  1. 8:00am ish today
  2. It was always busy on East Dulwich Grove, but this morning traffic driving up to the Village was at a standstill and cars were belching out fumes. Walk down the road at 8:00 tomorrow to see for yourself. Maybe stand there for 30 minutes and breath in the lovely fumes. I strongly believe in people taking up cycling, walking and driving electric cars. I also support healthier streets.. but for all residents, not just the lucky gated few that now have all their traffic on my road, outside my house, polluting my family.
  3. Frustrated car drivers making dangerous turns in the road... children walking to school breathing in traffic fumes. Time to rethink road closures.
  4. School run and commuter traffic... EDGrove at a standstill. Our Healthy Streets, not for us poorer ED residents who do not live on the ?new? private roads.
  5. Would not authenticate my neighbours house. It said it did not exist. I cannot pay for a permit either.
  6. Very sad the physic garden is not going to be relocated, would have been good to be in the health centre grounds.... another cleaner greener space gone.
  7. My point was that....the now lovely quiet roads are all in wealthy areas....but we all need less pollution and less through traffic.
  8. The high density housing, with no gardens on roads with the worse traffic, families on low incomes are suffering the worse aspects of pollution. It must be lovely to be wealthy, living in a big house, with a big garden and a big income...with a lovely quiet road. I?m all for green policy, but not to the detriment of our most vulnerable residents.
  9. It?s great that those residents hit by austerity and poor transport links, working in shift patterns and mainly from the BAME community in Dulwich Village and Melbourne Grove now have less traffic and cleaner air...while us wealthy lot, living in small flats with no gardens on other streets have more traffic....hang on..... I support healthier streets, cycle lanes etc. But..
  10. East Dulwich Grove is definitely not healthy at 9:00am....standing traffic all the way up to the crossroads with the Village. Awful for cyclists, school children, pedestrians and I imagine car users. Standing traffic, fumes and pollution.
  11. Protected bike lane and parking on one side after the corner. There are lots of empty parking spaces never used at the back of the estate. The private schools make room on site for coaches....there is room. Speed cameras to stop speeding and humps removed. Could be achieved if the will is there.
  12. East Dulwich Grove needs a bike lane, it will encourage bike use on this road. It makes more sense to ?close? the other side of Melbourne Grove, a very dangerous junction and overused as a short-cut. The side that is being closed is relatively quiet, is not over-used as a short cut and is full of high priced housing. I have lived here for 30 years and walk along all these roads regularly.
  13. My neighbour has been partying every weekend .... guests and no social isolating since it turned hot and sunny. This country is top of the league for infection and death. The ?official? numbers are not accurate, as far more people died in care homes than the Government has published. The infection is still prevalent and a second wave is due. Before anyone asks... I lecture at a Medical School and I work clinically. Social isolation is only being relaxed so we stop talking about Cummings and start earning money for shareholders. This Government missed the opportunity to suppress early, with no or little care for the elderly or vulnerable. Track and trace can?t work yet as the app doesn?t work yet and testing time turnaround is too slow. We should all isolate for at least two more months, to suppress.
  14. People are pooing and peeing in bushes. Reported on r4 today. Just open the toilets so people can also wash their hands.
  15. Such a shame that all the wild flowers and grasses growing down East Dulwich Grove were cut down this week. Full of bees now just dry short grass. On a happier note lots of swifts early this morning.
  16. Bike lanes on LL and EDG and a one way car system.... it would work
  17. If Melbourne Grove becomes a ?gated community? for larger houses and higher income families, then us lot in flats on East Dulwich Grove will suffer more noise, more pollution and more traffic. I walk down Melbourne regularly and it really is not the traffic rat run the residents are making out. Put a bike lane down EDG, this will slow traffic and make less people want to use the roads connecting onto it. Encourage bike usage, but don?t create the haves and have nots.
  18. Buses, bike lanes and more pedestrianisation. The school run needs to stop, children can get to school by walking and bike. There is a child obesity issue, yet they seem unable to walk to school, my journey was a 2 hour round walk. Unfortunately too many 4 wheel drive private schools around ED. With parents bringing their precious ones by car every day. Yes.. I am feeling grumpy today. Fewer cars - cleaner air.
  19. It upsets me to kill them, but murdered a baby one yesterday. A quick death while munching on my organic, very expensive peanut butter in a trap. The cute babies grow up and have more babies.
  20. Little weed 🤣
  21. Oh ED is puff grow city...
  22. Still going... police and evidence vans..it?s like a very slow police procedural. 🤓
  23. Marijuana farm? They are traditional in East Dulwich. Usually try and bypass the electricity meter to avoid detection. Or........what else could it be? I missed the helicopter action. They are 4 vans now, a hole is being dug and the coppers look very bored. Is it wrong to be this nosey, if so I blame it on ?lockdown? 🤪
  24. Ok...what is going on in East Dulwich Grove...police...emergency power vans x 3?? I am being nosey..
