!
  8. Weather going to be hot from today thru to weekend so I hope all dog owners walk their pooches early in the morning or in the cool of the evening. Woofers can survive the odd day without going for walkies in the heat or having to race around with their pack in the heat. Try brain games with them around the house - hid treats for them to find, given them a kong.. Mental stimulation is as good and beneficial as walkies and does tire them out. And whilst on the subject of heat and dogs, do remember that leaving a couple of windows open while you run into a shop etc to get groceries etc …. Is not good enough / the inside of a car obviously gets very very hot… and one could be delayed in ship, thru no fault of your own - meanwhile, your woofer is suffering. Common sense really and if you are a new owner, probably really never thought it through ie walking dogs in heat or leaving them in car in heat. The majority of people on this site are caring, supportive people only offering advice, expressing concern when they see stupidity.
  9. Count yourselves lucky you are not Mitcham /Croydon way - according to news, hundred of homes without water. Can’t believe a company of this size are so inefficient or have so few staff. Criminal when you think of countries without alot of water or how far people walk to get water and yet here in west or UK in particular we just let it run away in torrents…
  10. All you are doing if that was to happen is diverting car drivers into or onto side roads. I am a car driver but hardly use b my car st all when zi am in ED - buses and train is so convenient and reliable. Having said that, not pleasant in heat with sweaty people, bo etc but that is life. Without doubt my breathing is worse when I am in London -Dockland and canary wharf is bearable and fresher. Not even with inhaler does it get sny better
  11. Personally, I would withhold money / unacceptable all round. Everywhere you look in London, something dug up byTW - well not literally everywhere but you know what I mean
  12. In the country, where I have relocated to these things and dealing with council for all matters are dealt with in days… freely admit less population than london. Certainly faster in everything. Not surprised at all about Thames Water - remember years ago calling them about a leak in road - then it took a week for them to come out, despite daily calls from me. Disgusting at that time the lack of concern and wastage of water. Unbelievable that they are not held to account fir anything and that goes for Southwark Council as well.
  13. I have taken to not using my phone on pavements in London period.. feel very vulnerable around ED anyhow as am alot slower with walking these days. When you-think about it, surely we can all last until get to cafe, hospital, train station, shop, etc without this overwhelming need to see/check phone! Bus times are usually accurate when you tip up and never long to wait for buses anyhow. I use my phone alot during the day for various reasons but, trying to not use it is the real test. I have found that you can always ask someone who, generally happy to accommodate. Lanyard that Sue has suggested - good idea but still phone is visible in this heat I would have thought, assuming she wars it round her neck so personally, think it is worse as bikers, gangs etc can just rip it off as they pass.
  14. Brings back memories
  15. Totally responsible - going to be worse for woofers tomorrow
  16. Ignorant owners / since ED is now full of middle class yuppies, yes very rude but I care not… one would hope that they would not drag their darling little kiddies out to the shops in the heat in case of heat stroke etc so why in gods name do they think it is acceptable to take their dogs out? If this is not ignorance or indeed cruelty, then please enlighten me….
  17. I thought there was only one Dulwich Library and that is on Lordship Lane/ Court Lane. Is there another one? If so since when?
  18. Thank you so much for this - really appreciate it.
  19. Can anyone tell me please, do they have a variety of veggie options or fish? thank you in advance - moved, so just wanted to check & menu is not big enough for me to enlarge or read.. think they do..
  20. Kingswood Community have things going on… not sure for this age group.
  21. Should have public liability by insurance, references from clients, years of experience, qualifications. If self employed, pension not your problem. On top of what you have mentioned. Hours of work? Day rate or hourly.
  22. Doubt you would have got much change out of £150.00 for battery and certainly having forked out for it, best to use your car. I recently sold my car via webuyanycar.com - very pleasant experience & was roughly what I was expecting. Pop your bangers reg jnto their website to get an idea of price - they do send e mails once a fortnight/month just as an aid for you. Easy enough to delete - don’t even have to read valuation. They literally buy any car - if you can’t get it to them, they will charge you to get it there or recommend a co that will do it for you. Must say, mine was a 2014 reg and whilst a bit suspicious, paid extra to get money into my account as needed it for next car but was assured funds had I not gone down route I took would be in my account within 5 days. I now live in the country - every time I have been back to Dulwich and surrounding area, normally get a fine for driving at wrong time or parking at wrong time so if I drive now, park in West or East Dulwich and do everything else by public transport and walking. Were I still to be living in ED then before I left was pondering this very issue but since I have been back regularly for health reason I no longer drive but take the train and then buses, walk or Uber. Much cheaper than running a car and had I stayed, that would have been the course I would have taken. I don’t go out everyday, have an allotment or job to go to or family so in my case, would be cheaper not to have a car. Was truely shocked at the cost of second hand cars…..but where I now live only has a smattering of buses so no choice but to have wheels to get from A to B etc.
  23. WOW… Money and politics talk… Belair House has been a lost cause for years - surprised it has survived as c long as it has….but, if rumours over the years are true, “foreign money” … Most people these days in the village and surrounding area and let’s face it, either have inherited house, invested for own wealth or bought to be in catchment area for schooling both private or state, left to go abroad and rented, or bought by actors, sold to Russians etc.. Local knowledge years ago what was happening -
  24. Dulwich folk well particularly ED folk have more money than certainly me - £4.00 for bread and butter? That is outrageous and I certainly would not pay £30 for an organic chicken - weird one is pate and runner beans combo. Don’t think butcher on Lordship Lane charges that but each to their own - live in Devon now and no way is an organic chicken that price!!
  25. Wow - you really mean £30.00 for a takeaway chicken? Dulwich folk have more money than me! As a matter of interest, what do you get?
