As far as food plants are concerned, the 'green revolution' has pushed the GM envelope to the limit: the amount of solar energy that can illuminate a given area of photosynthesising foliage. Sorry - no free lunch here. Unless you think cucumber flavoured sardines or glow-in-the-dark jellyfish will save the world, best not to hold your breath ? those technologies aren?t going anywhere.

You could try something like this: Anti-theft Powder or Flourecent Powder.

Looks like a tax avoidance scheme to me - deferred bonuses could easily be used as collateral for interest-free loans until the escrow expires thereby avoiding this year's one-off bonus tax! Plus ?a change, plus c'est la m?me chose.

Talking of plonkers, that reminds me: Delboy is coming to Peckham. He'll be opening the new 99p Store at 10AM on Friday 29th January on Rye Lane where the old Woolworth used to be.

Nah, Scoville, I think. She was a hottie, though. Off the scale.

Ah yes - cryptic. I didn't think of that. I once knew a girl who could tell whether someone had had a curry up to twelve hours earlier - how's that for a sense of taste?

No, not jealous at all - good luck to them. Just wondering where all our resident prudes have gone? Things haven?t been the same since we had that break a while back, that's all.

Is there an amnesty on public blowjobs this week, or something? Where's the local "report them to the police" crowd when you need them?

I was twelve at the time. Had I read the wiki page then, I doubt I would have bothered. But I think some of the exercises did bring about an improvement and I still do them from time to time.

Islam, in common with Christianity and Judaism, is subject to interpretation. Some interpretations of Islam believe (that it is God's will) that women should be covered from head to foot in public (hence the burka) whilst other interpretations adopt the early Christian and Jewish practice of covering the head only.

I tried these eye exercises years ago: they seemed to work for me: The Bates method.

I was out there during the eighties - fond memories of drinking "Jeddah Champaign" (a mixture of Perrier and Orange Juice) in public and neat pernod-flavoured Gripe Water (an OTC calmative for babies containing 3.6% alcohol) along with some pretty powerful home-brewed "flash" at private parties.

There are many witty, intelligent and honourable ways to counter an opponent's argument - an unprovoked Ad Hominem attack is not one of them. It diminishes the attacker, the forum and its members. Shame on those who condone this type of behaviour.

If tempted to use a solvent, first check that it doesn't dissolve the fabric, especially if it contains synthetic fibres. -

According to Google Translate, the palindrome "saippuakuppinippukauppias" means "soap deck merchants" in Finnish, apparently. Yahoo!'s BableFish doesn't do Finnish.

European Parliament to Investigate WHO and ?Pandemic? Scandal The Council of Europe member states will launch an inquiry in January 2010 on the influence of the pharmaceutical companies on the global swine flu campaign, focusing especially on extent of the pharma?s industry?s influence on WHO. The Health Committee of the EU Parliament has unanimously passed a resolution calling for the inquiry. The step is a long-overdue move to public transparency of a ?Golden Triangle? of drug corruption between WHO, the pharma industry and academic scientists that has permanently damaged the lives of millions and even caused death. The strengths of the physical forces of our Universe may not be the only values that can sustain life. The January 2010 issue of Scientific American magazine features an interesting article - Looking for Life in the Multiverse - which argues that 'Universes with different physical laws might still be habitable'.
