Had just read what mothers do and that had an impact too...
  2. I like this - quite reassuring when I think back to poor stressed out baby 1 - and I thought I was 'doing it all wrong' too. With baby 2 - well not so much - but we have been more relaxed....so maybe that's why?

Hmm - I hoped this when I bought my first flat there in 2000. When I moved over to ED in 2005 it hadn't changed a bit - and it still hasn't!! Having said that I did not have young children at the time so was not considering larger properties/schools etc. In my last job I did a regeneration study for Lambeth which highlighted a number of initiatives and plans that would really change the area (new secondary school just completed, plans for a swimming pool, the SOuth London Theatre, the potential of the library, plans for the high street around b and q etc.). Not sure what has happened since though! The residential streets are nice - much bigger villa type houses - but many of them carved up into flats. The train service is way better than ED as you have the clapham junction/victoria option and the thameslink from tulse hill...
  4. why am I crying at seeing harry in a car????
  5. 11am. Celeb spotting atm. Happy birthday!!
  6. Cbeebies banned for this morning - wall to wall wedding coverage and children wearing red white and blue. Very odd. In general I hate the royal family..... Have told myself am watching it for the outfits!!
  7. I like Rowan for a boy or girl actually....
  8. I liked Soren for a boy. Husband wasn't having any of it. Wasn't there a Sorrel in a Noel Streatfeild childrens book? I was a big fan.... Also liked the trio of Pauline, Petrova and Posy in ballet shoes...
  9. Had similar dilemma but bigger age gap. Currently baby no 2 in bednest next to me - love it love it don't have to get out of bed all night, and little sb in his cotbed still in little room. We've shied away form any room changes too but will have to think about what to do soon. Judging by recent performances there is NO way little sb (aged just 2) would stay put in a bed. Forever may he be imprisoned in a grobag and cot.
  10. Have you looked at Buds? Not sure how compares but my little boy just started there and has been outside a fair bit. But has returned with evidence of paint too....
  11. How about tuesday morning? Am blissfully toddler free...(well...unless he freaks out at new nursery)..and good to have something to look forward to after the long weekend....
  12. ps for girls I like Anouk - quite unusual and can shorten to Ani. And Tabitha. Both vetoed by husband. I like names you can shorten but still use the long version too. My all time favourite girls name which I've always thought would be my choice for my daughters name is now sooo popular I don't know whether I would chose it. Or whether there will ever be a daughter...!! I would def after 2 babies have a few options up until baby is born. It's not so much that they come out looking like a particular name it's more that all of sudden it's very real!
  13. Ha it's all getting a bit cryptic now isn't it!
  14. I thought we had chosen a slightly unusual name for baby no. 2. Then a random stranger in a coffee shop told me she knew two children with our name already. Devastated. Ruth - I love Atticus!
  15. I love Meredith. Unfortunately we used it up on our (male) ginger cat some years ago!! Could kick myself (well...no girls eiither...small prob...I wouldnt use it on a little boy!).
  16. I'm on boy no. 2 now - and have sooo many girls names I love! So much easier than boys! I have to say I don't really like Bailey for a girl or a boy (sorry you did ask!). My husband and I took ages to decide on our two - and had 2 or 3 options right up until they were born.
  17. Is Friday not the wedding bank holiday or am I getting all muddled..?
  18. We moved no. 1 at 4m as he was too big for the moses basket. We did have a mad couple of weeks when I didn't want to move him so we squeezed a travel cot into our room, but we could barely move! Unfortunately the move to own room coincided with him sleeping even worse than ever and I spent a large proportion of the nights plodding from our room to his - to make things worse there was a short period when I didn't even have a chair in his room for feeding - dunno WHAT I was thinking!! Baby no. 2 is nearly 2m too and I'm keeping him next to me for feeds etc for as long as poss - we have a bigger bedside type crib this time and I love him being there - he also doesn't actually have a room yet either as we haven't kicked his brother out of the nursery yet...small problem!! Hope he doesn't grow too big too fast...but he is VERY loud and snuffly. None of my decisions about whether to move either of them really hinged on the SIDS issue - I hope that with no other known 'risks' present (no smoking, sleeping on back etc) and a good monitor things should be fine.
  19. Thursday afternoon? We will look like impostors amongst all the new babies though - baby snowboarder is nearly 8 wks old and weighed in at 13.5lb at his 6 wk check this week...must have gold top milk....! Where can we go that is toddler containable?
  20. Oh more cOngratulations!! I'm officially jealous of you amazing home birth mamas now!! Enjoy your newbies and the lovely sunshine. X
  21. Yay yay yay brilliant news bb!!! COngratulations! Enjoy your early days at home together. x
  22. Ok yep yep he's fine. Only he's not terribly possessive of his own toys and can't drink from a cup....! We'll leave it.
