  1. Probably like everyone else who ever gets on a bus up that way I too have been wondering about that development - conclusion: Alan Dale is building a watchtower to keep EDers out of Camberwell
  2. Sorry to buck the trend a bit, and I love Granddaddy, Jamie T, Preston School of Industry and Sparklehorse as much as the next man, but watching Leona sing Bridge over troubled Water on the X-factor last year brought a tear to my eye - she was ace.
  3. Popped into the Bishop this afternoon - hmmmmm... what is all the fuss about? worn out seating, grubby and tatty decor, artwork that looked like it was from East Street market, that odd arangement of mirrors and the ugly looking East Germanic air con unit hoiked to the ceiling. And, the conversation between punters and girl behind bar was basically not-very-nice sexual banter. Place seemed pretty seedy for a Wednesday afternoon. Reminded me of, now what was that other place called..... The Forresters!
  4. *DM looking radient* *with all this opulence and elegance the Quiet Room looks like a M & S advert*
  5. Plough End of LL is surely Southsides ED. There's even a shop called Southside Lighting
  6. Congrats Azul, when you get round to buying pressies may I suggest a book of cryptic verse...
  7. the place was called SE22 for a while. Like Keef and Frisco I don't like that "waiting for a meal" kind of feeling you get when you drink there.
  8. Just up the hill towards Forest Hill, the Horniman Museum do weddings in their conservatory. They have great gardens Horniman Museum
  9. Camelot are obviously the dumbest. Negative numbers are not a run of the mill, everyday c.oncept. Counting numbers are what are commonly used. They should not underestimate the understandable misapprehension of some punters
  10. *saunters in with gorgeously wrapped BBP for DM* *notices crates of Bolly stacked behind bar* *tempted............* *no damn resolve; cracks open a bottle* BBP = Big Birthday Present
  11. Amazing result for the pool guys. Hope you get the twoe victories you need.
  12. Just warmed up some of last night's vegetable stew. I'm WFH today - actually I'm on paternity leave - but I've always wanted to use that TLA. citizen
  13. I will be there - and am looking forward to it. I'll bring a book to swap, or a CD
  14. Your Name: citizen Famous Artist/Band/Musician: cure 4 letter word: cu next tuesday Vehicle: KITT cooper (mini) TV SHOW: celebrity death match City/Town: coventry Boy Name: cuthbert Girl Name: celine Occupation: courier Something you wear: collar and cuffs Celebrity: Cameron (Diaz not David;-)) Food: CAKES Something found in a kitchen: custard Reason for Being Late: cure for hangover not where it should have been.
  15. I have been following this for some time but not had the time to collect my thoughts . It's a debate that I always thought I was very clear on. Choice for women was paramount. That's probably because I was at college with plenty of aspiring, intelligent women who articulated the pro-choice arguments. Now though, I have my own kids and have plenty of friends with youngsters too and it does kind of move the goalposts a little. I keep returning to the idea that "two wrongs do not a right make". If you conceive by mistake - you cannot rectify it by aborting the fetus.
  16. Gallas plus money in exchange for Cole. Wenger is certainly no mug.
  17. Anyone liking the new Babyshambles, Shotter's Nation. Doherty the new Jarvis? Delivery
  18. Can't wait - another nice little spot in the ED landscape.
  19. If voting is open until midnight on the twelth perhaps the Forum drinks on the ninth could switch venues so we had it half in the Bishop before moving to the CPT. Then we can make our minds up;-)
  20. Does it suit your RB brand of 5 o'clock shadow?
  21. In the late eighties Coventry City Centre became a zero tolerence zone too. It didn't stop the fights either. Pissed up meatheads out for a scrap still got totally mullered and went on the rampage on Fri and Sat. I actually feel sorry for the real bums who simply had to find a new location to doss around with their cans of Special Brew.
  22. The guy should be castigated for terrible taste in clothes
  23. Heather who?
  24. Er, yes - he should have as soon as it was clear he had lost control of that control room. One of his officers was trying to save de Menezes by laying on top of him and restraining him and Blairs goons still killed him. If that is the case then any one of us could be killed by an armed policeman when the control room gets he jitters. Of course it would not be any one of us. It would not be my 78-year old mum. It would not be me. It might be any darker skinned bloke. That is the issue. A suicide bomber, intent on indiscriminant killing could get any of us. That is a risk we all live with. The police cannot run a shoot to kill policy. I am noy happy to live in a state that sanctions the murder of in innocent man.
  25. We had some of the cuties accompanied by adults - seemed like fun for them. We live up by the Plough
