  1. No - the post yesterday requesting help was three months after the last chat about it - so it's not resolved and the dog is still distress barking every day
  2. Sue, and? that was months ago, the situation has not improved and people are concerned about the dogs welfare.
  3. we need an address to report it to the council can't you find out where it is and go and speak to the people? Owners, neighbours....
  4. They are spectacular! We have been inundated with butterflies this year but I'll now keep a proper lookout.
  5. Given the level of care in Dulwich Park, I would not expect this to be careless or unnecessary. It will grow back.
  6. Given its location, a nice little deli would be good.
  7. "if you have to ask, you can't afford it" ????
  8. Well, for that very reason, I think people who tend to like gardening and cultivating plants tend not to do it
  9. Sue. 1. Taking cuttings or digging plants up from private land is illegal 2. Picking flowers on cultivated land (verges, parks roundabouts etc) is illegal 3. Taking cuttings (from non private land) is not illegal unless it damages the plant as it is not uprooting the plant. You can look online if you want more details - it's readily available information Whether plants are worth growing or not is subjective and you can decide that for yourself. We all like and value different things.
  10. Well, yes, if you think plants worth growing only grow on private land
  11. well, if it's from someone's property - yes.
  12. and usually they are not noticeable but I think people who take cuttings are very different to people who dig up plants and cut flowers.
  13. There was a whole spate of entire plants being dug up and stolen from gardens. Cuttings is still a little naughty but really depends on the size of the plant, if it's hanging over the pavement etc. It's not ok to be digging through someone's flowerbed though, and certainly not to pick someone's flowers - you can just ask first.
  14. Looks nice. Nice to see paper bags and cucumbers that aren’t plastic wrapped. Herne Hill also has a good veg shop.
  15. surely if the police attended when there was a call, there would be a good chance of catching them in the act, or at least the area.
  16. I think there are companies that collect pallets, have a search for used pallet collection
  17. If you have any please let me know thanks Angelina
  18. Regardless of not having booked in advance, I would still reach out and explain your circumstances - they may have cancellation or be able to accomodate. I typed this into search and it cam up with a number of options "london kids science school hol clubs"
  19. I didn't know there was a word for that — thanks!
  20. really, it's the fact that a chain is muscling in when there is already one in a small area - if it was just a chain coming to a new area, it's a little different
  21. why not have a pasty shop - we could have Cornish pasties, Jamaican patties, empanadas from all the different regions.... I like all three. I'm still going to support the Chacarero family business, as I don't support chains, just as I don't buy anything from Gail's, Nero, Starbucks etc.
  22. You really have to go and look at the schools yourself, and do some research. My children went to the same school in different years and had very different experiences. Different school focus on different things. It's very personal. We bought close to the school I wanted to go to, and then moved a bit later, when they were old enough to travel on their own.
  23. It’s about chains, and the ethos of family run business versus unhealthy competition
  24. Turf and surf third item in the main courses
  25. Has anyone from the school commented? Have they said why? Is it a fresh start? Is it that Grove in the name may have connotations of wealth and they want to attract more applicants from a wider area? Is that it currently is linked to the DKH Estate?
