  1. thats an awful story, and, I'm sorry to say, quite common in these parts (clare C you have been lucky), scott, if you would pm me a description of the dog I can let you know if it is the same one which has been responsible for several attacks and is under an order to be kept on lead and muzzle? well done for helping x
  2. yep, afraid same here, you could try the savory pouches which is pretty much all little man will touch when teething xx
  3. normal...don't cry:(
  4. I know you ladies are really having an anxious time at the moment but just try and think of the day when you get to see your babies little face...its SOOOO exciting, oh my gosh I'm excitied for you, having said that if any of you ever catch me planning to have another baby, hit me with a brick!:)) PS: I did post a reply to prada-nics incredibly rude comments but admin took it off (no swear words honestly), apparently a bit too edgy for the family room!
  5. ok, so I'm hoping not to make it a habit but the other day I found baby poo dried on my forearm and encrusted onto my braclet, it must have been there a few hours while I was out and about, not sure why but it still makes me giggle! ps, fuschia...a new line in baby foods, you'll make a fortune!
  6. oh, good news, hopefully it will pass quickly x
  7. thats a shame as the wed clinic was heaving yesterday, I waited an hour then left without bothering to get him weighed, an alternate day would have been nice!
  8. but seriously...I haven't felt the need to twitch in the direction of my purse once...it is actually quite cool, almost compelling me to sort out my house...almost...
  9. bah humbug, spent all morning in the park and not a famous hunk insight...thats definately pots with an 's' then is it ladies???:))
  10. oh no mich that sounds awful, thoughts with you. Did you just use ibuprofen to bring her temp down? or other measures such as cool flannels etc? You don't say what age your daughter is but for entertainment there is some great stuff online, my little man is a big fan of the computer at 6.5mths, the ceebeebies site has songs etc (the big fish little fish song by bob the builder is awesome and you can dance along providing much amusement to little ones) also will put a link to another great site at the end of my post, get well soon x http://www.mostlymommies.com/games.html
  11. Oooo, designer knickers in a twist? After a day away from the forum I return to personal insults...classy? Obviously not someone who responds well to being challenged, or, as in this case, proved entirely wrong! Perhaps from such a high horse it is difficult to read the PC screen, but, the quote from the WHO, clearly demonstrates that in some cases it is possible to resuscitate a stillborn baby. Indeed that is the whole point of resuscitation; http://dictionary.cambridge.org/define.asp?key=67462&dict=CALD resuscitate: verb [T] to bring someone or something back to life or consciousness: Her heart had stopped, but the doctors successfully resuscitated her. resuscitation: noun 1 when someone or something is brought back to life or consciousness: The patient suffered a cardiac arrest and died, despite an attempt at resuscitation. Such a fanatical insistence in (wrongly) trying to prove a point over use of language serves only to; 1) Devalue linzkgs personal experience and the advice she is trying to give heidi. 2) Render wasted the time and effort, made by molly, to concisely and correctly explain the situation. 3) Unnecessarily worry heidi at an obviously already stressful time. While more magnanimous forumites may urge you not to storm away in a huff from the forum, I am however happy to say... Giddy-Up Horsey!
  12. ooo, designer knickers in a twist, how fantastic...miss a morning on the forum and come back to personal insults...classy! Perhaps from such a high horse it was difficult to read the pc screen properly as the WHO exert clearly demonstrates that in some situations stillborn babies are bought back to life, indeed that is the whole point of resucitation; http://dictionary.cambridge.org/define.asp?key=67462&dict=CALD resuscitate: verb [T] to bring someone or something back to life or consciousness: Her heart had stopped, but the doctors successfully resuscitated her. resuscitation: noun 1 when someone or something is brought back to life or consciousness: The patient suffered a cardiac arrest and died, despite an attempt at resuscitation. While it may not have been the intention, a fanatical need to (wrongly) define the term of stillborn, where nothing less than a funeral would seem to appease the commentator, merely serves to; 1)devalue linzkgs experience and the advice she was sharing with heidi, 2)trivialise mollys comments on the subject 3)unnecessarily worry heidi As for storming off the forum in a huff, all I can say is....Giddy Up Horsey!
  13. its seems heidis thread has been hijacked for the sake of your own pedantry, prada-nic. Perhaps you would like to read this, Basic Newborn Resuscitation: A Practical Guide - Revision (WHO; 1999; 33 pages) If after delivery the fetus does not breathe and shows no other evidence of life (such as beating of the heart, pulsation of the umbilical cord, definite movement of voluntary muscles) or shows signs of maceration, it is considered stillborn. However, in a fresh stillborn newborn it is difficult to determine how long before birth the death occurred unless the fetal heartbeat has been checked frequently during the second phase of birth. The policy on when to initiate resuscitation will depend on the practice of monitoring fetal well-being. If the fetal heartbeat was heard shortly before birth, resuscitation should begin. Back on topic...all the best heidi xx
