I read the Facebook page post on the proposed restructuring here: https://www.facebook.com/RitzyLivingWage Apparently absolutely disgusting and cynical move by Picture House. HP

Depends on the type of asbestos and how friable it is. If encapsulated and then left undisturbed then yes fine to monitor it. If its already friable and deteriorating then not so simple... HP -

Noooooo! I was with you all the way until the word 'vibe'. I love Peckham but if I think its got a 'vibe' I will be really depressed.

I would not choose a private education for my children - my choice is state schooling regardless of whether or not I could afford a private school. HP

Starting an East Dulwich Food Co-op
hpsaucey replied to Clare-Bear's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hello.. I got the catalogue a while back wondering about a buying group as I could never store enough in our flat to get to their ?250 order for delivery and am now too skint for health food shop prices! I'm ashamed to say that I have been ordering Suma stuff from Amazon which doesn't feel right especially as it comes in tons of packaging! Would be delighted if a Food Coop started so please count me in and thank you for posting! -

Has anyone actually the police yet - needs reporting. Safer Neighbourhoods teams here: http://content.met.police.uk/Team/Southwark/PeckhamRye http://content.met.police.uk/Team/Southwark/EastDulwich The PR one extends intro Friern/Dunstan Road ect. and they explicitly mention road safety in their remit. good luck! not a single parent but, like you, worried about rent increases. So harsh when you have your child settled at a school to then have to move them for this reason... Hope you find someone. Hp

God - I have the same problem. I get overwhelmed by the number of places to see .. and so end up seeing none of them. HP

There have been some great ones on movies4men recently - a true trashy guilty pleasure. Mega SHark vs Giant Octopus, Two Headed Shark etc. Try these for a laugh: Helen

I got past buggy days a couple of years ago after two kids but can safely say that Peckham Rye station was the one station where nine times out of ten someone offered to help me. I was really heartened. Victoria on the other hand - rush rush rush so less help offered.

ultraburner Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Red Sonja and Conan the barbarian. Nooooo - surely you don't mean the original Arnie Conan? A cracking film (and soundtrack) especially if you see the directors cut. Fantasy, suberb fighting scenes, giant snakes, James Earl Jones, one of the best movie musical scores ever, fantasy, tongue in cheek humour - ripping off head of vulture with his teeth, etc. etc. The remake however, truly does suck! Parking fine near Peckham Rye Park.

From a pedestrians POV yes you can walk around it, but I suppose that's not the point. Someone in a wheelchair might find it tricky if the available pavement is taken up by vehicles. -
Aspergers child and secondary school 'choices'
hpsaucey posted a topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hello all - I realise that there's already a thread which looks at this (title 'Help... secondary school dilemmas - again!' but its not obvious from that thread title so I'm posting a new one: My son is currently year 5 and has Aspergers. We're on the east side of Peckham Rye COMmon. I'd be really grateful and interested to hear any more on how people have found these schools if your children are there/ any other advice about schools where your ASD children flourish/ any other sources of ASD-focussed advice for the schools in the area. Like many of you (I suspect) we have no statement despite my son's Aspergers diagnosis, although I was wondering if it might be worth trying to get one still. I'm starting to get very twitchy about the whole secondary school transition. Any help very much appreciated! HP -
