  1. Yeh, just woke all of the little ones up. They weren’t massively loud, just very close
  2. please report this to the police - were there any witnesses? She should face charges. the owner should not allow dogs off lead - I'm so sorry this has happened. It would be good if you can identify her - are there cameras - in the cafes around? - follow her, find her address and report her. https://www.met.police.uk/advice/advice-and-information/ac/animal-crime/ also report to the park wardens so they can be found Your Local Council: Contact them to report issues in parks or public areas, especially if you know the dog or owner, as they investigate under local bylaws and the Dangerous Dogs Act. https://www.gov.uk/control-dog-public/report-a-dog
  3. Forest Hill looks lovely.
  4. Boxes, scrunched up tin foil or paper, and ping pong balls actually go a very long way! Laser pointers are also invaluable, as is anything string related. A Tabcat tracking device is also invaluable, Exciting times 😻
  5. So which companies use couriers who are untraceable, and leave the parcels if you’re not in? They’re the ones that need to be avoided.
  6. Why are some deliveries track able and others not?
  7. The point is to discover if there are ways of choosing who delivers to you and ensure your items are delivered securely. While it should be fine to have items on your doorstep, it’s not.
  8. I’m quite sure that when I bought from JL they said how it would be delivered when I was choosing delivery. Is that not the same when you buy from Amazon? If it didn’t say, or if I wasn’t happy with the names courier, I’d arrange to collect it if I couldn’t be home, as bigmacca1 says.
  9. The actual problem is thieves trespassing on your property and stealing your property. But yes, let’s list the companies we buy from who deliver carelessly and then we can collectively avoid them. I’ll start. John Lewis - has to be signed for Forthglade - has to be signed for Amazon - will leave on doorstep but detailed tracking is available so there is time to ask a neighbour to pick it up, or to be home yourself Ebay - seller specific. You can ask (before you buy/pay) for the item to be posted recorded delivery or with tracking. The things I bought all needed to be signed for.
  10. Porch Pirate? How about "Cheap Low Life Thieving Skank"
  11. I think it's outrageous that he thinks he can do this. This is about reducing waiting lists. How dare he seek to fundamentally change the judicial system to address administrative failings (for which he is responsible). Courts are notoriously slow. Judges are slow. Perhaps look at WHY there are so many cases - what's going on? is crime going through the roof? Why not more judges, why not look at how court admin is managed? We had one judge - over retirement age, who only worked once a week (possibly) and was slow, frail and no idea about emails etc. no sense of urgency. I actually complained which did hurry things up. This is not a dynamic private company who wants to get things done - it takes time, it's a complicated and thorough process. RIGHTLY SO. As least he's not lifting the lid on free legal aid and increasing the tax payers funding of it.
  12. hi Tom I'd ask a teenager. I'd lend you mine but they are asleep. Pop into a phone shop and ask for help with it. It's quite straightforward, but easier once you know.
  13. It’s literal. There are levels of earners. Those who don’t work and get benefits, those who work and get benefits, those who work but don’t get benefits. now, it’s an assumption that the last group are all wealthy, but that’s not the case. People in this last group are most exposed.. private rent, higher tax brackets, cost of living increases, yet they pay the most tax, and get no help. So many questions: why are workers needing to be subsidised? Should companies pay more? Should there be private rent caps? Why are people better off not working at all, or only working low hours to ensure they get benefits top ups? How do you think people respond to this? Do you realise that a number of companies are focussing on buying property? The banks, the supermarkets! Yet the government is squeezing individuals out of this equation. What do you think this will look like in the future? When foreign companies own the majority of UK property?
  14. That’s exactly what the budget did. You do realise the impact of tax band freezes? That’s precisely how she’s raised taxes. And tax on property income and dividends; but less of a money spinner
  15. Thank you New Wave
  16. overtaxing people, while taxing businesses, while increasing welfare but not increasing growth is NOT a solution.
  17. So there isn't a hole, we don't need to pay so much tax. Let's backtrack. Encourage growth, reduce waste. What a mess.
  18. Fascinating - you're actually picking up on the and overlooked critical point - is the infrastructure in place and able to support the additional number of occupants.
  19. We have an item that needs proper professional care, not a high street generic service. Any experience of the local ones please?
  20. It’s supposed to say “above £2m”. the point is that all levels will feel the impact of increased tax, but it’s more likely to affect those on low wages
  21. The next six years will be a real problem. When costs go up with inflation and then salaries go up with inflation (likely not as much), more of that increased income will be taxed, which means like for like, people will have earn more but pay more tax so have less money and things will cost more. Rents will also go up as tax on rental income will not come out of the landlord’s pocket. It’s not just the people who own houses love £2m that will suffer ( and £7k is less likely to be an impact than higher tax and rent for someone on minimum wage wage
  22. People pay a lot of tax. By 2031, this will be the highest tax paid ever. Coupled with the fact that the amount of debt we have and the amount we pay for that debt is also at an all time high, you can possibly understand why people are against paying more tax
  23. London is changing to an older wealthier population, due to inflated property values pushing younger people out to other areas ( unless or until they inherit). It doesn’t mean that they are rich, you can be asset rich and cash poor. It’s not the best way to increase taxes but it’s not really looking at being fair.
  24. There is nothing in the budget to promote growth, which is what we desperately need. The wealthiest pay more already, with the higher rate tax. I’m sure they can afford £7.5k but we need to encourage successful people and business to invest and stay in the country.
