Potential sighting of a trapped fox at Goodrich School.
joom replied to Angusvanfrehley's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I've just been to the garden mentioned, absolutely no cages or foxes... Fertile imaginations?! -
It's Gristwood and Toms, I believe. They felled a tree in my neighbours property which is council owned. He worked on Barry Road and said a lot of those trees are diseased. Not sure if I believe that, though, judging by the wholesale carnage of that beautiful avenue of trees.

The same problem with p13 quite often, obviously ahead of schedule and driving irritatingly slowly!

Very Old Pic (Apparently it's an East Dulwich house)
joom replied to jimbo1964's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
This is interesting, I've always wondered about these half houses. By the looks of the photo it still looks like two houses to me - the windowsills are different, as are the curtains. To me it looks like it is two houses. -

I'm just about to take my poor cat to get injected. I've been combing him to get them off him but he goes back out into the garden and they just re-colonise him. I've had trouble with fleas in the garden because of the foxes... Every morning I go out and spy one on my foot!. Good to hear for better sprays for the house!

Spate of burglaries in East Dulwich
joom replied to EastDulwichRose's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
In regards to our particular burglary, witnessed by our daughter and leading to no prosecution: I have just been speaking to the lawyer at the CPS in charge of this case and basically, it's all down to being unable to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he did actually take our property - the balance of probability is just not a concrete enough factor when the principles of british law are to ensure that the innocent are not imprisoned - "We would rather that two guilty men go free than an innocent man go to jail..." This man will certainly continue to burgle and I can only hope that he slips up enough on one of these occasions to finally put him away. -

The letter I received cited three burglaries that he was involved in. I don't know any more details regarding what was taken. -

I've lived here for 7 years and have been burgled twice! ianr: my phone was returned, not the money, police don't give back money. I don't know about the other property or whether it was returned. I suppose it's a genuine problem when there are no fingerprints to prove he had taken them, but then any self-respecting burglar probably wears gloves, right? Either he or his accomplice was on bail for previous burglaries and even that seems not enough to get him off the streets. In all, it's an utter waste of time, money and effort. I can't imagine how disheartening police work must be at times. -

The person who burgled our house and frightened my daughter also carried out another two burglaries on the same night. I've just received a letter from the CJS to inform me that no action is being taken. So, if you happen to be a burglar, hiding under a car at 3am with several items of stolen property and a few hundred pounds in your pocket - don't worry! What a joke and what do I tell my daughter when she eventually asks me what's happened to him? -
Anyone else without water on Overhill Road??
joom replied to IrishDancer's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip

I think a tattoo shop would be better around Bellenden Road, it's rather trendy round those parts and has an arty vibe... just my penneth's worth :)
