  1. when I was at school and we did sponsored walks etc we'd have to get the completion form signed before we could collect the money.
  2. but do some have more right to not be offended than others....?
  3. I can't decide if I have lots of freetime because I avoid doing other stuff (cleaning kitchen floor etc that needs doing), or if I have so much freetime that I think doing stuff like cleaning is a valid use of my time. Either way, when I'm not at work, shopping or feeding the family, I just like chilling out with them all - whatever and whereever that is. At the mo, we're watching a cartoon about squirrela, drinking coffee, playing games and messing about on our devices. We've just been out skateboarding and playing on the swings and I've done loads of steps for my step challenge at work. #The most important moments in life are those in between doing the things you think are important#
  4. It's all sorted now
  5. they've just messaged me - "we're on site at the moment trying to get this fixed and flow restored". He's asked for my mobile so he can text me updates, which I'll share as I get them.
  6. I've not been out yet, so thanks for that!
  7. can't get through on phone -= just reported it via facebook. I don't use twitter so if anyone does, they also use that
  8. me neither - just off GG
  9. I don't think you can blame politicians' greed, selfishness, lack of competence and integrity on one person. That wouldn't be fair. You have to give them some merit for making that choice as individuals.
  10. my girls like mooching about in Shoreditch, which is easy to get to (Overground) - fab shops, food, etc
  11. what... our local Sainsbury on DKH? Are they not supporting this?
  12. Who cleans the loo daily? Are you sure you don't have high expectations? Perhaps you need to re-base your relationship - be very clear about what you want. Hopefully you can reach some agreement. Our house gets dirty quite quickly so cleaning it is a bit like painting the Fourth Bridge.
  13. People have different standards of cleanliness. Was he cleaner when he first moved in? or have you started to be more fussy? If it's the former, you need to remind him that there is an expectation that the rooms are kept clean and tidy - and what that looks like. If it's the latter then he may not have changed his behaviour at all so might not understand your point. If you get on well, tell him what's bothering you - after 18 months it would be nice if you were able to discuss it. Do you share a bathroom?
  14. yes, TheCat - you have been trolled. Did you hope for a balanced debate? High hopes....
  15. i wear what I want to work. I could probably be smarter, but I always look nice. One of the directors is always casual (jeans) but the guys rock up in suits every day. I think they are actually a bit scared of wearing shorts and would need an office-wide buy in before they would. I might actually do something about it - as I've just realised they might need (and appreciate) some help in this very sensitive matter. Footwear has come up in conversation. You can't wear trainers to work, so - what works with shorts in a more formal but edgy environment?
  16. It would have been suffice to say that they are council tenants - it would allude to steering a particular course of action, rather than private tenants, where you would have to do different things (contact landlord etc). All complaints against private tenants have to be investigated by the LL. However it comes across not like that at all - the only tenants causing a problem are council tenants - it's a bit of a snobby dig actually. The course of action for complaints against council tenants is well documented.
  17. not advisable at all. try pest control. Google has lots of numbers.
  18. If that were the case there would be repurcussions for what has happened, but that doesn't appear to be happening. So, the two do seem to be interwoven
  19. Yes Sue, they are a minority and therefore are privileged with tolerances because we're so scared of being labelled as racist/ intolerant
  20. Pricey, but if you've got cash to get priperly pampered....why the hell not? It has fab reviews.
  21. Threatening? JFC. So, I'm paying for clearing their crap, their kids are playing where they shite and this is ok? Whatever background or ethnicity, this is vile and abusive. They should be held to account and not play victims
  22. Snide and nasty. I suppose we all have conflicts within ourselves. I can be, but usually I'm kind, generous and tolerant. I do struggle with being patient with some people though. Who doesn't?
  23. The car has been in the street on and off for at least the year I've lived here. I've seen it loads of times.
  24. We're very conscious of wasting water. While we don't do enough we do use dishwater or bathwater for the plants and to fill buckets for the loo; turn water on off when cleaning teeth and showering rather than leaving it running and quick washes in washing macine. Any other tips would be gladly received.
