  1. Rope a dope. :)
  2. Its been an amazing turnaround at west ham - a matter of 6 months ago there was a big defeat and I thought BFS would be gone but he hung in there. I'm surprised at Downing's transformation too - he looked fantastic in central midfield on MOTD. BFS has to take the credit even if he does operate an unsophisticated plan A. And I agree the first half tactics looked a bit agricultural compared to the second half but maybe you have to soften the opposition up first.

  9. Very simplistic Jeremy. Violence is about much more than the physical pain - hitting a partner doesn't have to be very painful on the recipient to be domestic violence, so yes men can suffer it too. Its about anger and fear.

  11. Yes - good post Katanita - I was overegging the grumpy bit.... it really because I'm bored.

  13. Any reason why you say apart from Merryfields? He's almost certainly the most skilled cobbler locally.

As I said before, it does all > seem shockingly predatory. I haven't read the judgement - but one very important point to me (Evans conviction v his friends non conviction) is that the girl did not engage with Evans before going to the hotel and therefore didn't (necessarily) agree/intend to be in the hotel with him at all. It may not make a difference as regards consent to the actual act, but she didn't know and hadn't engaged with Evans, and had not agreed to go to the hotel with him, but had presumably agreed to go to the hotel with the first guy. This may have been relevant to the jury. I also think the first guy has some responsibility in his role as a facilitator in a similar way to motivators/spectators in "The Accussed" old Jodie Foster movie.
  16. Well.....Having eaten very little (and I mean that) and zero alcohol, increased walking - I'm on 13st 11 this morning. I'm comparing that with 14st 4 starting weight of last Monday morning (the 14.7 was an evening weigh in) I v pleased. But have fallen out with everyone at home as I don't eat with them and I go to bed early, am maybe a bit grumpy. I have done this in the past and am quite good at losing weight when I'm v focussed especially during the working week - but normally I put some back on at weekends - so I waited until this morning before making a comparison. Next Saturday I'm in Ireland with family, drinking and eating for one night, so hoping that doesn't kill my momentum.
  17. Putting religion aside would Charlie have insulted a race in the same way and called it free speech?
  18. He said the Queen Mother. The Queen has standards.
  19. Typo amended, meant I and II.
  20. You might have taken that the wrong way - the second part was only having a little jibe at your mind reading ability :) The first part was, whilst I agree there are those who don't wear poppies to be "alternative" there are also those who think its ultra loyal/nationalistic to wear them. Whilst we both suspect this is the case - just by looking at someone you cant tell what their position is. From my personal perspective - If there was a poppy for WWI and WWII remembrance only, I'd be happy to wear one. We owe our liberty and democracy to these people.
  21. If that's the case then there is also the "look at me I do wear a poppy" .... and that probably means I'm a bit more proud of my country than you are doesn't it. Well no it doesn't. But unless you have some ability to read minds Quids, you don't know if people are thinking "look at me" or not. It may all be in your mind.
  22. How are we all doing? So far so good...

Try telling kids in Sheffield that they don't worship United players.
  24. Hmmm. I owe you a few whiskeys from previous encounters.
