  1. More fool your beau, Izodia for missing out on the treat that is Pan's L. Agree with you Keef regarding ths Civil War story being strong enough to stand on its own. However it is satisfying to see a filmaker taking such an interesting appraoch to storytelling. Much as I enjoyed it, though, it would not be a top ten one for me. To be picky, I thought the ending was a bit fluffed because the fantasy world did not impact enough on the real world. The girl died a lonely death.
  2. Happy returns Steph, luv. Have a nice one with your 'lil boy
  3. And when Ford bought Jaguar Cars how I winced, then chuckled, when the yank executive pronounce Jag-gwuar. Bill Bryson's book "Mother Tongue" all about the English Language, has a brilliant section about the difference between English and US pronunciation. Question. How does Menzies = Ming and St. John = sin-jun
  4. Agree with Pierre - the trick about cycling is to be assertive - a CWA; Cyclist With Attitude. There were some experiments with Motorcylists using bus lanes recently but not heard how the went.
  5. Spent the whole of last summer designing a website using Comic Sans................oh, well, back to the drawing board.
  6. "Soon come!" always makes me smile Jamaicans would get one meaning - smutty minded Forumites another.
  7. I caught the Spanish fantasy film Pan's Labyrinth last week. Love it when a film creates a belivable world of make-believe. A strangely charming tale with some frightfully nightmarish images and the most amazing make-up. Brilliant portrayal of the mind being used to block out the horrors of life in a war situation.
  8. we have had a number of posts regarding cycling in London - and many come with observations about how agressive drivers can be. Well I cycle and I drive, and just wanted to say how much I love driving in London. I love driving up through the West End or down to work (in Bromley). I feel dead awkward when I get into one of those conversations where someone bemoans how all the drivers on the road are rude and aggressive. To my mind most drivers stick to the basic rules and whilst there are a few jerkoff ones there are many more courteous drivers.
  9. Agree that there are some places still to visit - but look forward to the Magdala on the 9th
  10. Still licking my wounds too, but was a terrific game and at least we can hold our heads up after the way we played. Taking the game to Liverpool at Anfield and getting the lead - and then fighting back with that brilliant second. Shame we lost it as we did. But on balance cannot complain. Agree with Keef re Wenger moaning instead of giving credit where it is due. He should save his anger for his defenders - particularly Toure:'( Good luck to Keef and Annasfield - hope Liverpool go on to win now.
  11. I like the daily mash - particularly with bangers.
  12. Mrs Citizen missed the last one and would love to go this month - but is unavailable on Tues 22nd. Since Georgia and Hibbs could make the following week could it be penciled in for the 29th?
  13. that, like Moos, her feet ponged like hell. when the Drum and Inside get closed down...
  14. 1-0 Liverpool. Arsenal just haven't got the resolve at the business end of the season. The fact Utd did not win on Sunday goes against them. In the back of Wenger's mind is the fact that the Prmiership is still an outside chance. Hope I'm wrong.
  15. Elsewise she was gr8
  16. Can I put in a shout for the 9th. As for a venue - how about the Herne. Just missed out last time.

  21. great. Should get to the Castle for 8............... O'clock that is, not pints!
  22. The police probably made her fill out a Risk Assessment assessmest form. Risk: crossing the road. Action: look both ways consequence: not being run over Risk: fashion faux pas Action: consult Trinny and Suzannah Consequence: avoiding mockery in press Risk: assault. Action: wear a stab vest Consequence: appease poloiceman but get lambasted in the press
  23. My wall mounted 48" Plasma screen is B/W. It confuses the style police.
