What on Earth makes you think May wants to leave the EU?
  2. sorry, but it is theft and there are alternatives available to stealing because you're hungry - when is it ever right?.
  3. Still
  4. I would suggest getting her an age appropriate flying toy. Open up her imagination and get her capable of flying first. Of course she's heard of drones but probably doesn't know what alternatives there are. https://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=remote+controlled+flying+toy&index=aps&tag=googhydr-21&ref=pd_sl_1wa8rmiea2_e&adgrpid=57901963903&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=294859420722&hvpos=1t1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4471935094287750844&hvqmt=e&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9045888&hvtargid=kwd-470518989487 Father Christmas always knows best and if he gave every little child that wanted a car a real car, well, he makes toys - right!
  5. Some people may be motivated by hunger, but that alone does not make moral people steal. There are alternatives to theft, food banks being one. What you do see is opportunistic theft - people who see an opportunity to get something for free for their own financial gain, be it cost avoidance or resell. Police are not interested, security are interested to a point and shop staff are instructued to not interfere but they can use physical presence to deter (i.e. I can see you). Once off the premises, the thief is gone. When people don't have money, this is an easy option. At least it's not violent. The impact for most people is the costs being covered by higher prices. The sad fact is, it's a reflection of society where people just don't give a hoot. The poor security guard in Primark who people just watched and filmed and laughed. There is a sense of entitlement people have and - serious to god - shoplifting from Primark? FFS.
  6. I've been told by a friend who runs a shop that the police won't attend for theft
  7. they can pick and choose their work and are probably too busy to call you. I had a similar with a plumber - I had a couple who didn't turn up as they had taken on bigger work.
  8. I have a ply floor (18mm) laid across the joists and want to know how thick the engineered wood needs to be to be load bearing please thanks

well that's worrying - whether she's got a way of wiggling this through, or if there's more to it that we don't know about.....??? there's a protest today if anyone's near.

so, actually worse than before. no control and no input. are we really expecting the cabinet to pass this? surely it's just impossibly blind.

I find all of this confusing. Is May actually working pro-EU and the Border/ Backstop is actually a distraction? There is so little fact - and not enough detail about it to warrant all the big headlines about it. It would appear that we are leaving but nothing is changing? apart from a divorce settlement. Do we actually know?
  13. First World problems. Pretty pathetic.
  14. Your son should also be able to volunteer at school e.g. helping with younger years PE classes. Ask and find out what they can offer.
  15. It reminds me of the "someone's left their Bentley in my street, it must be proceeds of crime" post.
  16. As last year - I can't make it due to work - I would if it was on a weekend :-(
  17. they all seem to be very deserving.
  18. just call them and say it is number 43 if nothing else, the people at number 43 will be able to say where it it
  19. no, I said my other half has late night bonfires and has a bbq for breakfast on the embers he loves staying up all night - not the same person, no.
  20. No one said he was having a bbq.
  21. someone having a bonfire on an allotment = criminal destroying evidence? really? Someone being overly paranoid is more likely. You can't burn knives anyway. I would have thought, close to bonfire night, someone was having a bonfire and stayed to watch it die down. The allotments have bonfires for Guy Fawkes night and we are talking Saturday night to Sunday morning. My other half lights our bonfires at night and usually stays up until 4/5am and then has a bbq for breakfast.
  22. I try to avoid them and have a few shopping bags we all use and keep using.
  23. re-use them or put them in recycling
  24. They're all amateurs. You'd think there would be a basic politician's introductory pack into what it means to be responsible/ honourable/ honest etc. Never mind. Interesting you turn the comments about the budget into a dig at Corbyn. He didn't set the budget.
