  1. On Saturday night, smokers could blend their favourite activities: going to the pub, conversing with friends and smoking. On Sunday, they could do exactly the same things, but not necessarily in the same manner as they have become accustomed. citizen
  2. Brendan, dearest - just for clarification, guv, could you please sign a sworn, written statement, in triplicate, that i did not make the statement that you quote me as saying in your last post. I was quoting someone else for everyone's amusement. A certain case of misrepresentation. cheers, citizen. Are you a jouralist BTW?
  3. *is that the smoking police?* *quick, Keef, to the virtual smoking area*
  4. And the new Pub Sign is a real gem... citizen
  5. Christopher, If you have a cursory scan around the forum you should find several threads that discuss the such issues as the boundaries of East Dulwich, what is considered the heart of East Dulwich etc and your observations are partially true regarding LL being a bit of a preoccupation - But, you will also see that places such as Dulwich Park, the Gowlett and The Rye Hotel which are not in SE22 are much discussed and loved. And, the next Forum drinks happens to be at Hoopers Bar which is SE5. citizen. welcome to the forum BTW
  6. Nice one Tillie - l looked at that line, ruminated a little, then left it to a better wordsmith... Next: They started to spy on our bins...
  7. *Loved that cigar DM, thank James for me* *graduates onto a pipe* *graduates onto chewing tobacco* *texts NHS direct for advice...*
  8. -- moved topic --
  9. Dear all - Sean mocked those smokers who will say "But if they stop smoking in pubs, drink will be next!!!" In the Guardian, they quoted a woman who said ..they have stopped us smoking in pubs - what's going to be next, sex? Takes a while to sink in... citizen
  10. when Louisa chips in, she doth growl. When Goose Green suffered from flooding...
  11. *glancing over shoulder, hands DM a packet of high tar Lucky Strikes* *they have healing properties don't you know, this bloke once told me* *settles back down, and starts chain smoking with a vengence* *when ban comes in, i'm heading straight outside to virtual smoking area* *don't fancy being nicked by the cyber-police*
  12. Asset, if you think it odd that SED (Sainsbury's East Dulwich) is selling tents. In the Sydenham branch they are selling wet-suits and surf boards. Bit random. citizen ps discombobulated has to be the best word ever used in this place
  13. PP, there was some guy on radio the other day suggesting that the smoking ban was another attack on the working classes and that he could see people getting ill because they would have to keep nipping outdoors for a fag. When the interviewer suggested that not smoking might have a positive affect on health, the guy doubted that smoking was really bad for you... classic. citizen
  14. *coughs and splutters through the fug* *this smoking lark is quite a laugh really* *save for the blistered throat, the weeping eyes, reeking clothes, the, etc, etc* *wonders, does ban operate in a virtual room?*

  16. Smoking ban starts this weekend. In about four weeks time people will be heard to say "can you believe it, people used to be able to smoke in pubs..." citizen
  17. We used to play "Rollerball" which, inspired by the film, was a violent version of tag. Ah, happy days...! Tillie, knuckles was fun...er, not. citizen
  18. all the puffers will require coaching
  19. FJG, the park is the continuation of the same land as the football fields you refer to, just further up. There's a path that cuts accross from Peckham Rye (the road) to the other side, there is a car park and a children's play area. Beyond that, fenced off is the park. Was done up recently and is now really lovely. Take a look. citizen
  20. Keef, "Patball" is alive and kickin in schools today. In our school, Bulldog was for boys, Red Rover, mainly for girls. I loved both! citizen
  21. *saunters in, carrying several carrier bags full of ciggies* *elegantly climbs up onto bars stool and blisters a packet open* *lights up* *christ, gotta get through this lot by saturday night* *...and i don't even smoke!*

Dearest Asset, when you venture south to Le Moulin, dodging Hells Grannies, take note that said establishment is located next door to a Funeral Parlour... citizen
