  1. If you want to lay any more - let me know.
  2. Talking about four gras in terms of whether the bird is penned in or roaming fee is missing the point imo. This is not a free range issue. The issue is painful industrial force feeding.

He is not favourite any longer. I'm going on Frankel.
  4. Loz. There is a big difference between how an animal is killed, which is necessary for food production, and an animal made to suffer every day in pursuit of a better taste.
  5. Tom is a bit "holier than thou". Its his personal opinion that he is trying to enforce by stopping the supply. He would be much better to try to educate people and ask them if they still had the appetite for fois gras, knowing the raw facts/have seen some evidence...dont assume everyone knows or has seen how it happens I think someone caompared this to battery chickens - but its much worse IMO - a steel rod stuck down each duck's throat a number of times, no doubt painfully, shooting food down into their stomachs as they struggle, a farmer grabbing them by the neck. Disgusting. I'll never eat it again.
  6. It looks fantastic - thanks for the link to the picture Katy. I use DH every day, so look forward to its completion.
  7. Lots of people in ED surf the web, but you never know, some might have tried the real thing too. Good luck.

I believe the current Governors are strong and if you ask how well respected they are, then I for one respect them fully and expect them to achieve the best long term outcome for the school.
  9. Are they going to rename it The Foresters ? Have we taken a step back in time or have Greene King got a forward thinking strategy ?
  10. Was she an apprentice ?
  11. I liked foie gras - but having an idea of how it is made I'd be more than happy to settle for a good goose/duck liver pate or any other decent pate. So I don't order foie gras any more. Im a real meat fan, but dont generally agree with animals being made to suffer extra hardship for our benefit. But a good steak from a well looked after cow is hard to beat. Thanks for raising this Thomas.

I spotted a Range Rover and an Audi Q7, for a guy who has no kids yet. Not to mention the Bentley. Seems a very settled guy and its a shame he has split from his girlfriend - but he must be tempted to take advantage of some of the offers he gets and may be better in the long term if he enjoys himself for a few years before settling down. With that hair, he must get a lot of offers.

  15. Hmmm... Try harder.
  16. The only bit of that that was funny was the title. And I think of myself as easily amused. There must be better ones than that.
  17. With 3 recent major winners, there is now a big push for the Open to be played in Northern Ireland again. The R and A have said they would look at it. Lets hope it can be achieved somehow.
  18. Alan Medic Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I thought Ulster was made up of 9 counties! > McGuigan was from Ulster but not Northern Ireland. Bad day ? Bed, wrong side ?
  19. Its my name on there..... http://a.yfrog.com/img739/2981/4nnvj.jpg
  20. Alan Medic Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > But there are no boundaries for golf in Ireland. > Do you have to be so parochial? Maybe you can > narrow it down to 3 counties or less? I just watched the BBC News headlines and they said "Northern Ireland's Darren Clarke". Maybe you should take them to task on that. Golf in Northern Ireland has boundaries. I played Ulster Boys and Ulster Youths. Those competitions begin and end in Ulster. All interprovincial competitions are exactly that, played firstly within their provinces. Likewise we have the North of Ireland Amatuer Championship. In Northern Ireland we have few great sporting heroes who are known internationally; George Best, Alex Higgins, Barry McGuigan being a few. Its great to be able to add golfers Graeme, Rory and Darren to the list. Who would have thought NI would have had 3 golf majors in 13 months having only had one (Fred Daly) in the previous 100 years. Brilliant for such a little place.
  21. Northern Ireland ... Its where its at. The US Open trophy and the Open Championship trophy. Who would have thought it. Brill.
  22. Dustin goes OB Its Darren's to lose now. Go Darren - keep your head big lad....
  23. Dont speak too soon.
  24. BIG PHIL .........
  25. You lost me at transformer. I would buy a new one.
