You have not mentioned what the bill/s or for. Major works or Service Charge or something else. From memory there is a defined path that freeholders have to follow before sale of your property can be made. If you already knew about the bill and done nothing you might be on a sticky wicket. You should have received first/second and final demands re this debt then if you have not replied or disputed the bill the freeholder should have contacted your mortgage lender for payment which is normal procedure or you could have contacted your lender yourself. Your mortgage lender would then have contacted you asking for an explanation of how the debt arose and if you had sufficient equity in the property and would you be in agreement for the debt to be paid off and the mortgage re adjusted. If you have received these letters and ignored them you are in trouble. You would also have received a court appearance date. These letters would have been issued over many months not one and then court. As I mentioned these steps have to be followed. If you have been paying the mortgage on a regular basis and bearing in mind the current situation I would have thought you could have borrowed additional funds. It maybe the case with past rising house prices you have already borrowed against the property and the mortgage company have said no. The bottom line is if you have just ignored any correspondence you are in trouble. If the freeholder has not follwed these steps the court should be informed. Your mortgage lenders are the people you should speak to. Hope you can sort this out

Free Travel (Freedom Pass) Over 60's Suspended
sally buying replied to DulwichFox's topic in The Lounge
Has any thought been given to the fact older people do not have all this kit. Perhaps a little thought might be in order. -
Why are people so mean on this forum Rejoice in the fact that house prices on MG will no doubt rise and those streets that feed in or out will decrease in value making these residents very unhappy. People that over borrowed to live in the new haven of MG will not have the worry of going into negative equity now. I believe the local Cllr said I had not thougt of that situataion in an earlier posts. Seems he has not thought about many things. MB like Camberwell Grove has always been a major through route why should it be classified any different now? Answers on Zoopla please.

It would interesting to have a full list of changes that Southwark are pushing thru on the back of the virus. You will not know what they intend to do until it is done. I have asked Dale Foden many times regarding Champion Hill, no answer. Its there to stay. These changes will be here for good. As regards parking and cars Cllr Livingstone has said they are only concentrating during this period on dangerously parked cars not illegally parked cars hence why there is more congestion on streets. This will help their arguments for all these measures.

Would appreciate any feedback on the availability in this instance of Tesco shopping slots. As a family we have for almost 3 weeks been trying to get a shopping slot. We either do not get on line in the queue or get in the queue and get shut down. Have others had the same sort of experience. Thanks

What is the situation regarding goods on the shelves. I need to go as supplies getting low. If it is 25 minutes plus wait and zero on the shelves it might be a pointless exercise. Would appreciate any news. If people go could there be a steady up date as to the queues most people are on their phones all the time so news would help regulate queues. Many thanks

Where is it safer to food shop in East Dulwich ?
sally buying replied to Alan Medic's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
In my experience shops do allow only one or two people in the shop at a time but people cannot get it into their head to allow space between each other whe lining up outside. Last friday Roses outside line was down the street but all bunched up together also Moxons had the same problem. Its people not shops and if you read the thread on Dulwich Park today you can see people do not care. -
Just heard on LBC a person ringing in stated they came past CrystalPalace Park and seems more people out than usual came through Dulwich Village and people many people walking around and sitting on packed benches having coffee. What is wrong with them or does speaking in a posh voice give them immunity, perhaps they should swop it for a brain and common sense.

To allow more deliveries to be made why can they not bring back the use of plastic bags. Will help drivers drop off quicker and customer to carry stuff in doors.

Did you manage to get a look at the rest of the goods on display? Feedback would be appreciated

If you go back on Sainsbury's threads you will see that people have said this about the shelves long before this crisis.

Do you see the older generation acting like this probably not because they are not conditioned to respond to the crap that is being put out on social media.

when this charging in parks was first promoted the following was the main reason given along with Southwark's aim to drive cars of the road. "Our hope is that those who are able to will adopt more sustainable modes of transport, and this in turn will help to improve air quality for everyone in Southwark. Access to parks for vulnerable and less able people will be maintained as Blue Badge holders will still have free and unlimited parking. "In addition to the reasons above, ongoing budget pressures have meant that it has become necessary to find new ways of offsetting costs so the high standards in our parks can be maintained. There are also cases that some of our park car parks appear to be used by commuters and we are seeking to prioritise park users." Reading above does this still apply or all park fund creamed off?
