  6. Or even Mellow Mellow Birds with Vodka? Sounds awesome thanks! aherm Brilliant idea Big Number 5 I walk past Monmouth @ Borough on the way to work and had seen it's always rammed but had a feeling it could be expensive. I will investigate... (although you've done most of it for me) So Illy, Lavazza and Monmouth are all options so far. Although I like the "Monmouth guest coffee" idea. A good fit for the venture I think. Thanks
  7. I think perhaps at school in late 80s yes.... but not since then. There was always this very annoying advert which has stuck in my mind forever.... puts Lynx into a better light no?
  8. Lemon Grove? Hmm I will ask in there perhaps. They certianly aren't competition so they shouldn't have any issues divulging Thanks BBW. Point taken Queenie ... we will only serve with individual cafetieres for sure
  9. Hi All, Within the next month Mrs Benjaminty opens a new venture. As part of this venture she needs to be providing refreshments to her clientele. Whilst both of us are tea drinkers, we know nothing about coffee. We are not looking to have a Gaggia at the moment but simply have cafetieres, as this will keep the coffee hotter for longer (apparently). So with this set up the only thing to consider is which coffee to offer. All refreshments are complimentary and whilst looking to provide a quality coffee, equally don't want this to be too expensive. Any thoughts? Have you had a business where refreshmenst were complimentary? what did you offer? All input welcome. N.B. Venture will not be in East Dulwich.
  10. Last Friday was best and busiest I've seen it in a while (apart from my last lucky 7s night)... My American Hot was daaaaam hot ... loved it. Infact I may go more of the same tonight.
  11. Snorky - you sound like you know a thing or two about this. So is the answer to hassle council to keep the branches under control thus preventing creeping roots? The tree is a London Plain and isn't dying... that I know of. This property is falls under Croydon council so I don't know if they will be any easier to get any settlement out of. Chuff - do you mind me asking how much the claim was for and who is offering you cover now? My renewal is well over ?3k and my only alternative at the moment is paying Direct Line a measely ?400 a year and excluding all subsidence cover.... not something I realy want to entertain...
  12. Hi, I have been waiting patiently (18 months) for an insurer to monitor a property which had the signs of significant movement. Many cracks in walls on both floors at the front of the house. Eventually the surveyors and insurers have come back stating that they will cover it and it is as a result of the council not cutting back the tree that is on the pavement at the front of the house and the tree's roots then creeping under the house. Whilst the insurers will cover the cost of the damage I am now looking at a whacking great big renewal premium which I find a little hard to stomach. Claim reserve currently at ?15k and not yet had the work done. I've seen insurance can be taken out with councils to ensure this does not happen but in lieu of such a policy, does anyone know if I (or the insurer) have significant justification to seek damages from the council? Any advice gratefully received. BT
  13. This was my all time love. I ended up selling in 2005 and have missed it ever since... a cult car and will become much rarer The only car I've ever had that when I put my foot down properly I really couldn't get my eyes to focus. Fantastic fun but hairy in the wet.
  14. ordering my kebab when in the queue at fat fighters waiting to be weighed...
  15. they'd been up for sale for well over a year.... at a pretty high price. Has the price dropped and someone now taking a punt on the site?
  16. Hi Sean Well I didn't want to draw attention to the people involved but simply the issue and need to address this once and for all. Are you aware of who I'm talking about or have you seen some of my previous posts (whinges)?
  17. Wrote to Environmental Customer Services, James Barber, Jonathan Mitchell and Richard Thomas. With photos and dated. And not a single response.
  18. I have suspected for quite a while that a local business is paying off parking attendants so that he never received tickets on his many cars that are parked nearby. I have written to the council about this with photographs and completely ignored. This morning Mrs Benjaminty was putting recycling out and saw a Council Lowloader parked up and about to lift an offending car. The owner of the local business came out had a word with the driver out of sight and the driver simply packed up and drove off. The many cars that are left on this road often don't move for months and take up space that residents should be able to use. Anyone suggest a way of addressing this with the council? A new tack I can take?
  19. A mate of mine ended up taking it the day before going on a plane... he had wood for the whole plane journey and a crazy headache. Not sure if increase chance of DVT?

  24. well we made an offer on Woolwich in Borough High St opposite the market a year ago. A bookies apparently won it for 225% of the asking price! And now there is an amusement arcade there that is empty ever day of the week. Not sure it was the best way to spend a 7 figure sum. Most Woolwich sites seem to have been bought by bookies or other banks. Who knows what will become of this....
