  1. On Sunday some people felt SNUBBED
  2. Oh, and Daniel Bedingfield was in there too.
  3. Peckhamgatecrasher Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Johnny - you're not married to Fanny are you? > Sounds yummy. He could be married to Jimmy;-) I went to GBK on Saturday night. six of us plus three young kids. Good time had by all. Perhaps a little bright and brash (the restaurant that is, not us) but c'mon, it's a glorified Maccy D's yet soooo much better. When I get to a foodie thread I sometimes I feel I've stumbled into the pages of the Egon Ronay Aficionados forum! Jeez you guys, you need to stay in more.
  4. No Angels is on Trouble at 10pm every weekday night (I think)
  5. Well it certainly influences my work pattern - er, my lack of work pattern, that is. But on the bright side, when I'm on the dole I'll have more time to post! Always loved walking down LL on a Saturday - now I love it even more as I invariably bump into someone I know from the forum. Agree with the "sense of community" comments.Met some lovely people and can imagine developing further friendships in the coming year. And, the Forum makes you think - level of debate is pretty good on some of the more serious threads ie, recently, "Booooring" and "Demographic Changes". Oh and I have pretty much ceased reading books since the Forum. Much as I'd love to join people at the Canning for the book swap, just don't get to read any more.
  6. Dear LizzygotDizzy - welcome to the forum. Dont worry about flak on the forum; if this; "Am really sad, but mine went up today, well I have kids and they love it so just trying to prolong their joy!" is as controversial as you get, you'll be fine. Keef, which bridge do you get your Christmas tree from?
  7. Our tree is still up from last year - just give if a quick spruce over and replace a few baubles (to this year's colours! natch) and it'll look as good as new.
  8. went to Gourmet Burger Kitchen yesterday early evening. Daniel Bedingfield was there too. Bit embarrassing really. I finally get to go for a meal on LL and can only manage GBK!
  9. Who is watching repeats of "No Angels" on Trouble. Funny and sad I think it is brilliant british comedy drama. As some will know I'm very parochial regarding TV. Got to be British. got to be relevant to me and my life. Caught a little of The Street last night. Is that harrowing or what. Is it any good?
  10. Could be worse, could be an S & M Art Shop! ;-)
  11. *Enters holding TFIF handercheif to brow* *what a week!* *kicks off shoes, loosens tie and re-adjusts trousers* *likes the ambience in here today* *takes a glass of Makers Mark - now that really is the right kind of b*o*r*i*n*g *
  12. I think some of people need to hold fire a little here. I've just read this thread and it seems that Maximay is getting short shrift for what was an honest (and not particularly exceptional) opinion. Shouldn't forget that as much as some of us know CWALD, we didn't until a few months back and even if we've shared a few beers and laughs we don't really know her. We are affording her a great deal of leeway. From what I can tell very few poeple on here know Maximay, so it does come over rather like "we" are rushing to defend "our" chum. Doesn't sit well for a public forum.

Alan said about camping in the UK "Sounds good. Can I bring the Dales?" You want to take the Yorkshire Dales camping.?
  14. Well, since footba is a game of two halves, it's best you do it the Spurs way round. The other way, hell lies.
  15. You're seeing Beck at Ronnie Scott's. Cool Loser
  16. I do not mind Chains on the Lane either. There were many of them there already before most of us arrived in East Dulwich: Budgens, Somerfield and Iceland and many of the Estate Agents and Banks and I must admit I would like a Smiths or other quality newsagent/stationers. I think the fear is of having an identikit High Street that would be soulless and look like plenty of other high streets. Most who complain probably have a "thin end of the wedge" attitude to life. They worry that the opening of one store means that others will also come in. It's not happened with Caffe Nero yet. How long has that been on the Lane? In fact, since it opened the only other cafe to open on the Lane is the independent Chandelier. Having said that, one reason ED is soooo great is the mix of stores on the Lane. At the moment it is just about right for me.
  17. Not exactly a euphemism, but what about this - the sign on skips that reads "level loads only". Has anyone ever, in this life or any other seen a skip that wasn't piled high?
  18. "non-drop" Christams Trees. Doh!
  19. "My murky past is about to rise up and bite me in public." I've got it, CWALD, you listen to Radio 4!
  20. Well done for getting involved, Louisa. You did the right thing. I hope you, or someone like you, is around if I were to get into a spot of dog trouble on Goose Green. Don't worry about the sniping over your original post; quite tricky to get the facts of any incident right, especially if you are posting so soon after it.
  21. In Australia there is the National Public Toilet Map
  22. I'll get rhe whipped cream
  23. Jeez, you guys. I only wanted to know the names of your Teddy Bears.
  24. Our bird will get stuffed
  25. Mine's called Jesus Jones. I'm watching my back.
