former East Dulwich councillor - how can I help?
citizenED replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hi James - what is happening with the Early Years Centre site opposite Bessemer Grange School. No doubt when the EYFS abandoned that building to take up residence on the main Bessemer site, they left it in a usable state: now it has been vandalised and it seems such a pity that the school are not using the site. -
I'm up for the Ireland game. Castle?

Hi Intothegroove, I bought "Becoming Nancy" during the Easter hols when I'd forgotten to pack a book on a trip up town. Got off the 176, headed to that brilliant Waterstone's on Picadilly, waltzed in and found it under R in the Fiction section. Read it over April and May: Loved all the ED references and the 70s/80s nostalgia. I know a girl called Frances who is loud and proud which made a nice resonance for me. Good luck with it - Citizen

Also, there was "The Drum" on North Cross Road. Another alternative to the ponced up gastros that meade ED such a good place to be. The Plough was pretty interesting when it was the horrendous dive called the "Goose and Granite" -
Hi right-clicking, thanks for the advice: I'm interested in "Or swap-out your existing hard drive with a bigger one?" Is this easily done?

I need to upgrade my laptop: my current one is full and I've had to take stuff off it just to keep it going. I use it for the internet, I store and edit photos (so need further storage), store music (and need further storage)and use Microsoft Office and Photoshop. I don't need it for games or TV. Got about ?500 budget.

Great mind-games from Fergie, cunningly losing 1-0 to Citeh knowing that Utd will stuff Swansea 12-0 on Sunday.

Sat or Sunday. does anyone have any experience of Athenlay, Dulwich Magic or Peckham Town re where and when they train? Or any other local clubs?

I have a vision, these huge buses, single deck, with three accessible points of entry, perhaps flexible in the middle....

Searchlight-spotlight in the sky tonight...
citizenED replied to The Nappy Lady's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Happened last night too, on the re-tune day, and looked particularly striking in the cloudy/misty sky. -
Great news for Goodrich
citizenED replied to Friends of Goodrich's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
No Silverfox, it wasn't substandard before, it was, according to Ofsted, "Satisfactory". Now it is "Good". That's one step up on a four point scale. -

Yep, really encouraging news. Feeling really glad for the teachers and other staff. -
Or you could just put on something by Yes - most their tracks are about 12 hours long..

I'm reading Orwell's "Down and Out in Paris and London". Bit of a nostalgia kick as I felt great empathy for "Coming up for Air" when I read it ages ago.

Went to the Hockney last Thursday. Very impressive. Too much work to be honest; it could have done with a serious edit. However, amid all that vibrant colour, expressive handling and luxurious paint, the best things were the smaller charcoal drawings. Wow, the man can draw.
