  1. If you look over here you will see that this same topic is being simultaneously discussed. Looks like the groundswell is for Nov 9th at the Forst Hill Tavern.

Where did mockney do it? was it hear or was it their? Stocks or tarring and feathering?
  16. Thanks for that insight BARA. I still think that the whole notion of Gentrification is rather "Headline" led. ie we see some nicer cars on the streets and some trendy mums at the weekends with their Phil and Teds, and some huge price tags on houses in certain streets - but from what you can witness, ED is still a largely "working class" area with a good mix of folk. ED does not simply consist of The Strip and the surrounding streets down in East Dulwich Village. Most of ED is residential and includes such things as the Lordship Lane Estate. Next time you walk around, have a look at the cars parked on the streets (exactly how many 4x4's, Mercs and Jags) and look at the older folk you see. citizen
  17. Just to add my concerns regarding this, esp in light of the two other recent threads regarding street violence in the area. Glad you are being so rational/reasonable about it Blue10 and trust you are recovering from bri=uises and bruised pride. As the Police have said, such an occurance is rare in ED. Glad that the Forum is giving an opportunity for us to air concerns and share experiences. If it helps to engender that elusive community spirit.
  18. Was going to say, Rob, it's there already there - not quite opposite the Plough but opposite "Amazing Grace".
  19. And 'is posting name is also his prediction of what England will do on Saturday...
  20. At both ends of the spectrum...working class gurls having more than they want due to their circumstances AND middle class women having none or one due to their circumstances.
  21. JD5 On the Forum you get complaints about general increased ponciness (daytime, tea shops, gift shops, snazzy new Estate agents etc) and complaints about increased yobbish behaviour on Fri and Sat nights down the Strip. Would be good to have someone actually do a "study" rather than purely rely on anecdotal evidence.
  22. But, Arsenal 15 - 0 Bolton might just be possible.
  23. No, Sean they are not the kick-off times, They are Annasfield's predictions of the scores...
  24. 13 year-olds can't come to the Forum drinks anyhow. Now, if we were based in Torquay...
  25. "I grew up in Stevenage so everyday I wake up happy that I'm not there." Ditto ap. I went out in Stevenage about 18 months ago, I have a brother there and he was babysitting our little one so that we could have a night out. We went to the new "entertainments" park full of Cinemas, Nandos type eateries, chain-link pubs and a couple of cheesy looking nightclubs. It's a royal hell-hole. They have a cop van parked on-site. Say no more. You could applaud the town's council for setting up such a place, away from the town centre and easy to police...or you could decry the fact they felt they needed to make a pisshead's enclave.
