  1. there is a fabric shop off rye lane, they have never been rude to me! Try there instead x edited to say...thanks candj for linking those other threads, v v funny x
  2. apparently in picture postcard villages in the midlands as well... getting a bit sick of comments trivialising this matter really, I wonder if the cafe owner thinks its trivial, or the lady who was targeted by fireworks or the residents who live in these flats or,even, the person who cut themselves leaving blood and dna evidence everywhere when they tried to torch the cafe? Just because something doesn't effect YOU, doesn't mean its trivial. Edited to say...how come you removed your post huncamunca? Just beacause I didn't find your thoughtless off the cuff remarks amusing it doesn't mean that others wouldn't have enjoyed them?
  3. it wasn't me who stated this as fact, you'd better ask monniemae, and while shes at it she will need to factor into her statistical analysis the different types of bins there are, as already described in my last post.
  4. yes, its been on the news, shes going to be prosecuted for it apparently
  5. if you ever forget to pack a snack the cosy toes stash can come in handy, (biscuits, raisins and croissant in ours)
  6. I keep checking this thread to see if localgirlwithdreads is going to share the details of her book with us....
  7. yes, bowling green hut, tree and part of the forrested area all been torched in the past. And the bin in question was not a house wheely bin, but, rather a massive container storing rubbish from thirty flats stored in a grimy bin chute caked in half a century worth of grease, dust and debris. monniemae...do you work in statistical analysis? Bin fires rarely cause catostrophic house fires??
  8. awww millsa, that sounds so sweet, I can just imagine it! We have something similar at the safety gate over kitchen door which bubs furiously rattles screeching at top of voice, if the dog comes in the kitchen with me as well then he gets really cross, sooo funny x
  9. no, just can't do the soft play there, the entire time my mind is screaming...GERMS!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. jeez M...when I saw you had posted on this thread I thought you were expecting again!! Whats happened to our tuesday meet up? K&AJ xx
  11. hmm, thebestnameshavegone...I don't think its speculation that fire kills...if the fire had been three feet from your kitchen maybe you would feel differently, thanks for the support...not. If I told you that these youths have, in seperate incidents, been witnessed by me, throwing fireworks at each other, onto balconies, at cars and arrested for throwing fireworks at passers by you maybe a little more convinced that there is a wannabe 'fire starter' in their midst. Anyway, not having to live here I doubt very much if you give a damn.
  12. please please please can we have a secret handshake???
  13. I live on the rye, probably about as close as it is possible to live to the cafe and on the night in question saw, 'youths in hoods' trying to set each other on fire for 'a laugh', in the carpark outside my house, shortly after the rubbish bin directly next to my flat mysteriously caught fire, then later the cafe...I am quite happy to make the not too massive assumption that it was the same youths. Yes of course I told the police. This type of behaviour is not a 'youthful prank' but deadly, who knows what would have happened to me and baby if the bin fire had not been spotted?
  14. I think edanna might be right and its not that unusual, my bubs is 10 months and I've never had more than 3 hrs sleep in one go, most of the time I literally don't know what day it is. I have slowly managed to improve situation by refusing to feed him when he wakes up in the earlier stages of the night and just holding him really tight while he cries it out. Most nights now he will sleep from 9pm until 2am, which isn't that helpful to my sleeping as evening is when I get to do the housework. When I get a bit more energy together I will stop giving him milk at the later wakenings and clamp him to my body while he has a cry. Its not a fast fix but there is no way I could just leave him hysterical to do the controlled crying. Anyway...you are NOT alone xxx
  15. I had a similar situation, my upstairs neighbours would mercilessly bully their son in, 'the name of the lord' eg: screaming...'why did the lord give me a devil child like you' etc etc, I couldn't tell if he was being hit but could hear clearly that in the very least he would be scrambling around his home trying to get away from his mother during these episodes. This was before I was a mum myself but even so it turned me into a nervous wreck, worrying if he was ok. I eventually called childrens services and was very glad I did as shortly after he was in such a panic during one bullying session he jumped out of the first floor window to get away. Perhaps you should think to yourselves, which would make you feel worse, strained realtions with a neighbour, or seeing an ambulance arrive to treat a kid who has been injured through neglect?? Please call somebody xx
  16. oh, no thats awful, glad the kings experience minimised the stress though x
  17. ouch, how ghastly. On the subject of pushchairs did anyone see the woman on a train platform in australia whose three wheeler rolled off the platform into the path of a train (few weeks back now)? How the baby was not killed is a miracle!
  18. thank you for clarifying my point molly, couldn't have put it better myself xx is it just me or does the 12th dec seem like reeeaaaalllly far away?
  19. oh dear, just read the 'naughty mummies' thread, thats some pretty aggressive marketing tactics...I wonder if the ladies posting know that we can see the only times they have ever posted comments are to push that event? hmmmm? Anyway, 5th not good for me, hoping to be in wales, 12th is better x
  20. oh gosh, yes please, w/ends best for me too. x
  21. oh gosh, yes please, w/ends best for me too. x
  22. hi all xx its night time party central at my house, I think my baby is trying to kill me. I'm not up for letting him cry, any suggestions as to how I stop my nearly ten month old from waking up and eating four time a night would be greatfully recieved!
  23. on thurs eve, somewhere in peckham rye park, I managed to loose a blanket. Its one of a kind and very special to us, navy blue patchwork with dark pink fleece lining and quite large. How I managed to loose it I'm not quite sure, damn those early evenings!!
  24. perhaps there could be an area of the park sectioned off for exercising harris girls, anywhere else and the school is fined:)):))
  25. the snoring is a side effect of being pregnant, the hormone relaxin in the body means that nasal passages are floppier, vibrate more and cause snoring, I used to wake myself up it was so bad...poor poor ladies who had to share a ward with me...def go with the ear plug suggestion !!
