  1. 2 young adults living at home because they can not get on the housing ladder but have a motor vehicle, father who is self employed and needs a works vehicle, and a mother who needs her car for work and pleasure because husband only has a works vehicle. That sounds like the norm. All have road tax/insurance and all legally allowed on the road. It is not Southwark's job to tell people what they are allowed to have or do and not be told to take a hike.
  2. What the precious residents of Camberwell Grove should remember is that the road was a major road long before they pitched up. This road did not appear overnight and all those purchasing properties in this road would have known this before they bought. It is all about them and increasing the value of their properties, no more nor less. This closing nonsense was thrown out at the last meeting when the neighbourhood turned out is force because they knew of the meeting. Apart from this post I have not seen any official notification about the 20th September meeting. Why? Like most things with Southwark you have to be in the know and the fewer the better who know it can be passed on the quiet.
  3. Walking past today in Pytchley Road it look like they are demolishing the brick work these railings were attached to. Does this mean all the brick works will disappear leaving just the low hedges.
  4. As the developer owns their land, the indirect threat comes from you via public objection to halt their development from taking place in the form they want. Hope all parties do not rub each other up the wrong way and common sense prevails
  5. Quote from first idea re the Coal Line Steps to get it done: "We will commission a professional landscape architect who can engage the landowners and develop a full feasibility study."

  7. Do not wait until someone gets injured. Just do it
  8. Perhaps a recent example is Solomons passage. A disaster from start to finish. Building regs appeared to be complied with although the whole estate to be pulled down. Officials out of their depth? Wandle it seems, allegedly, had no control on the project. Although they were the Housing Association responsible for the construction. How much help did these people get from Council, Cllrs and Harriet Harman?
  9. At the junction of DKH and Champion Hill I always wait until the Green Man shows. Seen too many deaths and near misses. The same should apply waiting along Lordship Lane from Goose Green to Townley Road, people just scoot across the road with out looking, singles, couples and mothers with kids in buggies from behind buses and except people to see them instantly. Perhaps people have been seduced that 20mph is a life saver particularly for Lordship Lane. That latest message is more important.

Please accept our apologies for sending you a belated response. At present, our term consultant is carrying out the detailed design of the required strengthening measures to be implemented to the bridge. The design works are planned to be completed by mid-April, 2017. Following completion of the detailed design, London Borough of Southwark (LBS) will obtain construction costs from our term contractor. Based on the contractor?s work methodology, LBS will discuss with Network Rail to arrange rail possessions and identify the associated cost. After identifying the overall cost of the works, LBS will submit a bid for the required funding from LoBEG (London Bridges Engineering Group). LoBEG is an advisory body, who prioritise Transport for London funding for assessment/strengthening/replacement of concerned bridges in the 33 London Boroughs. For information, the funding required to complete the structural load assessment of Camberwell Grove bridge was provided by LoBEG. Please note that arranging rail possessions with Network Rail is a lengthy process that takes significant time. For instance, LBS awaited over 1.5 years to get the required rail possessions from Network Rail to complete the initial inspection of the bridge to aid the structural load assessment. In addition, if LBS are not successful in the bid for funding from LoBEG, alternative resources will need to be looked at which may take more time. Therefore, in summary, LBS are not in a position to tell an exact date for implementing strengthening works on site or re-opening of the bridge. However, LBS assure the public that it make every effort to reopen the bridge sooner than later. I trust that the above answers your query. If you need further information/clarification please do not hesitate to contact me." Regards Aravind Thiagarajah Aravind Interim Manager ? It does seem a strange > boundary that Tooley Street have made out but they > must have their reasons! It is all part of Southwark's master plan to make all roads revenue producing and get cars off the roads. The top part of Chadwick Road/Grove Park in the plan is the last non CPZ not joined to the existing CPZ now they intend to make it part of the whole. If you have more than 3 cars per household you will not get a permit for others according to the consultation papers. Again a consultation is raised during the summer months. Are these idea's raised to keep people occupied instead of getting rid of them because they have very little to do? They will all go through regardless.
  14. Evening Standard today Cyclists have complained that new security barriers on London?s bridges make roads less safe for them, just hours after they were installed to protect pedestrians from terror attacks. Campaigners said the reinforced fences, which have been set up in cycle lanes to shield crowds walking on bridges, were a ?crush risk? and showed a ?total lack of consideration? for the welfare of cyclists. The sturdy partitions were put in place overnight on crossings at Waterloo, Lambeth and Westminster in response to the deadly terror strike in the heart of the capital on Saturday evening.
  15. Along with Herne HIll to Denmark Hill. As most cars can now stop on a sixpence I dont see what the problem is with 30mph on roads as wide as these.
  16. Do you have an accurate speedometer on your bike or is it just guesswork from you?
  17. When you never found labels insulting
  18. "Hi rch, I'm baffled why their would be any loss of parking. Officers are currently looking at this and when they have a view I'll share what I have. If they meet you on site that gets billed to the CGS funds so please don't spend that. IF their is a problem with the final design then a meeting on site might be required." Perhaps a silly question, If Officers are employed and paid by Southwark to do this job as salaried staff, why is their time charged? Their time is already covered. Are they outside Consultants? as this always seem to be the case these days with Southwark
  19. Thanks for this comment explains why our attack report was closed and they back pedaled as fast as they could go. Perhaps when a fatal injury happens they will come out with the normal "lessons have been learned"
  20. Any minute now you will get "If you cannot debate in a sensible way I am out"
  21. I do hope you have more success with this than we did. My daughter's dog was savaged by an off the lead and with no collar pitbull just recently and sustained extensive wounds. Just loose on the street. Despite many witnesses and people who could identify the owners, even to the extent of giving their address as they were known locally the police did not want to know. Putting up any excuse to not take the matter forward. Despite writing to say this is wrong they have closed the case and will not take it further. The veterinary fees were very high and who has to bear this, the owners not the could not care less dog owners who caused these injuries. We are taking this higher and further I wish you luck but do not hold your breath.
  22. Nor all points South of Bellenden Village. It is Southwark's plan to make all roads revenue producing in the fullness of time displacing motorised transport.
  23. I have tried to reply to you by PM but your mail box is completely full.
  24. Renata Hamvas Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > to my knowledge, those shared owners returning to > Solomon's passage will be returning to their > original flats once works are completed on blocks > 40 and 46. > Renata Thank you for your response. I think you are missing the point. Will the block be kept only as shared ownership or will people who bought into a private block when returning be now part of a social housing block/Estate. They did not buy on this basis. You, and Harriet Harman when asked have not answered the question and Wandle will not clarify. Will they be offered again as Shared Ownership and as a private block? Will either yourself or Harriet Harman give a definitive answer.
  25. Thank you for your response. Can you confirm that once repairs to block 40 shared ownership or other shared ownership blocks are completed and those owners who have elected to return will be returning to a privately owned block as per their original purchase? Or has Wandle other plans? I cannot see any mention of this. If you bought into a private block you should return to a privately owned block. This was how the sales were made to the buyers. I look forward to your answer. Regards
