  1. A Charm of Goldfinches in the garden eating seeds from verbena bonariensis. I've only seen these three times in my life and all in the last few years
  2. On the front of a postbox it gives a list of collection dates and times, mostly every day except Sunday. But in addition there is a small metal plate at the top of the box with the day written on it. My understanding was that this plate was changed by the post person when they did a collection and indicated when the next collection would be. Today I have been to three post boxes and two had a metal plate with Monday inserted, meaning (as I understood) the next collection would be in one week on the Monday. One had a metal plate with Thursday on it which I take to mean the next collection at that box is Thursday ie in two days time. If this is the case then I now understand why the letters I have been sending first class are taking over a week to arrive. Does anyone know if royal mail have reduced their post box collections so dramatically as to pick up only once a week in this area? If so, this is very sneaky as we're paying for first class post and thinking that the post box will be emptied the next day when it may be the following week. I have made a complaint asking this question to Royal Mail and I am awaiting a response but if anyone can shed light on this, that would be helpful.
  3. It's NHS policy for all staff to wear masks in NHS premises so the cleaners should be wearing them as should all other members of staff as well as patients and visitors to NHS premises.
  4. Yes...leave. Virgin is dreadful in my experience.
  5. Probably best just to see the film and make up your own mind. May just be my imagination but seemed to me that some of the anti vaccine arguments I have heard could have been straight out of this plotline.
  6. Has it occurred to anyone else that the plot of the new James Bond film seems to contain the basis of the arguments that many antivaxxers are putting forward. Was there a security leak from the film crew pre release??
  7. Also difficult to get planning permission for a higher building than those adjacent. Lordship lane estate already has 6 storey blocks
  8. Your lost card has been found on belvoir road. PM me to collect.
  9. www.eliteorthodontics.co.uk/orthodontists/dr-mahmoud-pourghadiri/ Dr Pourghadiri did an amazing job with my son's teeth and he works with the adjacent dental practice (link below). Sadly my children are now too old to go there but they really helped us after a terrible experience at Kings dental hospital. They are particularly good for difficult dental problems and for small children who won't cooperate with the dentist. Wasn't cheap and obviously not local but was worth the investment. wpddentistry.co.uk/

    ulez zone ??

High risk strategy. If you think you've found a crafty route and you use it several times and you don't spot the one camera on that route you could end up with a stack of fines that arrive all at once two weeks later. Congestion Charge cameras are at the boundaries and in the zone so if you move around, even if you don't cross a boundary, you will likely be caught on camera. ULEZ will be the same

    ulez zone ??

Look for a camera at every road junction with the south circular. They are black and look a bit like a pair of binoculars.Quute discreet. Register for auto-pay. It's ?10 to register a car but you save ?2.50 for each charge and then you can at least be sure you won't be caught out and receive a big fine

    ulez zone ??

You can drive around as much as you like but you will be charged if your car is not ULEZ compliant. The cameras are installed within the zone and at the boundaries. If you haven't seen them then you just haven't noticed them.
  13. Sounds highly dubious to me.
  14. English Pastoral: An Inheritance Book by James Rebanks This is worth reading to give an understanding of the damage we are doing to people, communities and the environment in our drive to produce ever increasing amounts of cheap food.
  15. Didn't think Councillors were allowed to post comments with a political bias under a pseudonym? Bicknell Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > i am confused. @malumbu is Cllr.leeming?

Important to remember that Lewis Schaffer is a comedian from New York, USA and not actually an English Mediaeval historian!
  18. How about petitioning the council to find a solution to refuse disposal and collection for residents of flats above shops in Lordship Lane? Council advice to keep the refuse (eg food and nappies!)inside your flat for a week until collection day isn't very helpful.
  19. There are no fines for driving down court lane and back out again.
  20. Try Athenlay athenlayfootballclub.org.uk
  21. Here's a photo of one in Underhill Road. The problem with thinking you can avoid the cameras is that you don't know you've been fined until a few weeks later when the PCN arrives and if you did the same journey several times, several PCNs can arrive at once and give you a very big shock. If you set up auto-pay with TFL, then you pay ?10 instead of ?12 and if you get caught on camera without knowing it, at least you won't get a PCN.
  22. The cameras are already in place at the borders of the ULEZ and within it. You just need to look more carefully.
  23. I've been told it means a new shipment of drugs has arrived!!!
  24. Some horrible b****** has broken into my builder's locked and secured van today in broad daylight and stolen an expensive load of tools. Heartbreaking. If anyone saw anything please message me. It's Underhill Road near to junction with Melford Road. I don't know what the solution is for builders because they cannot empty the whole van of stuff every day for every job and this is a major problem at the moment.
  25. For those carnivores in Dulwich there is a lovely new butcher in Dulwich Village called Proud Sow. Worth a visit for very delicious meaty produce and also some good cheeses. They have been trading for a long while in Crofton Park and this a new branch.
