  1. I believe it's to do with laws on advertising boards, same way estate agents have to take their signs down within a certain time when a property is sold. Could be this rather than a direct attempt to suppress freedom of expression. It may be that it would be ok to indefinitely display the poster in the front window, just not on a billboard but someone who knows the law better than me can hopefully confirm.

  3. If you have one of those battery operated push button bells with the plug in ringer they sometimes ring spontaneously esp when the battery needs changing.
  4. If you live above a shop in Lordship Lane there are limited options for where to put rubbish and recycling which could definitely do with improvement. Just wondering if anyone who has lived in another borough in a flat above a shop has any good ideas from previous experience to bring to this meeting on 18 January.
  5. These pages are worth reading before you decide what to do; https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/small-claims-court/ https://www.gov.uk/make-court-claim-for-money
  6. http://www.bellhouse.co.uk/what-we-offer Have a look at the dyslexia support section at Bell House. They might be able to put you in touch with someone.
  7. Profitability is an issue because of competition. There are many companies competing to deliver parcels and royal mail is competing to keep their share of the market. There is no competition for delivery of letters and so letters and cards can be sidelined to focus staff on parcel delivery. You may believe that everything has to be delivered eventually but this is not the case as, in my personal experience, a significant amount of post never reaches its destination. I try to avoid posting letters and parcels with royal mail as much as possible because it is just not reliable.
  8. Bike for a 4-6ish yr old. In good condition so might have been stolen or maybe someone forgot to put it in their car and drove off??? PM me with a description and you can have it back for Christmas.
  9. Well if you're willing to go out for comedy....Ben Elton at the Harold Pinter Theatre... Hilarious Finishes on 30 December

  11. There is a camera at the junction of wood vale and the A205.
  12. Presumably you don't mean loads of paracetamol! Only 2 every 4-6 hrs with maximum of 8 per day. Paracetamol in overdose can be very serious. I did neither and was fine after every jab.
  13. Can you post the Registration number and make of car to look out for please.
  14. Incidences Used incorrectly instead of incidents ie more than one incident Not to be confused with Incidence (statistical term)
  15. You should report it to the emergency contact of UK power networks if you think there is live electricity through the metal frame. They will respond very quickly. www.ukpowernetworks.co.uk
  16. But if you were knocked over by a car and you were, for example, a self employed person who broke your wrist and couldn't work for a year, you could claim against the driver's insurance. If you are hit by an e scooter or a bicycle on a pavement in the above scenario then it's just your hard luck that you lose your livelihood. Isn't it time that bikes and escooters were registered, identifiable and required to have third party liability insurance in case if accident and stopped from riding on pavements (which the scooters frequently do at speed)
  17. A Charm of Goldfinches in the garden eating seeds from verbena bonariensis. I've only seen these three times in my life and all in the last few years
  18. On the front of a postbox it gives a list of collection dates and times, mostly every day except Sunday. But in addition there is a small metal plate at the top of the box with the day written on it. My understanding was that this plate was changed by the post person when they did a collection and indicated when the next collection would be. Today I have been to three post boxes and two had a metal plate with Monday inserted, meaning (as I understood) the next collection would be in one week on the Monday. One had a metal plate with Thursday on it which I take to mean the next collection at that box is Thursday ie in two days time. If this is the case then I now understand why the letters I have been sending first class are taking over a week to arrive. Does anyone know if royal mail have reduced their post box collections so dramatically as to pick up only once a week in this area? If so, this is very sneaky as we're paying for first class post and thinking that the post box will be emptied the next day when it may be the following week. I have made a complaint asking this question to Royal Mail and I am awaiting a response but if anyone can shed light on this, that would be helpful.
  19. It's NHS policy for all staff to wear masks in NHS premises so the cleaners should be wearing them as should all other members of staff as well as patients and visitors to NHS premises.
  20. Yes...leave. Virgin is dreadful in my experience.
  21. Probably best just to see the film and make up your own mind. May just be my imagination but seemed to me that some of the anti vaccine arguments I have heard could have been straight out of this plotline.
  22. Has it occurred to anyone else that the plot of the new James Bond film seems to contain the basis of the arguments that many antivaxxers are putting forward. Was there a security leak from the film crew pre release??
  23. Also difficult to get planning permission for a higher building than those adjacent. Lordship lane estate already has 6 storey blocks
  24. Your lost card has been found on belvoir road. PM me to collect.
  25. www.eliteorthodontics.co.uk/orthodontists/dr-mahmoud-pourghadiri/ Dr Pourghadiri did an amazing job with my son's teeth and he works with the adjacent dental practice (link below). Sadly my children are now too old to go there but they really helped us after a terrible experience at Kings dental hospital. They are particularly good for difficult dental problems and for small children who won't cooperate with the dentist. Wasn't cheap and obviously not local but was worth the investment. wpddentistry.co.uk/
