  1. Me too - have always worn underwired nursing bras (the anita ones from pretty pregnant). Really don't think I would have survived b/f for so long if not worn them - cannot BEAR non underwired!!
  2. I love the sliding scale of acceptability here - 1 baby - horrendously hard work (and it truly IS), then when have 2 just having the baby suddenly feels easy...then when you have baby 3, just having youngest 2 seems ok!! Umm - Lucas, 10.30 tomorrow?
  3. Tuesday morning good for me as just have the (not so) little'un..... Cafe and cake please
  4. My eldest is only 2 so not faced this yet, but I have a good friend whose 3.5 yr old has gradually been giving up her nap for the last year. As she has a younger child she has continued to put her daughter in her room after lunch for 'quiet time' for an hour or so - she now rarely sleeps but plays on her own and reads books on her bed. Occasionally she does have a half hour nap. Might this work? I imagine it wouldn't for my little boy (too energetic!) but maybe girls more amenable? Or just a bit of telly/sofa/reading together/chill out time after lunch until nursery starts in september. Anyway - hopefully things will improve once your little girl is better. Good luck!
  5. Yep it was open today..
  6. Andalucia? The cOsta de la luz is lovely, we went late June one year and really not that busy. Tarifa is lovely, and the costal towns like Conil are nice. We stayed in a really small village called El Palmar. Not too far from Cadiz for a city day. Lots of kite surfing!
  7. Both my children were awake at 5 again this morning. I fed the baby in the hope of a speedy resettle but he's only just gone back - excellent timing as in about 5 seconds my 2 yr old who has been chatting in his cot for an hour an a half will come bulldozing in. Baby will also have a rubbish 7am feed so be hungry on the nursery run. 2 yr old will be hysterical with tiredness when I pick him up from nursery at 1pm. And probably nap badly as so overtired! Argh! No solutions only empathy....
  8. Well it's not the most inspiring website ever but contact details here. Not the closest to you would imagine though...
  9. I think that school nurseries are only from age 3? And also a place in the nursery has no bearing on whether a child will get a place in reception? Little snowboarder has just started at Buds, a preschool that takes children from 2. It is term time only, and 9-3 with the option of half days, so quite different to a day care style nursery. Seems lovely, so far!
  10. You do not necessarily need planning permission for a side return extension (can be done under permitted development providing certain conditions met), but if your neighbours are building up to the boundary between your properties they do need to serve you with a notice under the Party Wall Act.
  11. I'm not sure, but imagine NOT having a certificate of lawfulness when you come to sell your house will not be a good thing. Loft companies it seems are aware of the current issues. I think we will go for the L shape extension and see how we go..will update if/when we have any news! I'm off to trawl through the guidance now...
  12. I rang my insurance company - they weren't bothered. Spoke to midwives - they said up to you but advise 6 weeks. I basically thought I had to get out of the house once husband had gone back to work, and it was more effort to walk and push the p&t...so I drove at just over 2 weeks. Only locally, not far. Mind you hefting toddler into car and baby in car seat was probably the worst bit...
  13. Glad you liked it - we used to go quite often but little snowboarder now at nursery on tuesdays....
  14. Thanks rob - will look them up. Did they apply for (and receive) a certificate of lawfulness for you before starting on site? Or did you do that yourselves?
  15. Flats don't benefit from pd rights generally. I need to sit down and read these regs properly I think. Hmm are the loft companies aware of the current issues I wonder? Got someone coming tomorrow so we will see....
  16. Playgroup at the Coplestone Centre is nice. 10am - 11.30 I think....
  17. Atticus - any update on this? I'm just about to launch into the world of loft conversions...
  18. Weird isn't it - my littlest is def heavier than yours Jenny and I reckon over the advised weight but size 2 fit just fine... ps Has anyone tried the ocado 'eco' nappies Attitude - they are RUBBISH!! An entire pack of size 1/2 going spare here...
  19. Ha - little snowboarder is not small, but from about 9m they don't really seem to get any fatter, just longer. It's great - reusing last years shorts currently - they are just shorter than last year but perfect round the waist!
  20. Have to say I would be surprised if she was a size 4 though - my 2 yr old still fits into size 4!! My 11 wk old is in size 2's by night and cloth by day - and has a couple of night feeds - you are welcome to have a go with one of my cloth nappies if you like? Maybe even just a wrap over a disposable could help? I suppose the nappies all work differently depending on shape/boy girl etc...
  21. As above my eldest started getting attached to a jojo's bunny comforter at about 12m. I used to feed him at night with bunny (kind of sleep training so thought a friend might help!) and then pop them in bed together. They are now totally inseparable, bunny comes everywhere, bit of a pain. Before he could talk he had his own made up special sign for bunny! We do have 3 hidden away though...so when bunny goes for a swim in the bath or explores the pavement he is miraculously dry/clean in seconds. I can't bear the thought of the wailing otherwise. Warning - I do know of a child who lost his comforter teddy....he was so upset it almost ruined his childhood..he cried for years afterwards!
  22. OOoh have you seen the icandy strawberry? Could be a compromise if it's out in time? Looks cool! (note to self not to be so excitable about prams)
  23. Nooo the donkey is awful!! It looks ridiculous! I am currently working out how I can pre order the new mountain buggy duet without my husband noticing... Hum, anyway - bee and peach are v different...I had the ICandy apple for baby 1 and it was great. But if you are having to get up stairs, or fold the pram up often then the bee is perfect. It's certainly not as smooth as the apple (and therefore imagine peach). Have you seen the limited edition peach? Looks cool!
  24. We used a gum brush to start with - came free with the JASON toothpaste. Did it in the bath - pre milk....
