  1. The big clubs don't give a hoot about the FA Cup, unless they accidentally make it to the semi finals...

  3. Strange result.
  4. Everyone wants to play me....
  5. Lets hope so.
  6. That's right RD - its good that's its shared - but when Stoke, who have never won anything to my knowledge, are generating more income than for example Porto, twice European champions and in the champions league on a regular basis makes you wonder who is paying for all of this Stoke money - someone is paying over the market rate somewhere and guess what it's football fans paying through the nose for TV and tickets. We stupidly accept it and say how brilliant our league is - but we are just paying into the EPL via Sky etc and the clubs pass that money out to overpaid players. People crow about best league in the world, but that's just us being suckers. The EPL and Sky are together the most expertly marketed product in the world of football, and we are the customer.
  7. Managed to lose ?40 last night at my first poker game for about 30 years. They saw me coming - also they are keen to have me back - not surprisingly.

  9. BT Express - never heard of them, nothing new there, but I like it.

  11. My brother just re-mortgaged to a 10 year fix of 2.99% which I thought was a good combo of reasonable long term rate and certainty over future outgoings plus no more fees for 10 years.
  12. English presence in the top 10 rose from four teams to five, from six to eight in the top 20, and eight to 14 in the top 30. To put that into context, it means Stoke, Sunderland and Swansea all generated more revenue than storied clubs such as Porto, Lazio, Corinthians and Celtic Edited to add - we should not be proud of this particularly as we all (or most of us) pay for all of this through the Sky rip off subscriptions. No other country settles for the cost of provision.
  13. Also - its good to have something decent up "our" end of the Lane.

  15. If I keep this up, I'll be out of work too.

  17. I'm eating a carrot.
  18. Was 13 9 this Monday morning, so all going ok despite the visit to Ireland at the weekend. Keep it up chaps/chapesses.

  20. Its good to have choices DF, you don't have to like them all but different options is always good.
  21. I'm pleased about that - might watch some of the rugby in the Flying Pig this year as has a good screen.

  23. Maybe not permanently but certainly the Scottish championship is the more interesting of the two leagues this season and these three will all make it back either next season or the following one.

  25. Football managers live and die by results Otta. I'm "giving" him the credit. Emphasis on him "taking" the credit was unintentional, but if you think he's a whatever that's fine too - Football managers are rarely shrinking violets of course.
