  1. Fair enough argument SJ and its your team so its up to Arsenal fans it they are satisfied or not.

Sorry but its not good enough really. You can dress it up as you like but its the end if the road for another season. And im sorry SJ but Milan may have been a different side had they not won the tie already. Great effort by Arsenal but I think it was attitude that won over. As soon as the gap was 1 goal it was shut up shop, next round please.
  3. Arsenal take glory in defeat. Hmmm. Was that not the last chance of a trophy this year?
  4. This year I am on Burtonport, at huge ante post odds for the Gold Cup. Unlikely to trouble Kauto and Long Run, but you never know.
  5. This thread reminds me that I had a good year in 2011. Which makes me feel better, it must have been 2010 when I lost the house and the car the wife and the kids. Also just looked back to 2009 - found this so 2009 was a good year too:
  6. Nice win on Rory last night at 9/1 gives me a good pot for Cheltenham. :))
  7. Rory McIlroy has three holes to play to achieve world number 1 ...... But the Tiger prowls in the clubhouse. Exciting times.
  8. Sorry Dec but will let you know if I hear anything.
  9. Game of two halves.... :X
  10. Great first half by Ireland. 17-6. The French are so dangerous but who knows, its certainly a nice lead.
  11. Remember Anders Limpar? introduced a new level of diving to England.
  12. That's poor even for you, woof.
  13. I guess the change from Thurs to Weds is a wind up of some sort Mike?
  14. Mancheter City losing 3-0 in the "Second League". Memories of a decade ago.
  15. Hi GG How are you?
  16. Yes, 8 is probably the very earliest I can do Michael, so will see you in the restaurant. Will look into Franklins on the way past in the hope that you are still there and I can rush a quick pint! Cheers.
  17. Relatively low in cost; inexpensive or comparatively inexpensive Sue. The definition you referred me to is above. The important words are relatively and comparatively. It's not how much money that's important, but how it compares to other services or products being offered. A price can't be viewed in isolation in determining whether it is cheap or not. But if we don't agree that is fine. I recognise that ?15 can be considered expensive too.
  18. Of course I did not lay my Spurs bet.....there is nothing worse than laying off a bet and then hoping your prediction does not happen (spurs don't win). I would not write spurs off entirely. Need someone to support anyway. As someone who only saw the highlights ledley king was a complete passenger today.
  19. Sue. Whether something is cheap is nothing to do with what you are earning. Your gigs are arguably more expensive than the hockney exhibition. It's to do with what you get for your pound, not how many pounds you have got.

That is taking magnanimous to a new level.
  21. You and Brian Sewell should go for a beer together.
  22. Sue - I dont think its possible to say something is cheap without taking into account what you are getting in return. To me cheap means inexpensive, and value for money. And having been there last night I thought it was excellent value for money, therefore cheap. I think Brian Sewell is complaining more about a charity charging for entry. But who knows he just seems to want to have a general whinge about the whole exhibition.
  23. Burtonport tipped for the Grand National
  24. No Sue, it's based upon the quality of what you get for your money. Whilst I feel for peoples personal circumstances these are never going to be the overriding factor in setting a price for a major exhibition, which they could easily have priced significantly higher, but instead the RA have set a price that is within reach of as many people as possible. Surely.
  25. We are not getting a waitrose but we are getting a huge great Ocado warehouse just behind Lordship Lane near the Plough. Horrible great thing it is. Be careful what you wish for.
