  2. I have the consolation of receiving 300 into my account on Saturday as a result of backing Celtic when 12 points behind. I have the embarrassment of quids and my brother both tipping the winner of the masters.
  3. This thread is for gamblers not realists Declan.
  4. Rory goes backwards on moving day. Have Kucher padraig and Hunter although have got to be considered outsiders with big Phil firm favourite now to take the jacket...
  5. Champions...:))
  6. Of my 460 pot from last week I have to confess have used 300 of it on the masters so far with most bets falling by the wayside. However half of it is on Rory so he is in good shape at least. Have this morning added Kucher and Yang to my troop. Others were Hunter Zach Justin Luke Padraig Bjorn. C'mon Rory. Fear Bubba Watson though especially as quids has him. Go Rory.
  7. I'm on a golfing roll this year with a 34/1 win on Hunter Mahan at the weekend. A complete random selection but building up a.big betfair pot now with money to come this weekend if Celtic win the league....
  8. Last nights curry night was the best I have been to. Really enjoyed it.
  9. I will be there too. Sorry for late notice but a meeting I had has just been cancelled. See you later.
  10. The spurs end? The semi final is just a formality I guess.
  11. Lennon will get his first title and its thoroughly deserved. Ally is a good guy and a rangers hero but this year the spoils go to Lennon. Hats off.
  12. Lots of talking points but Rangers started brighter and wanted it more than some of the celtic players. Lennon could not handle the big decisions going against Celtic on the other hand Ally McCoist shook the hand of every Celtic player and that was well received. Rangers had to win today for the sake of pride. Celtic restored some pride late on and I think that was down to kris Commons who for me should always start ahead of Ki.
  13. Neil Lennons transformation of Celtic since early autumn will be complete today and the icing on the cake would be winning the title at Ibrox.
  14. Irrespective of Jelly's take on Islam generally, there is a point here that religion should never be allowed to interfere with someone's work obligations, especially in the taxpayer funded service sector.

You will notice that I did not comment on Dalglish's performamce. Its just a point worth bearing in mind that if you install a legend then unravelling that decision can be difficult.
  16. Dalglish will be hard to move on, given his history. Bit early I know but will have to happen sometime.
  17. Very well written Coman.

The majority of people grow up with little money and hence left wing views are attractive to them irrespective of their parents financial position. Therefore if you are spending time with young people when you are young then you are likely to have a convergence of views. Its hard to shift... irrespective of what happens when you are near 50. Its part of growing up, just a latter part of life 'grow up'.
  20. Those who seem to get left out of the debate to some extent are people earning around the ?120k mark with children. These people have lost the personal allowance last year (soon costing them ?9250 at 40% = ?3700 per year) and are also losing the child benefit - another ?1-?3k per year. That's a lot of money to lose out of net income for a family at ?500+ per month. Every time the personal allowance goes up the impact of losing their personal allowance, as against the general population, is greater. Every year they are giving more away as compared to others. This probably affects quite a few ED families.
  21. I'm not sure how well that came across for Milliband, I'm not sure if it is the right etiquette to refer to other MP's personal financial position. Anyway he just kept repeating it, as if they were really going to respond.
  22. It's a winner... ? Reducing the 50% tax rate to 45% Stamp Duty increased to 7% for houses > ?2m No mansion tax. Gets the balance right I feel.
  23. No winners and trying to get home. Thank goodness for one winner on thursday. Headig back to ed to drown sorrows. Great day out though.
