  1. I think the Great Big Flappy Thing is out for the weekend - injured one of his flippers in the England game
  2. Does anyone know of a place locally I can dump a box load tatty old paperbacks - they are too rough to give to a charity shop, too knackered to sell on e-bay and I want to shift them sharpish as they've been hanging around for far too long. Then on to the rest of my life! citizen
  3. Glad I didn't watch. These days i ration my feelings of utter dejection and total misery by only watching competitive games - not the friendlies.
  4. To her Aussie she wrote
  5. This Forum doesn't need to be promoted. It's got to where it is without any real promotion. I love the place it is in. Good debate, great information, humour, news etc. It's local and 'democratic' and non-commercial. What benefit would it be to be bigger or more commercial? If it grows naturally, by word of mouth, as it has done so far, then so be it. I would tend to say small is beautiful. citizen
  6. Nice. Sean will be pleased. If you return to his thread on this issue from a while back you'll find a load more places to mark on there. citizen
  7. Not seen it, Sean. Like Jah, don't get to watch much TV but am always looking for some worthy drama as a digression. Last one that hooked me was "Bodies" (first series.) I am getting the strong impression, with the Baltimore comments, that this is another American show. That causes me a problem. Need serious persuasion - or let me know when it is on and I'll give it a go. citizen
  8. Shame for Jol - undoubtedly done a great job for Spurs - odd how Sir Alex has had a worse start and there are no rumblings about him getting the boot.
  9. Wow, did you draw that yourself?
  10. A mini Borders...
  11. When Giddy came back from her trip...

  15. Sorry to hear about your personal circumstances vic - a similar thing happened to us with another publication a few years back. But sad to see the demise of Dulwich Life.
  16. *Slithers in to witness the melodic chaos* *dons air guitar* *winds up, Townsend stylee* *this could be just what i need* *Twannggggg...!*
  17. I dont think it is - perhaps I misread the letter, and can't find it now, but I think its further south, from Friern Road up to the Grove Tavern
  18. Been looking forward to this one opening. It's on my route as I walk down to the heart of The Strip. Certainly pop in in the next couple of weeks.
  19. American Football Baseball Country and Western Music Conspiracy theories.... ..hmmmmm....
  20. I suppose I might have to face this one down, but as far as I can see, tax is simply my contribution to the running and wellbeing of the country in which I live. It seems wrong to see it as an evil. It has become common to hear people in the media say such things as, "everybody hates paying taxes" as though it is some sort of given. I for one do not begrudge paying taxes - in fact i am rather proud of the fact that I do. citizen
  21. A letter came to our place from Thames Water regarding the replacement of water mains pipes on Lordship Lane. The works are from where Underhill Road meets LL up towards the The Grove. citizen
  22. though some of them were la-di-da When Dawkins debunked all the myths...
  23. Glad to hear it went well Mockney - hopefully I can get sorted for next time.
  24. ...they'd play me at tiddlewinks
  25. I didn't catch last weeks episode - can anyone give a short precis?
