  2. Is the new PJ better than "Songs from the City....", Jah. Never liked her before, but that album was sh*t hot. citizen
  3. Naturally, and I would like to think that, were I in that kind of position, I would be able to forgive and forget.
  4. Wow, get us! the answer to the original question has to be neutral form me because unlike all you bosses out there I aint in the position to hire or fire anyone. citizen
  5. fair do's Mr Marshall, often both as bad as each other, journos and politicos. If it was GB's press office then it was a terrible call - they drove him into an awful cul-de-sac.
  6. We got one - no, actually we got two! Not through the letter box though. We don't get them delivered since we moved up to beyond the Plough. We got ours because we once advertised with them, and then spent an age wondering about their distribution policy because we couldn't find any of our local friends who had received a copy. And we let them know we were not happy. So, they have been a little sheepish since and this month sent round an advertising guy (with two complimentary copies..as if that would appease us! the rascals.) to discuss advertising with them again. citizen
  7. A blog I dip into from time to time is Landcroft House. It's about music and food, two of my favourite subjects. It's written in East Dulwich and would be interesting to most people in the area because local parks, places and restaurants get mentioned. Far from wanting to be famous from their writing i would suggest that the authors simply want to provide an oulet for their thoughts and musings. For this, Blogs are so much better than publishing in a tradtional sense. The fact that it is local is one of its attractions. You are not just listening to your neighbours, not just watching the local News or reading the SLP - you're getting an interesting independent opinion. Citizen
  8. The Press, the Press, the Press.... do they get me mad some times. "I know" they say, "let's be an annoying little pest and talk about an election until we are blue in the face and until the public are sick of it... and then we'll jump up and down and shout let's have an election incessantly". When there isn't an elction they'll blame the Govt. then sit back and enjoy all the squirming. Job Done. citizen
  9. Saw them yesterday - yuk! think the style police need to get up there quickly
  10. Sadly, watched Scotland vs Argentina whilst doing the ironing. It was boring. Ironing was pretty dull too. citizen
  11. I concur, the beeb has got to be one of the best things about living in Britain - no ads on TV, no ads on radio, some brilliant presenters, range of programming is awe-inspiring...etc, etc
  12. James, if you are at the next drinks, i better not stand by you, you little trend-setter. I popped into WS a few weeks ago and thought that i could easily buy quite a lot of their stuff ("debenhams circa 95" or otherwise) IF I could afford it. That'll be another trip to the Mind shop for me, then.
  13. I miss it too, - good things come and go, so enjoy whilst they last - nice to note that an independent took over from another independent and seem to be doing OK. citizen (ps, there was a thread about much missed places on LL a while back - it started with Redgewells) HERE
  14. she will spangle her way to the meets..

  16. *texts 999, asks for discreet ambulance service* *mumbles something about water, electricity and one very frazzled MP* *would give mouth-to-mouth myself, MP, but its against my religion* *not to mention that you may have deserved it* *joins DM for a white wine at bar*

  19. Sean, I'm defo coming. loving all this outreach work we do in adjoining areas!
  20. Perhaps he should have waited for the result of the scotland match today, considering he's, er, British!
  21. Coat-hangers. Love them when they are hanging coats - otherwise, despise them.
  22. Got a good feeling 'bout this lot... Villa 2 - 1 West Ham Man U 1 - 1 Wigan Arsenal 3 - 0 Sunderland Blackburn 2 - 1 Birmingham Bolton 1 - 0 Chelsea Fulham 2 - 2 Portsmouth Liverpool 2 - 1 Spurs Man City 2 - 0 Boro Newcastle 3 - 1 Everton Reading 3 - 0 Derby
  23. welcome to da Forum, Summerbreezee. Shame you got such a cool reception at Willie B's (rather than a "cool" reception) ~You win some, you lose some I guess. As you have probably deduced from the responses on here you were unlucky. That said, always amazes me that there are so many grumpy front-of-house people. You'd have thought that the first question on the application form for a receptionist would be something like "are you a happy, friendly person?" If the answer is in the negative send them to do some filing or something. citizen
