  1. James, this is not a council survey, it is your political party survey. And it is at best random. A council led consultation would consult with every household within a proposed CPZ area. Your survey is designed for identifying residents that might support your political agenda, nothing more.
  2. But I would also say that PeckhamGuy (like anyone else) has to take repsonsibility for what he writes. He could have responded by saying that he hadn't looked at the site properly but on a second viewing he could see the problems with it. But he didn't. Instead he choose to laugh at everyone with snowflake emojis. The far right often use reported cases of criminal behaviour from individuals that come from the groups they seek to demonise to justify their hatred. The rational response is to counter that with reported cases where white Brits have engaged in criminal behaviour. The point being that all types of people are capable of heinous crime. PG seemed to argue that context and agenda does not matter in the selection of which cases to highlight on that site. That is either genuine stupidity, or deliberate trolling or an alignment with the views expressed by the site. That is the question PG seems reluctant to answer and it is perfectly ok for others to ask it.
  3. Quite. It could not be clearer. They what to know who you are and how you are likely to vote for one reason only, which has nothing to do with CPZones. It is the dishonesty behind some of the purpose for the survey that is irritating people James.
  4. LOL Penguin. Agree with everyone else. This is not a survey genuinely only interested in a balanced perspective of views, it is an exercise to find a canvassing hit list for (I presume) the coming local elections.
  5. Trolling on a forum that he advertises hi livelihood on - not very smart either way is it.
  6. Do you really think there is nothing extreme or worthy of condemnation on that site PeckhamGuy? It is a simple question, one simple emough that even you should be anle to answer. And when you answer that question, take a look at your deleted post again (it is copied in the following post) and have a really good think about it.

It is not just fishing that could hit the bottom, it's agriculture too. Farming has the benefit of huge EU subsidies and protections from foreign competition. Half our food exports are to the EU. The subsidies alone amount to ?3bn. Are the government going to replace that? There is a growing queue of beneficiaries of current EU funding making a play for that ?11bn in membership fee we are going to save.
  8. And ultimately, the council can invoke a CPO. So Meadow can not win on this. One way or another they will be forced to sell to the council. It is just a question of how much for. Meadow really couldn't care less about the football club though - and that is perhaps the most ruthless aspect to this.
  9. So now you are assuming to apply motive in yet another of your trademark essays in reply to a simple short post. This is why you get into rows with people on here again and again. Drop the sarcasm at the end and stop jumping down people's throats when they have a different view to your own. There is information in your post that I did not know, which is useful. But it still remains that it is a pub, orperating as a business. It is not a charity. And there are plenty of organisations that are not business enterprises or pubs, doing all the things you list above in communities everywhere. I am not telling anyone not to buy shares am I? All I have said is that as an enterprise it is just breaking even (which is true) and that there is no return on buying shares, which is also true. And finally, it is up to the individual where they choose to donate their money. And it is perfectly fine to have a view on that too. In reply to Sheff.... This is what all businesses do. They feed into the local economy. I'm just not sure what the purpose of the shareholder equity is within the model of a business, when there is neither no return, nor option to cash in the shares when there are rules like DF cites above.
  10. But if I want to 'donate' money to something, I can pick any number of charities that do something more meaningful than a pub for example. I don't doubt for one moment the achievement here. Just breaking even in any pub these days seems to be a challenge for a lot of publicans. But when a business seeks to sell more 'shares' there is usually a reason for needing to raise the extra finance. Dismissing my point with comments about dull ISA's and stuff is just infantile. I looked at Sue's link. I looked at the financial reports, and I should be able to say what I think from that.
  11. Isn't it like most forums? A heady mix of sanity and madness alike. No-one forces anyone to read anything and different people will take different things from it.
  12. It's not the first bonkers exchange here, and probably won't be the last either :)
  13. Looking at the financial records it has struggled to make a profit year on year, making a small loss in 15 and a bigger one in 16. before cancelling out those losses with slightly bigger profit in 17. Seems to be just about breaking even overall (after 5 years). At ?100 a share, seems a bit risky.
  14. 2wans.... It is called canvassing and all political parties do it, especially when they have a sitting councillor (as ED does), all year round. Why? Because it is a good way to ask people if there is anything they would like to see the council address or do better. They will even happily chat with trouble making trolls like you.
  15. Yes Springtime - I mean Britain First - although I don't think there is any difference between the two groups in reality. Hatred is usually learned UG. Learned from peers, family, culture, media etc. It takes a number of approaches to combat it.
  16. Of course they should be challenged, but it is getting that balance right between feeding their egos and keeping them at bay that is the trick. The two vile creatuers that lead the EDL are currently in prison, so the law catches up with them eventually.
  17. He deleted his first post because it was indefensible and he knows it. But it is quoted in the following post, so still there for everyone to see. Far right groups are pretty small affairs in reality (ever seen how few people turn out on an EDL march?) and so fly postering is a preferred method of creating an illusion of wider support than actually exists.
  18. There are reasons for narrow flight paths - ask any flight controller. Heathrow does periodically change it's fight paths though.
  19. It was a good turnout. A bit cold for the kids but we bribed them with the promise of a treat from Sainsburys! Good speeches from everyone. The key message was to keep going to games at the temporary home to keep the income coming in.
  20. We are still coming. The Kids love the snow anyway!
  21. The next time Pipsky asks for information folks, ignore him/her.
  22. It was in response to your query Pipsky and all you had to do was respond privately. It is not a political message at all. Publishing a private message in the public forum is poor form and let that be a warning to anyone that ever messages you in the future. Fortunately it contains nothing confidential but I have asked the administrator to remove it.
  23. Agreed. There is no harm is seeing your GP and having a health check. What tends to happen in winter is that person gets a cold, cough or chest infection, and the immune system doesn't quite recover enough to stave off the rounds of other viruses, or even a recurrence of the original infection. Diet can go a long way to helping the immune system though, as well as making sure you are getting enough sleep, and exercise.

Agreed, but the EU is not the cause of the decline and leaving it won't change the pressure of a global market in which the east and China are the new industrial powers.
