  4. That's a serious bit of info there from all of you! I've asked around and seems the White Horse and Power is the one to plumb for. So drought no longer a possibility! Thanks one and all.... much appreciated!
  5. Hi All, I'm leaving my client this week and trying to work out where to have leaving drinks around Victoria / St James Park area. I'm NOT happy going to Adam n Eve, Slag n Cabbage or Ha Ha's and would like a decent lively pub or bar. Anyone work in the vicinity and have any ideas? A selection of decent ales/lagers in bottle and on tap would be a bonus. Where do the Channel 4'ers hang out other than the Camel? (not sure if that's a good or bad measure) Please help...
  6. think this should answer your question.... sorry everyone. A really poor one is the latest slimfast one.... really what does the ad have to do with Slimfast?
  7. swings 'n' roundabouts... I had a bright orange lampost outside my house that lit up my bedroom all night .... I now have a a white light on the other side of the road... far better for me
  8. a rival website? who pray tell? do you have a link?
  9. Hmmmm why hasn't anyone called her bluff? If she knocks I'm going to find out which hospital and offer her a lift ... be quite pushy about it and see what happens... I'm not working today .... really need her to call and make my day a little more interesting.
  10. Nice .... I'll give that a go then. I've seen a few interesting looking ciders in there but know very little about them and cider in general... will dabble this weekend I reckon and report back.

What's the Oxford Gold like DC?
  12. Whitstable Bay Ale .. sold in Bossman (surely he meant Boosman / boozeman) Also had it on tap in Prince of Wales in Kennington at the weekend .... havent seen it anywhere else on tap in ED. Not a wine authority I'm afraid.
  13. Thanks Moos - I'm perusing now and may well take a punt. Anything you've tried and either loved or hated?
  14. MW74, Sorry no I'm South London (BnB)... just saw travelling to a "do" just a good challenge...
  15. you're going on holiday and you will be sunbathing right? hence your worry about looking like a lobster? Wouldn't you be better off having a few light sunbeds to start your colouring.... then sit in the sun with a bit more colour and then less risk of burning? just an idea ...... I'm expecting to get shot down by those that are knowledgeable ...
  16. It has to be going down for a crime I did not commit. Can you imagine doing 20+ for something you didnt do? I had a mate arrested for armed robbery a long time ago ... he didnt do it or have any connections but initially he couldnt prove his innocence. Frightening.

Will never forget that sweaty basement with the ceiling literally dripping... urgh (loved it) I will now admit to going to the Blue Orchid once or twice.... perhpas '88 '89 and Bon Bonnies on a wednesday night... well could go to Worthing every night of the week could I? Could I? hmmm
  18. I went to some do's at the Lazerdrome in early nineties.... i keep trying to work out where it was but reckon it was at the very bottom of the rye.... did there used to be a pub called kings n queens there on the corner?? Bouncers use to have huge swords that they'd brandish if anyone got out of line..... oh yes all good fun. what was I thinking?
  19. Sorry just seen this thread. I've been meaning to get to the quacks now for 2 months ... something I can live with but shouldnt have to and is pretty painful. I was just told on my call back that there is nothing really wrong with me and go and get some ibugel to help the ailments. Can't help feeling I've just been fobbed off because I'm not bleeding from my eye balls. Sorry I havent read the 6 pages worth of thread but guess the is the standard type of response being discussed (disgust????) So I'd added my tuppence worth...
  20. and didn't whirly gig used to be at Happy Jax under the arches in London Bridge? Very odd ... cant believe it's still going!!!!
  21. Wow so many there have sparked some great memories... (hazy they have to be said) A group of us back in '89 started a radio station called LNO radio and went on do pretty well in pirate terms..... started the same time as Centreforce and Sunrise etc.... LNO went on to become Dream FM and is still going online I believe. Meant that we ended up doing a lot of parties and clubs all over the joint. Energy (The Edge in Coventry and fields in Cambridgeshire) Sterns (always good fun trying to get your car out of the mud) Astoria (Crazy Gang night - inflatable castles on the stage and ridiculous lazers) Wag Club and Brain in Soho.. Tasco Warehouse in Plumstead Orange at the Rocket Holloway Road Heaven under the arches Charing X on a Thursday night (hmmm my first full strip search in the back of a police van) Subterrainea Velvet Underground Bagleys Battersea Film Studios Escape in Brighton for all dayers And many silly long distance jaunts to airports, fields .. and one ridiculous New Years Eve in a WH Smiths Warehouse in Bow... I still have a hell of a lot of flyers from late 80s early 90s put into a huge frame back at family home... I'm sure my mother looks at it with pride!
  22. is it closing down ... or just falling down? surely one forces the other
  23. I reckon so ..... I kinda hope so.... not sure if we can get in yet but I'm stuck at my desk still.
  24. Mrs Benjaminty can't get in our house... and apparently someone has dropped off an explosive device to the Police Station.. M&S playing hard ball? Anyone know any more info?
  25. I havent had it for yonks (Living South that is - before any smart ar5e responds) .... and quite sadly complained to Living South at the lack of it over last few months. They sent one in the post for April but still havent had June edition. Useless! I'm looking for the ads in the back for certain traders...
