  1. It sounds very much as though they like using the chainsaws too much
  2. no you shouldn't post the address, just that anyone making a complaint will need the address to do so. ideally, you could work with local neighbours. Is there a street whatsapp group?
  3. just say yes you'd like all the work done - do they take credit as you have no money - when can they start
  4. If having been bitten has left you fearful of dogs, I’m sorry to hear that. You can report an attack, the owner is held liable ( Animals Act). I’d take photos of them and call the police.
  5. As a dog owner, I completely agree. I’ve been chased through the park by a dog, whose owner was completely ignoring it, in spite of me calling her, dog walkers who cannot control the number of dogs they walk, owners who don’t understand dog behaviour (yes, small dogs can be aggressive). It’s not all dog owners though, and it might be better to label them as socially inept people, because really the lack of respect for other people and self entitlement is the main characteristic.
  6. Isn’t that the same time that Sainsbury is open til? It’s hardly late
  7. No - the post yesterday requesting help was three months after the last chat about it - so it's not resolved and the dog is still distress barking every day
  8. Sue, and? that was months ago, the situation has not improved and people are concerned about the dogs welfare.
  9. we need an address to report it to the council can't you find out where it is and go and speak to the people? Owners, neighbours....
  10. They are spectacular! We have been inundated with butterflies this year but I'll now keep a proper lookout.
  11. Given the level of care in Dulwich Park, I would not expect this to be careless or unnecessary. It will grow back.
  12. Given its location, a nice little deli would be good.
  13. "if you have to ask, you can't afford it" ????
  14. Well, for that very reason, I think people who tend to like gardening and cultivating plants tend not to do it
  15. Sue. 1. Taking cuttings or digging plants up from private land is illegal 2. Picking flowers on cultivated land (verges, parks roundabouts etc) is illegal 3. Taking cuttings (from non private land) is not illegal unless it damages the plant as it is not uprooting the plant. You can look online if you want more details - it's readily available information Whether plants are worth growing or not is subjective and you can decide that for yourself. We all like and value different things.
  16. Well, yes, if you think plants worth growing only grow on private land
  17. well, if it's from someone's property - yes.
  18. and usually they are not noticeable but I think people who take cuttings are very different to people who dig up plants and cut flowers.
  19. There was a whole spate of entire plants being dug up and stolen from gardens. Cuttings is still a little naughty but really depends on the size of the plant, if it's hanging over the pavement etc. It's not ok to be digging through someone's flowerbed though, and certainly not to pick someone's flowers - you can just ask first.
  20. Looks nice. Nice to see paper bags and cucumbers that aren’t plastic wrapped. Herne Hill also has a good veg shop.
  21. surely if the police attended when there was a call, there would be a good chance of catching them in the act, or at least the area.
  22. I think there are companies that collect pallets, have a search for used pallet collection
  23. Regardless of not having booked in advance, I would still reach out and explain your circumstances - they may have cancellation or be able to accomodate. I typed this into search and it cam up with a number of options "london kids science school hol clubs"
  24. I didn't know there was a word for that — thanks!
  25. really, it's the fact that a chain is muscling in when there is already one in a small area - if it was just a chain coming to a new area, it's a little different
