I believe Callow Locksmiths do general security measures, so they should be able to offer advice. We have a double lock on our door and about a year ago my wife convinced me it was necessary to double lock the door even when we were in, as they can burgle you when you are asleep, they don't care if you are in or not as someone said above. Stay safe.

Probably too early - but put half my stake on at a range of 2.9 to 3.35 - could not help myself. Will put the rest on when I'm sure he will run but the odds are now 2.0 on betfair - I seem to have taken the odds down from 3.35 to 2.0 :-$ but there was not much capacity available.

"This compares with the previous best-selling adult hardback, Thomas Harris' Hannibal, which has sold 298,000 copies since it was published in 1999." I bought and read Hannibal and found it disappointing in the end. I was in Waterstones at lunchtime and the woman in front of me was buying the Dan Brown book - did not realise it was only out yesaterday. I, on the other hand, was buying "Revolutionary Road" - ask me in a month and i'll tell you if its any good, I'm not the fastest reader.

No probs Quids - But I was responding to this part of you earlier comment, which I think is a good point, and that's why Obama himself will never play the racism card as it will make him look weak.

Quids- I think that's right for the priveledged English teams - but try telling any Rangers or Standard Liege fan that tonights games were not exciting. The group seeds will in the main waltz through - and there is a case for putting 8 top teams into the knockout stages direct, but for improving teams its very exciting. A waste of time for the English teams though. When Celtic got into the group stages I used to love them - a chance to play against the big boys and beat them, which was great when it happened.

I think there are some people who do not want him to succeed and do not like his success so far. For that reason, as with JFK as an Irish Catholic many years ago, I think minorities need to be better than average to succeed. I think by including the words of the title, Quids - "YOU LIE" - I meant that there seems to be a feeling that if Obama was not a minority no House of Representatives member would ever dare have made such a comment. It was a lack of respect shown by someone who in his own eyes may have felt Obama should not be there talking to him, Carter I think feels this was a racist comment for this reason and I agree.

Ladygooner Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Be sure to take care of your bags in Barcelona - I > have travelled extensively and have never seen so > many muggings and attempted muggings as I saw on > my weekend there. Spot on Ladygooner. I went on a stag weekend to Barcelona - 15 of us and over 2 nights, 7 people had their pockets picked. And some of my friends are not to be messed with. They had their wallets taken from their front jeans pockets. Be extremely careful, separate your money into different pockets. Avoid any conversations with "locals" who try to make conversation with you at night. And if you see a street fight, stay well away, these are staged to direct your attention from the pickpockets. Las Ramblas is an outlaw zone at night. We spoke to an English barmaid and she had been mugged 3 times in a year in broad daylight - do not wear a bag over your shoulder. Great city but Las Ramblas, you need to know the dangers. My wife warned me before we left - I told everybody what she said - they responded "well, probably no worse than Oxford Street" - 2 days later we were over a grand down between us.

Yes - well done Rangers - did not see the game but a good result. Helps the image of Scottish football after Celtic's inept display against Arsenal. I'm not the sort of Celtic fan who wants Rangers to lose every time they run on the park, so well done.

Carter reignites racism debate Are there people who will not accept Obama, no matter what level of success he achieves? Is that what Jimmy Carter is hinting at? Is Jimmy Carter a realist or is he out of line?
-
I like your innocence there Atila - "Andy Gray (a scotsman)". Try reading it another way - Andy Gray (a former Rangers player). Not that his opinion is not valid - I like him and his opinions, he was a tough player who liked to push the rules to their limit (remember his FA Cup Final goal for Everton against Watford, basically bumping the keeper and ball into the net).

Football writer Oliver Holt believes UEFA were wrong to rescind their ban of Arsenal striker Eduardo, after the Brazilian born Croatian dived against Celtic. The respected sports correspondent intimates UEFA?s actions now suggests diving will be tolerated in the modern game. Holt told mirrorfootball.co.uk: ?Uefa have made fools of themselves by climbing down over their suspension of Eduardo for diving against Celtic.? He added: ?Their instinct might have been correct but it had no real precedent and their decision to rescind the Croatian?s ban amounts to nothing less than a diver?s charter.?

I think that's another way of saying TLS, that if we keep boring everyone else they might give us the Lounge to ourselves and then they'll probably set up a seperate section for serious minded people - hey wait a minute.

Brilliant thread from *Bob* - we need more dead people threads. Keep them coming.

Sorry TLS - as Bob posted it first I assumed he suffered the greater loss - do forgive me. My condolences.

Very sad news Bob - did you know him well. When is the funeral?
