  1. I have an unopened bottle of calamine lotion yr welcome to. Pop over and get it tonight if you want.
  2. I had the Cameleon for my first child and loved it! As others have said easy to push (much more so than the Maclaren and Phil and Teds I've had since), great suspension loved the carrycot and E looked so much more comfy in the seat than she did in the Maclaren where she looked slumped. I used it on the bus a lot, it's actually quite narrow for a proper pram/travel system. Having said all of that I would love a Bee for my 2nd child, so neat and would probably mean we could get rid of the Maclaren because they don't take up much boot space. The cameleon has really good resale value which is worth thinking about, not sure about the Bee- you don't see as many 2nd hand on here...
  3. Hi Ruth. We were told at the end of last term it starts tomorrow. I booked last night. Think they only had spaces for the 9.15 session though.

  5. Does anyone know the new session times? Thinking of heading there this morning. Thanks!
  6. hm E has been able to escape from tt since she was about 1 even with baby set and cushions! She is very little though and we didn't get the harness.
  7. Another vote for the ergo. Have carried 2yr old comfortably in it, can't wait to use it with new baby. Would like a beco too for the front facing option but can't really justify!
  8. I've spent a fortune on nursing bras over the past 3yrs! Completely worth getting comfy ones that also look nice. I have a few by hot milk that are pretty and fit well. I found the sizes quite big though both in the back and cup. For everyday I love the underwired anita ones- too really supportive and they look like normal bras. I wore a bra at night for the entire 16 months of feeding my daughter- was a revelation to go to bed without 1! I like the bravado ones from jo jo. They come go sizes s m and l and aren't too structured. Definitely don't buy too many before baby is born. I made that mistake with 2nd baby and now have about 4 bras that are too small, may get to use them when baby drops feeds and I'm out producing as much milk.
  9. At this age my daughter enjoyed group called Messy Play and Treasure Baskets. I think it's at Bessemer Grange chn centre now. There's sand-water, toys books and different messy activities every week. Also Stay and Play Monday afternoons at the Albrighton Centre was a really friendly welcoming group. Swimming and Peckham Rye 1 o clock were also popular. I've heard great things about Sing and Sign and Tumbletots but the days didn't fit in with my non working days. Hope this helps a bit.
  10. I would avoid buying too many initially as different brands seem to suit different babies. Also bigger babies may not be in the newborn size for long. My 10 wk old lasted about a week but my toddler was in them for a few months. The sizes are based on weight but loosely I've found with my big baby boy. We've always used Sainsburys eco nappies and basic wipes- they're fairly cheap and that's where we do our shopping so no separate trips. Definitely stock up when there's an event though it's a pain storing them. We've recently tried Asda nappies which are better than Sainsburys for 2nd baby so I'l prob if OH to pick some up on the way home from work. I rate them more than Pampers which I always think smell odd... Hope this is helpful- good luck!
  11. Thanks again anna and fuschia. Felt worse this morning so got appointment at Seldoc. I have some antibiotics- amoxicillin so lookingt at the above comments is worrying me a bit. Will keep an eye on the lump and make another appointment if it hasn't completely gone by the time I've finished the course. I'm feeding as much as baby will let me, haveing hot showers an taking ibuprofen. Fingers crossed and Merry Christmas!
  12. Thanks Fuschia. Was hoping you'd reply. Will give Seldoc a call. Had no idea they might prescribe on the phone. Baby is doing a sterling job, can't believe I'm saying this but hopefully he'll continue into the night! Don't worry wouldn't chuck the milk away. At some stage I'll try bottle or cup or use it for weaning. Thanks again.
  13. I'm probably not the best person to comment but with my daughter I just did whatever it took to get her to sleep (mainly pram, sling or rocking) as I found night time much better if she'd napped. Also her being number 1 I didn't mind being out and about with the pram all the time. If I were to do it again I'd probably take a gradual approach of trying the first nap at home with maybe some white noise patting shushing that you could slowly withdraw and the next nap in pram or whatever and see how that goes. My 9 wk old now tends to drop off on his own 1st thing sometimes before I can even put him in the basket (have been known to find him asleep on playmat whilst Ive been dealing with his sister! ) and then generally on the go for the rest of the day. He does however stay asleep in his pram once we're home sometimes for another hour or so which is great as my daughter would wake as soon as the key was in the lock! Pickle is right though you have to decide what fits in with yr lifestyle. With baby 1 I really liked the freedom of spending the whole day out going into town etc. we're much more ED based now and tied by drop off pick up times etc. Good luck!
  14. Evening. Just bumping up this old thread as today I noticed hard, painful lump in 1 breast and feeling bit fluey. Called NHS direct who said paracetomal, massage and lots of feeding and it should pass in 24 hours but to see Dr if it gets worse. There are some great tips on here just wondered how likely it is to go without antibiotics. I am feeding from the affected side which is painful but not unbearable atm. Bit concerned as we're supposed to be going away tomorrow. Have just dug out pump but no bottles in house (other than the 1 attatched to pump)would prefer to avoid using as baby probably wouldn't take. Hope this is coherant!
  15. Hm think we might need to wrap them though ours never were... There's been some discussion about which presents are from FC and which from us. I prefer it to be just stockings from FC and everything else from us, relatives etc. OH thinks everything should be from FC. We're doing it my way as I bought and wrapped all of them!
  16. We've only got E 1 present and a stocking belle for the same reason! Do people wrap the presents in the stocking?
  17. Then you throw 8 week jabs into the mix! Baby very unsettled last night...after a few better nights though so maybe there's hope...
  18. What others have said re tiredness/being overstimulated. My oh often used to come back from work to find me bouncing baby on exercise ball in the dark with the hoover on! My daughter never really slept longer than 30 min at a time in the day so must have been exhausted by 5. 9 wk old has longer sleeps and doesn't have this witching hour at the moment- long may it continue! Hope it improves for you soon.
  19. I feel really emotional about E's 1st haircut on Fri- do you think they'll let me have bit for her baby book?! Also sad at the thought of her leaving her lovely lovely childminder to go to nursery...
  20. I keep seeing these incredibly thick ones that are long, think the're called Kaiser Thermal or something, the bottom actually comes out so they fitbig toddlers. Someone might know what I'm talking about??
  21. Love Ralph and Rafe...
  22. Thanks for the advice. I'm currently waiting for Dr to call me back. I tried mixing with honey, gummy bear before and after, chocolate coins but still retching every time. She's normally very good with calpol and was actually quite excited at this new medicine. Hopefully dr can prescribe something else, I just can't see this getting down. Not sure how interchangeable antibiotics are though...
  23. I'm torn between feeling sad about time passing and pleased to clear some space! I've kept daughter's 1st shoes and will probably keep a few of her nicest baby clothes when I get around to sorting them out. Same for new baby. Think I will be sad to sell equipment e.g moses basket will have to go soon. Suppose it makes it seem unlikely we'll ever have number 3 but we simply don't have the room to store everything just in case...
  24. Evening family roomers. I took my daughter (3 in Feb) to see the gp today. She's got a patch of dry skin that has started to look angry. Gp thought it was a bacterial infection and gave me a prescription for Fluclxacillin. Problem is E wont touch it. Gave tried bribery, mixing with smoothie, sneaking it in but it's a no go. She was actually retching so I tasted a tiny bit and it is absolutely foul- 5mls would make me sick! My question is will the gp prescribe another antibiotic that tastes better? Obviously I want her to get better but I can't force the stuff down her throat! Thanks.
  25. My nearly 3 yr old is the same. Most classes seem to start from 3 apart from TT as mentioned but didn't fit in with my non working days either. There's a drop in trampolining class for 18 mths-4yrs on Saturday mornings at Jags. E loves it. Goes with daddy. Think it's ?5 per class. There are 2 sessions starting at 9.15 and 10.
