  1. That’s exactly the reason that the LEA has rules in place which are enforced
  2. I can see what you’re concerned, as Southwark cover both your owned and rented properties. They would know you are renting out your own house to get a school place. All in the same borough
  3. Renting, is this as well or instead of your current residence?
  4. Rockets - I think you are telling half a story. Is cycling has reduced in relation to other modes of transport, do you mean overall numbers of cycling journeys have reduced and others have increased by the offset?, or that cycling hasn't increased as much as other types of journeys. And over what period? Winter? Please share the data for the top modes of transport so we can see.
  5. The Signal in Forest Hill is lovely
  6. I think we need a buffer to protect London from the Government. For that alone, Sadiq is a force we need. Local councils are a dismal experience though and could do with a big shake up
  7. I do - through extortionate Council Tax and income tax - the government has the highest taxable income/ revenue since WW2 and has increased debt at an astounding rate of £ millions per day. Where is that money going - and why do they now have to crowd fund - that's outrageous.
  8. hi - just wondering if anyone has experience of an easement and how to value it? We have an easement across the garden of one flat to provide access to the garden at the rear flat. We're looking to establish a monetary value as it's quite intrusive (right in front of the window). While I know that it's going to be based on various factors, just wondering if anyone has seen anything similar and how it was valued - looking to redraw the lease and plans to remove the Right of Way thanks
  9. You are lucky it wasn’t worse, perhaps a little lesson
  10. Vauxhall City Farm do it
  11. Thank you Brian - very helpful to know that.
  12. Hopefully the vet will be able to find his owners from his chip. I’d happily look after him, if it looks like he’s totally abandoned. Thank you for feeding him and keeping him warm
  13. You don't get riot please turn up for fraud or theft Proper South London has moved on? Really? in What way? Everyone's rich, warm, well fed and happy? Well I guess if you live in an expensive area you are shielded somewhat form the harsher realities
  14. Rules are rules and they are there for a reason. If the rules need to be changed, there is a process for that. Some traffic wardens could be considered to be jobsworths - eg hanging around outside schools and running to ticket parents dropping off for a few seconds (literally, I've witnessed it) but overall it's required to control the roads - parking included.
  15. Bubble tea is not healthy, it's basically syrup and tapioca, but each to their own. Happy about Screwfix. Bit of healthy competition and a step up from a new pizza place
  16. it's either one or two dogs on lots of walks or lots of people who are literally foul mannered
  17. I'm still not in receipt of my parcel - been to Highshore Road and now it's lost. It takes around an hour to get through on the phone number and the on hold music is diabolical.
  18. Headnun - it's hardly just Hamas though is it.
  19. I like your shopping style, Pugwash. I do the same, but don’t drive, so just get what I can carry and go to different shops. We sometimes do a huge shop to stock up and get a cab, but not needed very often. Lidl is cheap but bad with using non recyclable packaging. It does stop me buying things, as does animal welfare if I buy meat. I’d rather buy something else. We also cook rather than ready meals. It doesn’t take long and it means you have decent meals in the freezer. You can freeze rice too ( better than packet rice). Our rubbish is very small, we recycle nearly everything and have very low waste, and eat well and cheaply, and I work full time, with kids. it’s just easier than some people suggest. for instance, it takes 15mins to make a tray of chocolate brownies or a cake, and much cheaper than the shops.
  20. Yes, it must have done. It’s really nice there and dog friendly. Worth a visit
  21. It's pretty scandalous that there is an empty building which could be made good and used.
  22. Yes, understand. However you can still buy produce that is not plastic wrapped
  23. no, not the North St market - that's just silly. There is a fruit and veg shop further up but ED is far more expensive than Peckham/ Brixton/ HH for the same stuff. Coop and M&S also do non packaged fruit & veg at decent prices.
  24. That's a shame. I do hear of parcels being delivered to the wrong address frequently, as well as parcels being stolen. It's worth reporting any thefts to the police. It seems that safe receipt of the goods isn't a high priority. You can get Amazon delivered to lots of pick up places, maybe that's the safest option?
