  1. isnt it really bad for you to be carrying that amount of weight?
  2. You're right I don't. I make him wear a thong - no ironing required. ;-)
  3. I can't say any postings have helped me in the quest to find 8 teaspoons- come on- I need help here- like the vegetable peeler- often found on the compost heap.
  4. They are like odd socks in my house. Where have they gone??I often find them under teenagers beds- but I've only recouped one by that method- any other top tips??
  5. >:D
  6. but those are GRoss yields -on secondary stock-net yields more like 3- 4% ( if capital values are the same)
  7. i spray some de greaser stuff on it for a while then go in with the brillos........
  8. but where else would you invest your money right now? id always be wary of service charge and management of council freehold.
  9. how much were ceramic ones? father in law has laminate floor so they might be better
  10. always wax disc first. Kirsty is new to this I've been doing it for 45 years. If you were making one jar just for yourself to eat straight away you need not bother with the wax disc.
  11. but probably not if you over plucked them when you were 13 ( the shame)
  12. i think that a lot of people are put off now by the whole wedding thing; but actually in terms of what happens when you die it is much better to be married. Several of my friends have slooped off with no fuss to have a small wedding to formalise a loving relationship. Caitin Moran covers this beautifully in her book How to be a Woman.
  13. I think you will find the B word used as a bullying tactic in the playground-just warning you. Its not nice but children are not nice sometimes.
  14. But for your children its nice if their parents are married- they are not bastards and they feel secure. The only problem is that some people insist on ridiculous expensive weddings. A small celebration wedding is lovely for everyone. But the pressure to have the perfect ?5k-?10k plus wedding puts everyone off.
  15. thanks I ordered the yak yak ones this morning.
  16. Does anyone know where to buy one of these locally?Tesco has just failed to deliver(not available)-:(
  17. of course - for my father in law! thanks.
  18. I keep seeing adverts in the papers for these- you wear them over your shoes. Has anyone bought them/ recomemnd them? Thanks
  19. It is a good way of making them practice their handwriting though.............;-)
  20. (tu)
  21. Mothers meeting- i didnot mean grooming yourself-apart form the odd haircut- but my children found nursery quite hard to get used to, and because of all the tears I jsut had to go with it. But I did do all the house things like painting/ ironing / making curtains/ filing so that when I was was working I did not have to worry about that. You are very lucky if your child will go to any one anytime- I was always called from creches at ikea/ asda after 5 mins and found the consistency of a nursery helpful, especially if I got more work I could sometimes add a few extra days which is a godsend.
  22. I don't have young children any more, but I think it important for the child that there is some consistency for them at the nursery- ie there is a routine and they seem the same people there. As a parent you just have to make the most of an occasion when they are at nursery and you are mot working - ie haircuts/ ironing/cleaning/( painting the house??) bulk cook freezer meals . Just has to be that way for your child.
  23. Woodrot You clearly did not watch the recent weekly documentary which gave a lot of information about those who had died- they were all ranks from all over Britain. It was a humbling program how much their colleagues respected them and how they often died trying to save their colleagues. Officers included.
  24. if you are the host then it is your responsability to provide food that your guests can/will eat.End of.( you can leave out the cheese from the above sauce and just put parmesan on half of the bake.
  25. i made a lovely special meal that was a pasta bake .first you roast the veg- inc butternut squash onion peppers carrots. in the meantime you make quite a runny cheese sauce - add a boursin cheese to it for a garlic flavour and a packet of spinach. cook some pasta. then mix alltogether and bake in oven with parmesan on top - the colours of the veg make it look really attractive. you can serve this byitself or with a baked salmon/ roast meat/ poultry.
