  6. Don't know how jerk rock got a recommendation in Time Out - it was a rather odd set-up - just never felt welcoming. Would have been so good if they'd got their front of house sorted. Shame as ED could do with a decent west indian outlet. A missed opportunity. Citizen
  7. Draught San Miguel - Say no more. Smashing venue and great company. Lovely to see so many faces, old and new. citizen

  12. Glad to hear that some people on here don't like the cafe - i hope it means they will stop going to the place, I mean, it's busy enough as it is we don't want it clogged up by people who aren'r appreciative. AllforNun, do you know of any cafe in a park that's worth a visit for it's food? citizen
  13. If Fabregas drew, he would draw like Michaelangelo Undoubtely 3-1 to the Gooners
  14. (tu) Oh, those workmen they dug up the road...
  15. To be pedantic - the signs said the works were due to start on 3/9/07 - perhaps the work did start then, you know a bit of a survey first before they actually dug up the road and put the traffic control in. citizen
  16. I know someone who has been drawn into Foxton's special 0% offer - they are selling a place in Forest Hill (no doubt, referred to as Greater East Dulwich on the Website) offer is only to the first 200 clients who instruct so that limit has probably been reached already. There is a time limit on completion - if it is not done by a certain time - sorry, not sure how long ) then the fee goes up to 2.5% citizen
  17. England v Russia 2-0 Scotland v France 0-2 Iceland v Northern Ireland 0-1 Slovakia v Wales 1-0 Czech Republic v Rep of Ireland 2-1
  18. Actually Sean it's only a polish they need - there's plenty of spit already ;-) citizen
  19. If you don't pose you will be the loser [extending artistic licence - same last four letters] The dog poo was rather unsightly...
  20. Have to say that the Pavilion Cafe is one of my many local haunts - and I love the place. It's a beautiful building, they have Art on the walls and a place for kids to play, the tables and chairs are solid and comfortable and a decent size - they have two large toilets (and there is the park toilet block just few steps away if you are desperate) and they even have a child-free zone (lovely since I admit it can be a little like eating in a Kindergarten at times) and as DG says you can eat healthy there if you want. Who can complain about the quality of food in such a place? Does anyone know of a cafe in a park that is any better - last time I went to the one in Brockwell Park it made me realise how good the Dulwich Park one is. citizen

    Dog Crap

I saw a dog-poo hoover machine in operation over at Belair park during the summer. It wasn't falsh and new like the Paris model - rather like a golf-buggy with a giant vacuum attached. The guy was trolling around driving up to every bit of dog-do he could find and phhlupping up the offending morsels. citizen.
  22. H 6.15 was rather earlier than I got there. I toodled in more like 8.00. How long did you stay? citizen
  23. Agree that the Harvester certainly has it's place. I've been there for large family gatherings with lots of kids and can't imagine any other local place catering so well for that (not even the Herne) Whilst accepting the misgivings of some on the forum who knew the place as a proper pub before it became a Harvester, I think much of that is due to it's location - ie the last pub on the Lane before the long trawl to Forest Hill or West Dulwich. This meant that people up this end (Upper East Side? or Southsides of ED) were rather badly off for pubs until we had the (new)Plough. Still, looking at how popular it is, the Grove Tavern certainly serves a purpose. citizen
  24. to run a co-operative here. When Keef was away on his beano...

Lets just say I enjoyed the beer and watching Pumas beat le Bleu. citizen Brendan shame you never made it - enjoying your posts and wanted to put face to name. wanted to see you sinking those halves then fagging it up to Castle and back. citizen
